We needed a quick solution, and Seth made himself available immediately and helped save the fence. The next day he came with his work crew, took the rest of the tree down, and cleaned up all the branches and removed all the mess. Reasonable, professional, quick response, and thorough. Would hire them again without a doubt.

I pray that you never loose a spouse and learn it is much more then a sob story. I had 1 person out months before, that was a relative. Otherwise I didn't call anyone, you were first here and first offer. Like I said I didn't know what I was doing and should of had more estimates. Everything up to the final product was good rating. A total of 3-4 more cuts of the huge logs left would have made it what I was told and a 5 star. It's sad you couldn't just send someone out to finish what I was told I would get for $1000. Also the tree was not an insurance job. I paid that part out of pocket, not that it is any of your business who pays my bills. 3 - 4 more cuts, would have made it workable... There is approximately fifteen feet between my home and the neighbors. Bobcat drivers job was to remove all the large and small limbs dragging them to the front of the property. Where they either mulched them or load the huge ones into a truck. Neither the bobcat driver nor his coworkers trimmed the long branches prior to removal. (Trying to draw a picture with words.) A lot of them were almost fifteen feet wide. This resulted in coming VERY close to ripping of the downspout on the front corner of my home. They did rip off the eavestrough that carries rain away from the foundation. And knocked over my waste and recycling containers. They did pick them up and reattached my run off gutter. If they had trimmed the wide branches ... Now, this happened both days (2) they worked. Personally, if it happened on day one then on day two I would have the brain function to change up my approach. But nope. They never knocked on my door to ask permission to enter my fenced yard to clean up their debris. So I went out and cleaned up. Day two as they were cleaning up I went out and cleaned up their debris from my yard. Giving it to them to dispose of. The bobcat driver job approached me and said they would clean it up. I pointed out that they didn't on day one so why would I think they would on day two? The customers yard was cleaned up each day. I also brought to his attention the fact that he came close to ripping off my downspout. Twisting it by about thirty degrees.

First let me get it out of the way that J & B did a fairly decent job cutting down both Team VP's…read moreand our parents' pine trees. No buildings were demolished, no small animals were squashed and none of my plants were injured as a result of the tree removal. After the work was actually scheduled, they arrived on time and did quick work and removed almost all of the diseased pine and took it away. I would probably hire them again for larger tree removal jobs in the future. Now, on to the details. As we live across the street from my parents we got an even better deal on the price, so the total cost for two large pine trees with the stumps removed was $800. We decided in June, when we spoke to the J & B estimator guy that we wanted to be put on the schedule and were promised that we would receive a phone call within two weeks that our houses were on the schedule. This did not happen. I've been thinking about a word to describe the woman who answers the phone at J & B and I've finally settled on curt. I like no nonsense people who don't ask a lot of unimportant questions and get to the problem quickly, but the woman at J & B made me nervous and uncomfortable. When I called mid July to see how their schedule was moving she very surprisingly told me that we were on it for that Thursday. When I had spoke to her before she told me that I would receive a phone call letting me know at least seven days before our tree was going to be cut down. *Why is all this important you ask? We have a dog who is terrified of loud noises and chainsaws fit in that noise bucket, so we needed to first of all be home on the day the tree gets taken down and secondly we needed to plan to give her noise medication.* The following Thursday the tree is removed and everyone (including the dog) does perfectly. The men finish in what feels like record time to be cutting down two very large pines and then leave the stumps still firmly rooted in the ground. As I have never in my life chopped down a tree or ground out a tree stump I had no idea the protocol, so I very tentatively called J & B and got a busy signal (apparently that is still a thing in 2018) which persisted for a full two hours. Once the phone started ringing again the even saltier then before receptionist told me that my Dad had spoken to her already (apparently my Dad and I need to start texting each other on a near continuous basis about our activities and conversations because once per day just is not cutting it for this woman) and that tree stumps are removed the day AFTER a tree is cut down and that is when I will receive my bill. I thanked her and hung up. Pot luck dinner parties with this woman must be humungous amounts of fun. The stump guys did show up as promised the next day and they did use their fancy machine to grind out the stump and in doing so created a large hole and a big pile of pine mulch in both our yard and our parents'. The hole and the pile of pine mulch are not things I'm super happy about because physically neither my parents nor I can fill the hole and excess pine mulch cannot be used for anything but pine trees and we just cut down our last one. This means that Mr. MVP is responsible for filling both holes and moving all the pine mulch to our neighbor's house to surround his pine trees, which makes Mr. MVP not particularly happy. Maybe I'll call J & B and ask the receptionist if she wants the extra mulch at no charge.

J & B tree service is very professional, timely and skilled. My neighbor and I had cut down 4 pine…read moretrees along our shared property line and quoted multiple Portage stump grinding companies. J & B was very reasonable at $35 per stump (approximately 18" in diameter each at the base) and we had a total of (4) stumps to grind. They came within a week, and ground down the existing 4 plus an additional stump (approximately 30" in diameter) in my yard. They were fast, efficient, responsive and reasonable. The rep who came to grind the stumps was knowledgeable, professional and engaged. Later that week, the same rep was at another friends house cutting down (3) sugar maple trees and grinding the stumps as well. Again, he (Bubba) was very timely, professional, reasonable and knowledgeable. They did meet someone else's quotes cost for the removal and grinding of the (3) maple trees, as they were not the lowest bidder initially.
