We called and got pricing for both the pick up (early hour fee applied) and then they were going to sign her out of the hospital and bring her home to me (she was under anesthesia so she needed to be with a person during recovery). I was told that they use transport wheelchairs and they had a "no touch, no catch" policy. This I understood. The driver gave my mom a lecture about the ramp we have outside and she claims it is unsafe. First, no one wants to be lectured on the way to their heart procedure. Second, the ramp holds 800 pounds and was designed to be semi-portable. It has some flex when you get to the middle of it. Anyone who knows physics or understands statics and dynamics knows that flex is necessary by design. Inflexible items break. Buildings and bridges are built to sway; they remain intact because they are designed to flex rather than have a critical failure (I.e., break into pieces). The ramp is well constructed, has high ratings and was installed by a former NASA scientist. I think he'd have mentioned it if it was a serious problem. The day of the procedure, my mom was driven home. I am recovering from my own surgery and can't get outside. I heard my mom from where I'm at in the house. I could hear the driver on her cellphone but wasn't able to make out what was going on. Then came the lights. I had emergency vehicles in front of the house. Then it went dark and I was left in the house wondering what happened. My mother had fallen and hit her head. The driver had called 911. She had my number and had spoken with me previously, yet she left without ever calling me to tell me what happened. My mother was in a neck brace for hours before she could call me to tell me what had happened. So, as far as the quality of my mother's trip I would argue that she was taken to and from the hospital. She received an opinionated lecture from the driver who lacks any background of the specific ramp that we have. (She also gave her unasked for information about how to get rid of the second car in our two driveways.) At no time did she have the courtesy to call and let me know that she was not bringing my mom through the door for me to watch. She should have called to tell me that she fell and was on the way to the Emergency Department for scans to look for internal bleeding. Professionalism dictates that. But I would have thought that she could comprehend that you don't leave an individual hanging on wondering why their loved one never walked through the door. Will she get you from point A to B, likely. You'll be told along the way whatever it she feels needs fixing and how to do it. As mentioned, if your loved one doesn't walk through the door, do not expect her to tell you anything. Pray that you will get a call from your family member in a reasonable amount of time. I believe that people are generally decent until they prove themselves otherwise. Maybe this rating will give someone else pause to see that they are treated with respect from point of contact all the way through a completed job. Bottom line: they called 911 for my mother who had fallen on the deck right outside the door of the house. I'm recovering from surgery and was unable to get to that part of the house to figure out why I could hear them but my mom never came home. She lacked the professionalism and empathy to even call me or open the door to inform me that my mother was en route to the Emergency department for scans. My mother was in a neck brace for hours and unable to call me. So I sat for hours (after she was supposed to be home) wondering what had happened.

Asked for a quiet room not near elevator or ice machine - was given a cheaper room near the elevator and ice machine with a flooding bathroom and was told that was all that was available. Very disappointed especially as a Hilton Honors guest - very surprised Hilton allows this to happen. Also hotel is smoke free however the lobby and elevators reeked of smoke due to front desk staff chain smoking right outside the front door (leaving no one at the front desk). We have stayed at this hotel many times before and never had any issues - there must be new management/staff. Be careful and think twice about staying here. Deceitful staff with a condescending attitude - not a great role model for Hilton. Stay away.

The room was heavily deodorized to mask a problem. The applied scent bothered me. Luckily the windows could be opened (but only a crack). The true issue was with a mold issue that I couldn't see but could smell. I also got flu-like symptoms from it. The paint on the doors inside the room was sticky to touch too. I could hear traffic on the busy road near my room. Finally, the breakfast was lousy. The oatmeal was undercooked with a slimy liquid. Very disgusting. Box eggs and cheap salty sausage. The best thing was the prefab tater tots. I see that a fellow Yelper complained about a mildew smell 12 years ago!! So this issue has been ongoing. I learned that the night social only happens at this location on Wednesday nights. Final word, I wanted to make my own pancakes from scratch in my room until I saw the frying pan that the hotel provided in the room. Burnt, scratched nonstick pan. I would never use that pan. What a amazing experience. My wife and I went to Portland to visit Maine (we fell in love with it…read morea few years ago and wanted to check out Portland). She searched for things to do and found this tour and I am sure glad she did. We did the biking tour with Don and it was wonderful. Was able to taste some local mead, beer, and rum and see parts of Portland. He was extremely friendly, fun, and informative. I am not going to lie...I was a little bummed when my wife said she booked this tour instead of the earlier biking brewery tour (visit 3 local brewery's as opposed to our scheduled mead, beer, and rum tour). But it didn't matter, it was a amazing experience. In fact, our guide pointed out man local establishments on the tour that we tried the next day (cough..cough..Forage Market) and was amazed; it truly added to our Portland experience. And we have a tour for the next time we come. All in all...6 out of 5 stars for this organization. I wish I was able to post some pictures, but to be honest, I didn't think about it as I was immersed in the moment and enjoying every second of it. So when in Portland...book your tour, you won't be sorry.

I balanced researching reviews and prices, and finally ended up with Regal for the round trip. We had three cars pick up different groups from the airport, which all happened seamlessly. When you land, they give you a number to call, and drive from the taxi waiting area to the arrivals gate to pick you up. All our guests said the drivers were quick and kind. On the way back, we had an 8 passenger van reserved, but realized about three hours before pick-up that a 9th person needed a ride to boston. I figured it was worth a try, and when I called they said I could upgrade to a 12 person van for $5. Score! Everyone made it to their gate, and their travels were relatively seamless. We heard only good feedback of the service overall. I can't quite give them 5 stars because I haven't personally ridden in a Regal Limo, but they did an amazing job helping me transport my guests and I won't hesitate to call them next time I'm in need.
