I have visited Gusto's twice now. The first time My husband had a pasta dish and I had a sandwich made with a very thin crisp bread. My sandwich tasted good but was exceptionally small for the price, the pasta was OK but came with no side salad or bread it was very expensive for what it was. The food in the deli downstairs looks so good I thought we might have cought them on a bad day or ordered badly, so I gave them another chance last week with a friend. She had soup and I had a goats cheese crostini salad. The soup was bland and barely warm and the goats cheese salad was pathetically small for £9 - It was barely acceptable as a starter (yet still very expensive) and certainly not big enough for lunch. We did send the soup back and were offered something else from the menu but all too late and so we ordered garllic bread - it was average. Overall I will not return, the food is very expensive which I wouldn't mind if it were better and larger - the portions are simply too small. read more

Discovered Gusto by chance when looking for somewhere to sit out of the cold wind! There are a few tables outside (with blankets provided!) so that you can watch the comings & going by some of Cheltenham's more exclusive shops in Montpelier. On the groundfloor there is a food counter and lots of (quite expensive) Italian foodstuffs - fresh pasta, dried tomatoes, olives etc. The cafe seating area is up a narrow, bendy flight of stairs so isn't suitable for anyone with mobility problems. There aren't many tables and the layout is fairly basic. It soon got busy and we had to sit close to the next tables so we could hear everone else's conversations, whether we wanted to or not. Staff were polite & friendly and service quite quick. Thought it was a bit pricey - 9 pounds for a small cappuchino, a hot chocolate, a glass of milk and one pain au chocolat. read more
