I had Johnathan, the boss come out a couple weeks before to evaluate and give me an estimate. He went the extra mile and did a little repair on a couple of leaky spots. Owning property is never a dull moment!…read more During a heavy storm, the tenant in my loft let me know that there was water dripping inside along the wall. The age of the roofs on the property is unknown and always being concerned for ANY leaks, I immediately got into Yelp to put out a project request to find a roofer. Storm Damage responded right away on a Sunday and was able to meet the next day to give an onsite estimate. Given the steep roofline of the barn house style roofing and immediate need given another upcoming storm, the quote was definitely reasonable. Given the short notice and upcoming weather, they put a tarp across the roof to prevent anymore leaking. At the first break in the weather 2 days later, they were on it and got to work. It's a tight area around the unit, so giving a heads up to my neighbors was important. That said, they cleaned up all debris on my side and my neighbors as if they were never there! Huge!!! I have a roof on the main property and a permanent shed left to do. I will be sure to call them back for the next jobs. Thank you guys!!!

Let me start this review with the disclaimer that I did not end up using Evergreen's services. Due…read moreto price constraints of insurance only covering our interior repairs costs due to a roof leak, we had to stretch our budget and found a slightly better quote. However, I thought it necessary to give Matt at Evergreen a big shout-out for his estimate process on 9/11/18 for several highlighted reasons: 1) Aside from the roofer we went with, Matt was the only other one who investigated the leak from the inside. I had offered the same option to the first 2 companies who gave estimates, & even to the insurance company's roof inspector, but all declined. Plus, Matt asked about looking at the interior of the leak area before I even advised of the crawlspace option. 2) Matt only sold me on fixing just the leaky area and resulting rot, rather than re-flashing the whole roof line, which had been the go-to (and more expensive) fix thrown out by others. 3) Matt was generous enough to throw together a makeshift patch while he was there, since Hurricane Florence was approaching that weekend and we weren't going to be able to get the leak fixed ahead of the storm. 4) Above all, Matt was nice and respectful, and gave off a very trustworthy vibe just from a few minutes of interaction. A re-read of his other reviews showed many experiences similar to mine with above & beyond work, but without overselling or fixing unnecessary things. Although we didn't go with Matt for our project, you can feel confident if you choose him for your roofing needs!

The estimate was scheduled promptly and the estimator was friendly but kept pushing drippage rails on us saying it required by NC building codes and we would not get a warranty on the new roof if it was not installed which we found out later was not true. It is RECOMMNEDED but not required by NC building codes. On top of that their estimate was the highest of all the estimates we received and $3,300 higher than the roofing company we went with to install our new roof. That's a lot of money we saved to put into another project on the house. Follow up to owner's comments: If drip rails are required by Nc building code as you claim then why did none of the other estimates we received even mention them?? Much less tell us that we needed them to get the warranty on our new roof? Maybe that why your estimate was so much higher than any of the other estimates we received.
