I don't mind paying extra for good attorneys, but I expect BASIC details to be included in basic court documents. Attention to basic, normal, details. Case one, mediation with exhusband on a child custody case to resolve harassment. In doing this, the child custody order was redone with new changes. However, they missed details and didn't include a prior agreement for dad to pay half of all child activity expenses. Ex immediately noticed the mistake in his favor after everything was sign sealed and delivered. As this was not an issue being altered, I didn't think to read to ensure it was in the docs correctly - I counted on my expensive attorneys to handle issues on my behalf. On a second child custody case with my new baby, after a 12 hour mediation and paying for AND insisting Draper attorneys do the final order docs (as I didn't trust opposing counsel's attorney), Not only did I not feel like my attorney fully had my back asking I back down just to get it over with, she didn't even include the rotating claiming of our kid on taxes in alternating years in the court order. So it had to be renegotiated after the order where he tried to claim his CPA said he was owed the right to claim each year because he made more money, but when we did agree they provided no formal agreement signed by parties just an email agreement but even then - no followup to confirm an agreement was struck BUT did let me know a bill was due. Now I'm being threatened by said "coparent" with tax audits and will have to hire an attorney and go back to court against a man who can burn money. The images attached are AFTER mediation and the court order so they can't respond and blame anyone but themselves. Or say I wasn't a client. I should have had more backbone at the time and pushed them to formally fix immediately but I was distraught, full of cortisol, and felt like a POW with PTSD coming out of mediation. AND they were still billing me making up for their mistake. Not to mention the thousands paid in activity costs for 2 kids on the other case they messed up. Just because a bunch of moms in a Facebook group tag Holly Draper because she answers free questions there (or used to) that doesn't mean they are good attorneys with attention to detail. Very disappointed as I thought the higher cost came with better attorneys.

First they state a free consultation in which we found is the only way that is true is if you have actually been arrested otherwise you pay so we had to pay 500.00 to the criminal lawyer whose name is Reynie Tinajero ( in which he was very friendly ) But his information we pretty much already knew because again we knew we were only there so we could be educated on our legal rights . Fast forward to the end of the consultation he suggested we consult to the CPS attorney which name is Alyce Ferguson for a 30 minute consultation will cost us 250.00 and it's not even a in person consultation it was an over the phone consultation so she states from point A to point B it will be cleared up for 1,500 because her fee is 500.00 a hour so instead of us paying as we go she says it has to be paid all at once . So again, we pay it this was all done in 1 day which was on a Monday June 2.2025 to be exact so by this point within 1 hour and 30 minutes we have offically paid 2,250 that was not expected at all. Tuesday June 3rd, we agree to meet this is where it takes a turn for the worse she is 10 minutes late she stays maybe 40 minutes and leaves as she is leaving CPS calls, and we agree to meet on Friday June 7 she states we will touch base Wednesday, we exchange text that morning and that's all Thursday morning a few more text at this point I tell her i need to actually speak with you because you were hired to give me peace of mind and you have me feeling as if I am a criminal so she states she's in court all day so that's fine just when you are available so she calls 20 minutes later and all is well Friday comes she shows up at 1:00 our meeting is 1:30 with CPS so that's great but we literally are just sitting here while she is on the phone with another client apologizing to them about something and using words like prison and so on that we do not even use in front of our children (totally unprofessional) while she's stating she has another appointment to get to so CPS comes all is well 15 minutes later during the visit she gets up and states she has to get to her next appointment so can we call her and have it on speaker so sure of course well little did we know while on speaker the phone hangs up. At this point although our meeting is going well i didn't want to make the wrong move so i call her back-to-back and get nothing but a voicemail and a text 2 minutes later saying i will touch base all is well and thats it now of course the sweet CPS lady gave us all the good news we needed but this lawyer failed us even though we knew it was going to be a closed case she made us more nervous like how things can get twisted and all the above. I usually would not leave a review like this however in this case its necessary because CPS can be serious and be scary but what if a family is less fortunate and actually don't have the money to pay or have to borrow or etc. All I'm saying is do your research first please. although each individual was very nice this just was not right, we are still out of 500.00 because she literally never spent more than a total 2 hours with us. Our initial negative review regarded Brian emailing us our fee agreement (to represent us) in which his retainer fee increased 500%. (from $500 to $3000) When he sent the fee agreement he did not volunteer an explanation regarding the substantial increase in fees. I replied and kindly asked him to please explain the increase in fees as well as to express my desire to still hire him after the fee discrepancy had been reconciled. His response to that email also did not provide any explanation for the fee increase. He replied instead that he, due to taking on "some rather large clients," no longer had "the time to devote to your matter." Subsequently my wife posted our initial negative Google review commenting on the fee increase. Brian then threatened us with a demand letter via email threatening a $75k lawsuit if we didn't remove the review within 24 hrs. Upon updating our review with information clearly stating his threats he sent a following amended demand letter via email increasing the suit to $150k. In the amended demand letter email he suggested that we "retain counsel to defend yourselves." We have done exactly that.
