While in Arbedeen for work, 8848 was recommended to me by more than one individual. I headed over…read moreto check it out on a Tuesday. Upon entering I was great by a warm smile and a helpful manor from the staff. The atmosphere was a confused mix in an attempt to be upscale contemporary crossed with leftover Asian knick-knacks. I ordered a bottle of 2014 Cabernet for 45 eros. I am accustomed to spending money on good wine but the waiter brought a 2011 (which was a horrible year) without alerting me of the change. After tasting the waiter confirmed the mistake and brought me a different bottle since they were out of the requested wine. For an app, I had the dumplings with lamb. These were fantastic. Highly recommend these if you are knowledgeable about properl

Again one of those places that I'm jot sure about if it's my taste, wrong choice or just unlucky -…read morebut in my case this place didn't leave a wow effect on me. It is a great shame as it was rated quite well from our friends and even my partner really enjoyed the FOOD. My starter (duck) was very dry small on some decoration that was very dry with lot of onion (not sure maybe that's how it should be?? - some modest local food, but then it shouldn't cost that much). My main and peshwari bread was just OK because I couldn't taste any flavour much in it.. But! Be prepared for generous portions and spicy will be indeed spicy }:) However be also aware that the TIMING might leave you quite inpatient and hungry - as it was in our case and another table (who complained to my boyfriend at the restroom :D ) we were waiting for around 45/50 mins for starter and the main wasn't much shorter. Therefore one star less. ATMOSPHERE - I think this place tries to get the posh vibe with high ceilings crystal chandeliers - clean look with pictures of Everest and Nepal on the wall (8848 being the height of Everest in meters) & SERVICE was pleasant/funny, however they seemed to be a bit nervous/shaky at times and brought us coffee that was swimming on its plate (details such this are nice to fix if you are trying for expensive look, but even in general it doesn't hurt to bring a napkin at least). In general - not really VALUE for money for me, but others might enjoy. I'm leaving the other star for next time, if there is any, to find out whether it is me or the food and the time improvement.

DO NOT USE The Everest Restaurant I placed an online order…read morewith Just Eat early afternoon on 31 December for delivery at 7pm. The order was acknowledged by the restaurant at 5.30pm and around 6.50pm the Just Eat site was updated that the food was on its way. By 8pm still no delivery, went onto the Just Eat site to advise delivery was late, received a text a couple of minutes later to advise that it would be delivered at 8.15pm. At 9pm the food still hadn't been delivered and despite calling the restaurant over 30 times they didn't answer their phone or the line was busy. My friend Louise ended up driving us to the restaurant to be told that the food was on its way. I got given a bottle of wine to apologise and pushed towards the door to get us to leave. It's now around 9.30pm and we told them that we were not leaving as the restaurant closes at 10pm and there would be no way of getting our food then! We told them that we called them numerous times but no answer or lines busy and he gestured towards 6 telephones on the bar, Louise phoned the restaurant right in front of his face and none of the phones rang! An older gentleman then rang the delivery driver who said that he was on his way to mine after his next delivery. We arrived back to mine at 9.40pm and the driver was 10 minutes after us. 2 x poppadoms, salad and my vegetable chilli garlic dish were missing and the food was cold. Also when we were there a lad came in to find out where his order was - it was supposed to be delivered at 5pm! I will never use this restaurant again. Such a shame as the service used to be really good.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. We happened by here after other options fell through and…read moreconsider it a fortunate happening. The chicken momo (dumplings) and duck chhoila starters were flavorful and fresh. The momo were nice chicken and vegetable dumplings served with a mildly spiced curry sauce. The chhoila had mustard seed in it which, when drizzled with the accompanying lemon, was cut nicely and gave off great flavors. We also had the achari chicken, Everest mix special, and dansak chicken. Each came separately in lovely metal dishes with unique sauces and a heating tray underneath to keep them warm throughout the meal. The meal also came with some of the best naan we've had and some very good saffron pilau rice. We cleaned our plates and left very satisfied and happy after a night that began a little unpleasant from having the other dinner options not work out. The staff was very attentive and engaging without being overbearing or hovering. They seemed to have perfect management in telling them when to come to the table. The manager was very professional and exceptionally helpful. This is a fairly new restaurant, the manager said they've only been open four weeks. I would get here fast before they become booked solid. Thank you to The Everest waitstaff, bar staff and kitchen for such a wonderful and memorable experience!
