I worked with Nico on a program based around a core of classic barbell exercises - squat, bench, and deadlift. Training sessions were challenging and fun, and I progressed steadily whilst losing weight and putting on an appreciable amount of new muscle. Beyond just coaching lifting form, Nico has a deep understanding of all the different factors that go into a training program - how to manipulate volume and intensity, when to bring in accessories and alternative forms, and what to do outside the gym to maximise effectiveness. He knows when to push me for a new personal best, but also when I need to be encouraged to dial things back a notch and get some rest, which has kept me injury free and performing throughout the year. I am delighted with the results we've achieved together, but even more than that I have come to really enjoy the whole process.
