I learned a friend of mine I'd grown up with, who also now lives out of state, had flown in because his mother was in the hospital in NSB. As a touch of comfort, I wanted to get him something that felt like "home," and I called Dolly's Gift Shop for help. Jamie had just opened the store that morning, and she wove in time to send me many photos of things she thought might be a nice token. She was so wonderful with her time, her ideas, and she even wrapped it up and coordinated with my local family member who came by to get the gift. Above and beyond. Turns out that it is more of a beach shop and not overly filled with everything flamingo. They stock women's clothing, jewelry, accessories, Souvenirs and gifts. Towards the middle to the back of the store there is lots of artwork for sale. The Ring Gallery is worth a look. Prices are fair and I found many for gorgeous pictures. BeachSyde Syren is a cute gift shop on Flagler Avenue with a fun mermaid theme…read more They have hats, decor, T-shirts, jewelry - all the things you expect from a souvenir shop at the beach and of course, some special goodies like mermaid tails! What sets the shop apart from the typical chain is how nice the associate was. I'm not sure if she was the owner but she shared some kind words with my daughters and I was happy to purchase the items they were looking at. It's refreshing in these times to have a nice interaction while shopping because it rarely happens anymore. I'd rather pay more to a small business that offers a great customer experience any day.
