I don't even know where to begin…read more I came to see Maha a couple years ago complaining of severe bloating, abdominal pain and diarrhea. We met to go over my symptoms more carefully and potential reasons for this constant discomfort. Maha recommended food allergy testing to see if my symptoms were related to something I was eating, which made sense in my mind since it was stomach-related. So I did the test, left her office, and waited for the IgG food allergy results. Including the consultation and allergy test, I owed about $500 after our first meeting. I was so desperate I didn't even care. I am a student, clearly don't have a lot of money, but I felt it was my only option so I was willing to pay anything. A couple weeks later I received an e-mail of my results. I opened the document and was shocked. According to this report, I was basically allergic to everything: gluten, dairy, eggs and even random food like bananas! If anyone is interested I can send you my report. It is shocking. After reviewing the results on my own I returned to meet Maha. She confirmed the test results and said i should ELIMINATE all of these food that I was "highly allergic" too. I followed her recommendation (being so desperate for help from my discomfort) hoping that drastically altering my diet would provide me with some relief. Initially meeting Maha at 105 pounds (5'8) I was very slim from the constant bloating which suppressed by appetite. I followed Maha's recommendations for nearly a year hoping it would help over time. It didn't. Needless to say, I deprived myself from several food groups hoping to eliminate my symptoms but they still persisted. I never saw Maha during this year because I couldn't afford it. Months later, at 95lbs, I needed help. My family was concerned for my health because I continued to lose weight. I ended up seeing a new GP in Toronto, who told me that food allergy testing is "invalid". When I heard this, I was in shock. There I was with my 3pg report showing him all the foods that I am allergic too and he told me that this form of food allergy testing is basically "not scientifically supported". I had no idea about this, taking Maha's words that the test was valid. See other stories if interested: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/health-and-fitness/tests-for-food-allergies-sensitivities-a-waste-of-money-doctor-says/article535082/ My GP told me to start reintroducing these foods, in order to help broaden my diet and help me gain back weight. He also noted something that Maha had never emphasized before, this being "the mind-body connection". To make a long story shorter, my abdominal discomfort and constant diarrhea was the result of chronic anxiety, not food allergies. Now taking Zoloft, my symptoms have subsided. I am gaining weight back and am able to participate in normal everyday activities that I used to miss out on because I was constantly ill. Maha did not inform me about the validity of food allergy testing. Being so desperate for answers, I took her word for it and literally deprived myself of essential food groups. I basically paid Maha hundred of dollars for her to misinform me, and ruin a year of my life.

I appreciated her warmth and compassion, along with her high professionalism and competency. Maha Nasr is a licensed nutritionalist. However, her medical degree from a renowned school and her experience as a physician set her apart. She stresses she is not practicing as a physician and does not prescribe medications. I highly recommend Maha Nasr and her stance that proper nutrition can turn around health conditions that pharmaceuticals fail to prevent or cure. S. Zikry, Ph.D.

I had the initial consultation with Julie, and right away I could see that she's very supportive & helpful. She doesn't try to give you a fixed diet plan but understands what you need and want. She also makes sure that she teaches you the right way to think about nutrition rather than just counting or limiting calories. All the rest of my sessions have been with Lyndsay. She is a ROCKSTAR!! I am very happy with the guidance and support I have been getting from her since last year. She is very warm, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, always gives great suggestions and tweaks on what eating habits to change or improve on. Specifically, since I'm Indian and do a lot of Indian food, Lyndsay was able to equip me with tips and tricks on what serving sizes to have, what food swaps to make, snacking habits etc to make sure that I could see huge improvements. This is huge since it was very customized and I never had to stop eating any food group or my favourite foods. The best part about Lyndsay is that she always explains the why behind her suggestions which helps me truly learn nutrition and makes it easier to build habits and see results. Lyndsay is always there for you with her knowledge and guidance to make sure that you have everything you need. I highly highly recommend Lyndsay & Julie to anyone who's tired of random dieting and needs help to make a lifestyle change and see results!

I cannot emphasize how much improvement I've seen as a direct result of incorproating the knowledge from my sessions with Lyndsay. My symptoms are under control, I feel less fatigued, I have more energy and I actually enjoy eating now. I appreciate that Lyndsay's always answered my questions thoroughly and in a manner that's clear and easy to understand. I also appreciate that despite our cultural differences, she had a vast working knowledge on spices, herbs and ingredients my households traditionally uses. Most impressive is her knowledge pertaining to my specific health condition (which is a bit complex). I strongly recommend JM Nutrition and not only because Lyndsay is brilliant and clearly invested in your health but also because Julie, owner/operator, is very pleasant to work with as well.

Dr Stephanie and Dr Elke had him crawling after 2 visits and he hasn't had another ear infection. He was getting sick 2x/month and has only had one cold since he started going for regular adjustments. He loves his appointments and the atmosphere is very warm and fun. I feel very comfortable with the work that is being done with him. Nothing is aggressive or invasive. Dr Stephanie has also suggested supplements for him and I. I will be bringing my older daughter to the clinic soon as well as I am very pleased with the results and preventative nature of this practice. Next will be myself and my husband but parents come last. Lol

My review is solely on my experience of massage therapy…read more I had a massage with Candice and as per The Health Loft Website: Candice's style is set to a slow pace, methodical and meticulous, she like to work deep and precise. Her most influential teacher comes to her from Thailand and it's this style that she resonates with most. Doing over two hundred and fifty hours of training in Thailand and India she uses prolonged acupressure and stretching to open up specific energy lines in the body. Also trained in Reiki levels 1 and 2 she incorporates these techniques within all her treatments. The Health Loft is located on Stewart St. just a few minutes walk from King and Bathurst. It is an all women's clinic and along with massage therapy they offer acupuncture, chiropractic services and orthotics. Upon entering I received a friendly greeting and smelled a scent that was reminiscent to minty chocolate. You can schedule your appointments online through their website and for your first visit they will send you forms to complete ahead of time and bring to your appointment or email back to them. In the event that you forget to do so (like I did) you should arrive about 10 mins early to complete the forms. After I completed the forms I was escorted by my massage therapist to the therapy room and had a brief discussion of what areas I wanted worked on and the amount of pressure I prefer. This was by far the best massage I've had in recent memory and have already scheduled my next couple of visits! If you are a woman that lives in the neighbourhood I would recommend checking it out. The massage therapists are registered RMTs so you can submit your claims to insurance if you have coverage.
