I'm from out of town for family business for 3 weeks and needed an adjustment. I go back home once a week for maintenance. Dr Tom took me as a walk-in. He took his time and figured out the problem with gentle manual manipulation. Loved the massage chair that helps to prepare your spine for a more successful adjustment. I called and asked if they were accepting new patients. I was told "yes". I asked if they accepted Blue Cross Blue Shield. They told me that they did. I asked if I could book an appt. they gave me one the next day. I asked if they needed my name or insurance information. The man told me "no, just your phone number". I thought that was weird, so I gave them my phone number and name. I arrived the following day for my appt and asked the girl at the front desk if I was suppose to sign in. She told me "yes". I asked if she wanted my insurance card and she said "oh, are you a new patient?" I said "yes". And she asked for my insurance and ID, then handed me new patient paperwork that appeared to have been copied way too many times because it was hard to read. I filled out the paperwork and handed it back to the receptionist. The doctor came out in a ball cap, polo shirt, shorts and dirty shoes with what appeared to be no socks. I was thrown back by how unprofessional this establishment was and how disheveled they doctor appeared. When I got in the room the doctor told me that he does not take any insurance and asked me what my copay was and told me he would just charge me my copay because he wanted to make it affordable to me. He then told me that he doesn't take x-rays and he could start cracking on my back if I wanted him to, then all of the sudden got excited about ultrasound. He brought me to another room where his 1980's looking ultrasound machine was located. He took his "bowl" that appears to be, what I believe was a bleach bottle that had the top cut off, put some stuff in it and went to warm it up. Then he did this ultrasound/shocking thing on my low back. Surprisingly it helped, but I felt fairly uncomfortable the entire time. When he was done he suggested I buy a "train ticket", which I believe is a 4 visit package. I asked to just pay my bill and since I'm so nice, I just scheduled a follow up appt. with every intention on cancelling it the following business day. When I asked how much the visit was, they charged me $40, instead of my "copay rate". I am extremely dissatisfied with their customer service, professionalism and cleanliness. I wish I was a little more verbal from the start. I should have walked out as soon as the receptionist didn't even ask for my name or knew that I was a new patient. That is my fault, but I most certainly will not return or recommend this office to anyone. read more

I went there for a massge as I had received a gift certificate. (I know nothing about the Chiropractic side of this business ). The pros were that I got a decent massage and she was a very friendly person, and the place seemed clean. The cons were that the massage rooms were so depressing. Everything appeared clean, but very worn and threadbare (including the bedding-(very thin, worn out and didn't match). The room was all in dark brown with a curtain that appeared to be made of an old sheet. The carpeting was also extremely old, dark and had definatetly seen better days. The table was not totally uncomfortable, but not as comfortable as many others I have been on. The head rest fell off 3 times and was unable to be adjusted to a comfortable position. That made me a little nervous as I have a bad neck anyway. Overall my massage was nice but the room was so depressing that it I just couldn't feel like I was there for a relaxing and pampered experience. I do not blame the therapist for this. I have been to many massage therapy businesses and every one of them put a lot into their decor to give you a serene, calm, luxurious and relaxing experience . Definatetly not here. Again, my therapist did a nice job, but when I asked if all the massage therapist were licensed, as I believe my insurance requires this, she couldn't or wouldn't answer me. I found that made me wonder a bit about whether I would go back. I will ask my insurance if they know if these therapists are licensed or not. I'm not sure I would go back there only because of the terribly depressing decor, partially faulty massage table and the response to my question about the licenses. If none of that matters then I would say give them a try. But I'm pretty sure most people would prefer just a bit of nice atmosphere and a comfortable table and bedding as really that's a part of the total massage experience. It's meant to be a great massage of course, but the total atmosphere finishes off the experience. This is my first YELP, I really didn't want to be too negative. That's why I went ahead and gave 3 stars instead of 1star. Thank you. read more
