Minnesota State University Mankato has probably the worst Elementary Education program. Do not be…read morefooled. The experience up until I became acquainted with Trish Arnold and Lisa Vasquez was great (i.e., the first 2-3 years). They are threatening and will do everything they can to get you OUT of the program. Dr. Vasquez is quite possibly the worst professor (read reviews on Rate My Professor and take them all VERY seriously) and Dr. Arnold is the worst counselor. Dr. Vasquez is the most discriminatory teaching teacher they could possibly hire. Dr. Vasquez and Dr. Arnold work together to make you feel inadequate. They are not supportive and you do not get an opportunity to learn. If you make any kind of mistake, you are dropped from the entire program you worked at for three years. And when I say mistake, I mean the smallest of mistakes. They set you up for failure instead of success. I do not know how two people who are there to teach teachers are even in this position. I would go to any other school possible!

Local state institution an hour away from the Twin Cities. I like the student involvement on…read morecampus. The majority of the buildings are wel maintained. Parking is a hassle and I have issues with the payment and where the guest parking spots are at on this campus. The student union is decent with plenty of student activities and outside events being hosted here. Overall, it was a decent visit here.

Her counselor at her school had to drop it for her and wasn't able to do it until the following week and apparently they give you less than 5 days to do it. Now we have a $100 fine for a high school student who doesn't even attend there and when we called we got nothing but negative attitude and an unwillingness to help. Doesn't seem to follow Christian values to have posted all over their webpage. Shame

The tour consisted of a welcome folder, free donuts, pastries, juice, bottled water. Then a power point video about the school and a walking tour. The media TV production area was really cool. My son didn't care for the small dorms or really small fitness areas. But they are building on and will be done in 2022 or 2023. We enjoyed a free lunch. The admissions guy answered a lot of questions. The chapel was really nice. The cost was very affordable for a private college. I would have totally went here 30 years ago. They really emphasize small class sizes and you get to know your professors well. This might be a great college option for the right person.

It was one of my most unpleasant college visit ever…read more People seem really rich and like they don't like academics because many of them are from Edina. Kudos on the dry campus though. It really seems to help with school spirit. Having to endure a Minnesota winter without alcohol builds character. Also government scientists say alcohol and cold don't mix and you can't be in Minnesota without cold. Carleton has cuter ducks in their lakes though. My son visited here recently and he told me he would give the school a resounding "meh".
