Turns out that it is more of a beach shop and not overly filled with everything flamingo. They stock women's clothing, jewelry, accessories, Souvenirs and gifts. Towards the middle to the back of the store there is lots of artwork for sale. The Ring Gallery is worth a look. Prices are fair and I found many for gorgeous pictures. As a touch of comfort, I wanted to get him something that felt like "home," and I called Dolly's Gift Shop for help. Jamie had just opened the store that morning, and she wove in time to send me many photos of things she thought might be a nice token. She was so wonderful with her time, her ideas, and she even wrapped it up and coordinated with my local family member who came by to get the gift. Above and beyond. This small business is a stand-alone sparkly nugget on busy U.S. 1 (Dixie Freeway). Colorful, hand painted sculptures and treasures greet you even before you set foot in the store. Once inside, there are so many treasures in every nook and cranny - with a particular focus on nautical themed (especially mermaids - hence the name - "The Vintage Mermaid") furnishings and gifts. The store also smells like a spa and a new age store had a baby - it's a nice smell! They seem to specialize in up-cycling wooden furniture, turning pieces into one-of-a-kind "must have" item. The store even has a special paint section and staff provide free advice on how to do certain techniques on furniture that customers may want to attempt at home. What sets the shop apart from the typical chain is how nice the associate was. I'm not sure if she was the owner but she shared some kind words with my daughters and I was happy to purchase the items they were looking at. It's refreshing in these times to have a nice interaction while shopping because it rarely happens anymore. I'd rather pay more to a small business that offers a great customer experience any day.
