We were referred to Gulrukh by a family member and she was actually the only realtor we formally interviewed, although we had talked with other realtors at open houses. She so clearly cares about what you value and wants to make it happen for you, but is honest about what is realistic and what to expect, a combination that is essential for first time home buyers in the Bay Area market. Gulrukh was also so available, even when traveling or dealing with an emergency in her family (!), always super on top of things and ready with the next steps. She helped guide us through the process while minimizing the stress and making sure we were both informed and prepared every step of the way. Gulrukh was a joy to work with and we would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a realtor in the East Bay! read more

Having Gulrukh Lindsay in your corner when trying to buy a home in this market is like having pocket aces. Being a first-time buyer in this historically challenging real-estate market isn't easy. There's so much to navigate, and everything moves so quickly--it can be seriously overwhelming. Our situation was particularly complicated as we were looking for a multi-family home with finances coming from multiple parties. In spite of all the chaos, Gulrukh helped us land our dream house (two houses on one lot, actually) and she was perfect every step of the way. What makes Gulrukh stand apart from the crowd is her grace and professionalism under pressure. Throughout our search I was often under-educated or under-prepared, but Gulrukh always put in the extra effort to get us answers to our questions, buy us a little more time, and advocate on our behalf whenever we needed something. When our offer on this property was finally accepted (with contingencies no less!), there were a few times throughout ESCROW when I suspect that any other agent would have lost their cool, but never Gulrukh. She weathered it all with such patience and sensitivity, guiding us every step of the way. She was there with champagne and gifts when we finally signed the title, and she and our loan officer laughingly admitted it was by far their "favorite" sale of the year. It's been six months since we closed on this property, and my dream of raising my son around his family unfolds every morning. My sister pops over from her house across the courtyard and we have our morning coffee while we get my son ready from school. If my folks are here, they help make breakfast. I still can't believe we got this amazing place, and there's no way it would have happened without Gulrukh. She is the real deal! read more

Gulrukh is amazing. We were introduced to her a year and a half ago by the seller's agent for a house we were interested in. We were first time home buyers. Over the past year, Gulrukh has educated us on the Oakland real estate market, guided our search, set expectations, and proactively provided us with data and information all along the way to help us understand each decision. More than that, she worked hard to understand our needs and gently steered us away from homes that weren't likely to be a wise investment for us, based on those needs. There was never any pressure. When we wanted to take a break, she went along with that and jumped right back in when we were ready to resume our search. As you probably know, the East Bay real estate market is highly competitive. We ended up in a great house in a lovely area, and I don't think we could have done it without her. Like another reviewer mentioned, she helped us with strategies to make our offers competitively and that was instrumental to us getting our home. She also seems to be always growing her network, and recommended great resources for our loan and structural engineer. I can tell she really aims to connect to other professionals who are similarly excellent in their domains so she can make quality recommendations to her clients. We really appreciated how honest -- and patient! -- she was with us through the entire search. I doubt we were the easiest clients to work with, but she is such a professional and clearly really cares that her clients find the right home for them. She's also meticulous, which I especially appreciated because I am not. She's really easy to work with, passionate about her job, and if you meet her you know she's someone with a lot of integrity. If you're looking for an agent, I highly recommend Gulrukh. read more

My partner and I worked with Farrah and Gulrukh as first time home buyers, and it was a wonderful experience. Buying a new home in the bay area seemed like an impossible task, but they were so incredibly supportive. From our first meeting in their office, we could tell that not only were they incredibly knowledgeable, ethical, thorough, and professional, but also that they cared about who we were and what we wanted. They listened to our concerns and were able to suggest neighborhoods we hadn't considered that met our needs. They also had great recommendations for lenders and inspectors. We ended up working with Gulrukh most often, and she was incredible. It doesn't seem like she ever rests. Her response time on email and over the phone was amazing, and she was incredibly flexible in terms of meeting us to show us houses or taking calls even if she was in transit. Whenever we were ready to make an offer, her depth of research on comparables and her attention to detail in the disclosures were invaluable. Both of them also supported us through buyer's fatigue beautifully, were never pushy, and helped guide us towards making strong offers at our own pace. We feel so fortunate to have had the experience of working with these two amazingly warm, experienced, hard-working, and supportive individuals. We now own a beautiful home thanks to them. We can't recommend them highly enough! read more

We were looking into buying our first home and not sure where to start, have met with Gulrukh at an open house and after talking to her briefly about the house market were convinced she would be the perfect person that can help us find a house. She was very knowledgeable and knew all the areas in the east bay. During our house hunt, she was very realistic with us on the expectation that the housing market is very competitive but by guiding us through the steps on how to search, examine the property properly, put offers at the right time made everything go by very smooth and we were not caught off guard. The best aspect Gulrukh she is very responsive/professional when we had questions about certain properties in seeing and arranged for us to see them immediately. When we found our house she provided the steps in her handbook on what to do when purchasing a house, that cut our time in half in going through escrow, making a counteroffer, and signing all the paperwork. Plus she recommended top lenders to use that helped us get our house at a fast rate. I highly recommend Gulrukh Lindsay at Pacific Union as she super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable on all aspect of finding a house. Thank you again Gulrukh, we are very happy with our new home! read more

I worked with Gulrukh and her partner Farrah and they were fantastic. I was approaching the market as a first time buyer and a little nervous. I work in the non-profit activism work and so my attention is pretty focused there. It was important to me to work with someone willing to make sure I got the support I needed to fit my budget and home goals. This market is tough and one of the things I loved from them both was just real talk on what to expect and when my expectations weren't right. This market is moving fast and while looking the number of rooms I was looking for had to change because I was priced out. They were both willing to prod me into looking at a few homes i wouldn't have originally considered. Because of that and their hard work I am writing this from my new home. Which feels like an amazing feat in the bay area at this point. I don't think you'll be disappointed to work with them and send me a message if you have questions. read more

There is not an infographic on Pinterest or List-icle on BuzzFeed to prepare you for the home buying process in the Bay Area. Competition is insane, and it really feels like EVERYONE else is in a better position than you to buy a home. As first-time home buyers, we came loaded with questions and Gulrukh immediately set our expectations with the facts and plenty of resources to guide us along this journey. Once we looked at the numbers, the likelihood of finding our perfect home felt daunting and the whole thing felt overwhelming. Gulrukh was always there to answer any little question, for the 3rd time! (No, the garage is not included in the sq ft) She listened to our concerns and provided actionable advice to get our answers. As a REALTOR, she wasn't here to find us a home, she was here to help us find out what we needed in a home. The rest is really based on your budget! I appreciated her insights on East Bay neighborhoods and her accessibility; she worked at our comfort level and never once pressured us into something we weren't interested in. Her guidance was critical in us finding our first home in an area that best suited our needs, at the best possible price! I highly recommend Gulrukh for her patience, knowledge and fierce negotiation skills. read more

My wife and I just had a baby and our small Berkeley apartment was no longer sufficient, so we decided to see what we could do about getting a house. As anyone from the area knows, buying a house in the Bay Area is a daunting task. Aside from the very high cost of homes, one has to deal with limited inventory, a culture of waiving contingencies, huge competition (many bringing all cash offers), and lots of differences from city to city which greatly affect closing costs (and thus, what we could afford). We needed to go the classic mortgage route so were a little unnerved trying to enter the market. We heard about Gulrukh from our friends who just bought a home in Richmond, so we reached out and let her know that we were starting to think about getting a home, but knew nothing about the process or realistically what we could afford. She got back to us right away, and we met in person in Oakland to discuss things. She was prepared with lots of information and walked us through EVERYTHING -- seriously we were there for a couple hours asking questions (she also had no problems with our baby who we had to bring along!). Gulrukh is great because she will go at your pace. If you're in a hurry, she'll help you get a place in a hurry. If you're not, she's good with that too. There was never any pressure to act on anything or to put an offer in on a place that we weren't super excited about. On top of Gulrukh's expertise is access to her network. Gulrukh put us in contact with a mortgage broker who was key in figuring out what we could afford in terms of a loan and who was on top of things from that angle. The two worked together a lot during the process to make our lives easier, especially as issues arose later in the process with a low appraisal (which they solved). We ended up putting an offer on two places, the second of which was our "dream home". Gulrukh had a lot of strategies in mind to make our offer more competitive without giving up all of our contingencies. In the end, despite a highly competitive house with 6+ offers, it was these strategies that ended up getting us the keys. Now, months later, we are still greatly enjoying our home and falling in love with it more and more each day. Outside of her real estate expertise and acumen, Gulrukh was in general a pleasure to work with. She is extremely responsive to emails, phone calls, texts, etc. This includes mornings, nights, weekends... any time. I have no idea when she takes a break! I can't recommend Gulrukh enough. She made things easy for us in one of the most difficult real estate markets in the world. You will not regret using her to get you in your dream home. read more

We just moved into our first home we purchased with the support of our agent, Gulrukh Lindsay, and we cannot recommend her services enough. We met with three different agents, and Gulrukh stood out for her considerable knowledge and impressive preparation. The home search process, especially in the Bay Area, is bound to be stressful, but having an agent who is knowledgeable, meticulous, kind, hard-working, and persistent makes all the difference. Gulrukh is all of that and more. While we were stressed, Gulrukh was persistently grounded, encouraging, committed, and flexible. It was a true pleasure working with her, and we would recommend her without hesitation. read more

She was super helpful, very good at explaining things to us novice home-buyers.... she ended up helping us get a great house at a great price for the area (considering the current market). Definitely would recommend her to anyone looking to buy a home! read more

My husband and I worked with Gulrukh and her partner Farrah to buy our first house, and we are extremely satisfied! They both went above and beyond with helping us find our house before it even hit the market! They wrote a strong offer, got the offer in very quickly, and ultimately were hugely instrumental in our offer being accepted. During the house hunting process, they took us to any house that we were interested in, created a spreadsheet of listings we liked, and once we were ready to put in an offer they even worked through their dinners to make sure our offer was written just right to be highly competitive and submitted on time. Farrah's excellent reputation and strong ties to the East Bay real estate community and Gulrukh's quick follow-up time with any questions or needs we had along the way made them the perfect team to guide us through this process. They also provided amazing referrals to lenders and inspection service providers who were reliable and moved as fast as they did to make sure that the closing process went very smoothly. After we finally closed on the house, they even gave us a personalized basket of hand-picked items when we picked up our keys! We feel so lucky to have worked with Gulrukh and Farrah and highly recommend both of them to anyone looking for a realtor in the Bay area! read more

Gulrukh Lindsay - Here is a picture of our new house! Gulrukh and Farrah found and wrote the offer for us on it. We are so grateful to have worked with them. - Real Estate Agents Near Me

After attending a slew of open houses on a whim, the listing agent at the first home that made our hearts beat faster referred my husband and me to Gulrukh. We're so glad she did. We were absolutely clueless and completely stressed out, but with her knowledgeable advice and endless patience, we started to feel a lot better and more in control. We were first-timers, but she put so much information and wisdom into our hands that now we sound like experts. She has offered solid referrals for inspectors, mortgage brokers, the whole bit. She was also willing to talk to us pretty much every hour of the day, every day of the week. We were pretty flexible in what we wanted, so she helped us find our home in just about a month in one of the most competitive markets in the world. She also supported us beautifully through the disappointment of our first few failed offers. I'd recommend her to first-timers, old-timers, and everyone in between. read more

Gulrukh Lindsay helped us find our dream home! She was always professional, friendly, patient, helpful and available to answer any questions we had. Since we were first time home buyers we were very careful and conservative throughout the process. However, Gulrukh took the time to make sure we understood the process fully and set expectations of the competitive market. She was also very organized and set up a Google Docs spreadsheet for us to keep track of houses we liked and viewed. We felt like she was looking out for us and supported every decision we made. We highly recommend Gulrukh to anyone buying a home in the East Bay! read more
