AVOID THIS THIEF'S BY ALL COSTS…read more My appointment was booked by Sophie the receptionist, and I was informed my patch test is free and if I decided to go with further treatment I would be charged for it. she asked for upfront £50 deposit payment to secure my booking and she also confirmed my patch test is free with the consultation however the £50 would be kept on my account if I decided to go a head with future booking. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING BECUSE ITS A TRAP India the salon owner confirmed after, the FREE patch test mentioned patch test is NOT free and then charged me £50 for a small patch test on my finger, also she wanted more for the consultation which was deliverd very poorly and I refused to pay for it ,because no business charge for the patch test or the consultation. I been to few places before and what India was making out to avoid the refund was absolutely ridiculous, she made up some stupid invoice and emailed me , trying to justify shes done a favour otherwise she would have charged £80 in totall , for consultation and tiny patch test ! Her attitude and customer service was so bad that i would just avoid her. # No honour amongst thieves!! Due to tough times I understand clearly is been difficult financially for their business so happy help # CHARITY The business looks dead so they try to take what they can, just be aware of it...

Bristol Sk:n Clinic is upstairs at the very top of one of the buildings along Clare Street, and…read moreoffers all sorts of beauty treatments ranging from microdermabrasion to laser hair removal and new Isolaz acne therapy. If you're thinking about having any expensive skin therapies, this place comes highly recommended by a number of my friends who've had various successful treatments here, including microdermabrasion and acne treatment - and I can vouch myself for the staff being very helpful in advising on skincare products that they sell, too. If you have a specific skin condition such as acne or scarring, they offer special skincare ranges for these - and if you're considering an expensive treatment they often offer promotional packages for a series at a reduced price. These are well worth looking out for (or asking about) because some treatments such as microdermabrasion are only really effective if you have a series of sessions - and you could end up saving yourself hundreds of pounds. What I particularly like about Sk:n is that all the staff I've ever encountered there have been really friendly and helpful; they're not intimidating in any way (unlike staff in some beauty salons!) and they offer Sunday appointments (and late night opening from Monday-Thursday!), which is very handy if you're busy working most of the week.

I have been to this place for 3 times, the last being today. I had an appointment at 6pm and they…read moremade me wait for 25 MINUTES! Considering that my treatment only lasts for 15 minutes, this is an unacceptable waiting time. On top of all that, they have refused to give my student discount. OK, I know that they need to see my student card (I forgot it at home today) but this was not the first time I was going there and they knew that I was a student (even from my email address it is obvious). At the end of the day, I think I am paying a good deal of money and I deserve more respect in return. I am definitely not going there again. There are many places out there to get the same treatment!

I normally love The Body Shop. Recently (in the last year or so), I've taken to being an absolute…read moreskincare freak - I have really sensitive skin that dries out easily, so after visiting 1 particular Body Shop (one in San Francisco's Westfield Centre, amazing if you ever visit SF) I've become obsessed. MUST. KEEP. MOISTURISING. In comparison to other Body Shops I've been to, this particular one is a little bit on the smaller side. However, it still gets the job done. ~ Atmosphere: As I mentioned, it's a bit smaller than other Body Shops so the selection is very limited. However, it's still worth a browse and the staff here do keep this place clean and smelling like heaven. There's plenty of free samples for you to try and the store is mainly organised by fragrance rather than function. For instance, you would have a shelf dedicated to the cocoa butter scent (my personal favourite) and they would have cocoa butter body lotion, hand moisturiser, and perfume all in the same location. I really like this setup because if you're obsessed with one particular scent, you can come out with a huge haul with everything associated with that scent. ~ Customer Service: The staff are friendly. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help but I declined. The only negative aspect is that they were a bit unprofessional, chatting loudly about their personal lives and some drama that was going on. Not very great when it comes to creating a pleasant environment, instead I just felt a tiny bit awkward. However, I can't hate on them too much since like I said, they were friendly people. --- Basically, as far as Body Shops go, this is on the less impressive side of the spectrum. However, it still has a decent stock for basic needs and gets the job done.

I don't even know where to start…read more I am a self-confessed beauty junkie, and Kiehl's is my drug of choice, so if budget allowed, I'd buy my entire skincare regime from this delightful counter in John Lewis. For now, it's just essentials like face cream and serums, but I have sampled most of their products, so I'll just keep this fairly simple: They. Are. Amazing. From shampoos to self-tan, Kiehl's provide a range of skin and hair products from naturally derived ingredients. Fellas, they haven't forgotten about you, either. Kiehl's offers a range of male grooming products from shave cream to hair wax. What really won me over was the sales assistant's attentive service, cheerfully explaining answers to each of my questions. Even better, when I signed up to their mailing list, I received a hand-written (!!!) letter thanking me, in addition to three samples of their most popular products. You'll also enjoy invites to product launches and beauty evenings, which typically are held a few times a year and includes treatments like facials, massages, as well as goody bags.

I was therefore very pleased when I heard that John Lewis in Cardiff would be selling Kiehl's products. The staff at the Kiehl's counter are always helpful & provide good service. Their products aren't cheap, but good quality. I regularly pop in to John Lewis when I need something and enjoy sampling new items when they are launched. Their men's line is fab; "Facial Fuel" face wash, exfoliant & anti-wrinkle cream are my staples. I also like the shampoos & "Stylist Series" products, body cleansers & the new "Cross Terrain" range. Would recommend this store for a good shopping experience.

They are…read more'dedicated to creating awareness of the benefits of Complementary Therapies, Ayurveda, Yoga and more'. Positioned around the corner from The Feet and Face Place, which provides a plethora of treatments that deal with looking good on a pretty superficial basis, I have to admit preferring the Gaia approach to health and beauty. It's not as flash as The Feet and Face Place, but it offers curative treatments as well as the purely cosmetic. It also provides Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle consultations, which deal with health and beauty on an essential level. (One thing in their favour is that the The Feet and Face Place offer Reflexology, which certainly does work on a more profound level than their other treatments). The Gaia Lifestyle Centre in Pontcanna operates an appointment only system, (as does their other clinic). They do not provide a reception as such, and so bookings are made with the individual practioners. A full list is available on their well maintained website. www.gaialifestyle.com/

Ayurvedic massages are meant to be incorporated into part of an overall treatment programme, often also incorporating yoga and nutritional advice. The practitioner at Gaia starts off by having a consultation with you about your lifestyle and then goes on to suggest massage treatments, and offers advice about yoga practice and nutrition. What I am most keen to tell everyone about, however, is the divine Ayurvedic Shirodhara treatment available here. This is also known as the 'third eye drip', which sounds far less appealing than it actually is! Basically, you start off enjoying a face, neck and scalp massage, and then the practitioner sets off a flow of warm oil onto your third eye on your forehead, creating the most unbelievable feeling of relaxation and peacefulness. I would actually go as far as to say this treatment totally transports you elsewhere, inducing a kind of dream like state without actually sending you to sleep. I can't recommend it highly enough, based on my own experiences!
