This hookah cafe is located in downtown Wilmington waterfront area, and thus when my SO and I are in the area we frequent this hookah place quite often. Being that my husband is a hookah addict, it is hard for him to find a place that satisfies his high standards, and Arabian Nights definitely does. The price of the hookah depends upon the number within your party, and they do provide a 10% student discount M-Th, which is pretty cool considering most of their customers are students. Their shisha selection isn't very large, but they are quite delicious, and do serve tea, coffee, juices, and so forth, along with dessert. I don't know if they are still doing the dessert, but the baklava was yummy. On certain nights there is cover to enter to listen to the live music and/or to the see the belly dancer that they have come in during the weekends for entertainment. The decor of the cafe will transport you to the middle east. Its absolutely romantic, thus I would recommend it for an after dinner activity that would surely wow your date. read more

I am a big fan of hookah and I have been to hookah bars in a lot of cities. This, by far is the worst I have been to. The place is ridiculously overpriced, from charging $7/person for cover to $3 just to to get ice in your sheeshah. They even charge you to get soap water to blow your bubbles. You bear all of these expenses to experience sub standard quality of the hookah. The atmosphere was meh, the dj was average and the staff seemed like they didn't really know what they were doing. Just when we decided to ignore all the negatives and focus on having a good time and were about to get comfortable, we were asked if we would consider moving to another location to accommodate a bigger party of people. That was the proverbial last straw that completely ruined the experience for us. I would not recommend this lounge to anybody looking to get a decent hookah in Wilmington, Instead I would suggest that one go to Juggling Gypsy, that's located less than two miles away from this one for a much better experience. read more

The major down point to this place is overcharging. Although the hookahs are reasonably priced, they charge a cover, plus, they charge for non smokers!!!!!!!!!! The music is god awful.. Definitely not a relaxing environment for a hookah. I guess that's what you do when you don't have competition. Definitely won't be coming back! read more

We walked in and literally turned around and walked right back out. This looked more like a place for stoners than a hookah lounge. It was also near empty on a Saturday night, which was one of the first things that tipped us off when we pulled into the parking lot. We were handed menus printed with black light ink or whatever, because they had black lights going all over the place, and there was some kind of gangster rap playing. Ah, yes... black lights and gangster rap. Just the ambiance you want from a HOOKAH LOUNGE. It looked dirty and run-down. This is by far the best Hookah Lounge in the Wilmington NC area, from the minute you walk in you are greeted with a big smile from the staff, the hookahs are authentic and great for smoking, the waiters are very attentive and keep in checking on you. The flavors are definitely a lot better than anywhere else. The owner is wonderful she came and said hello and made sure I am taken care of, you can tell that all her clients like her because not one walked through the door but stopped by and said hello to her. So a new management has taken over this place and it's actually not called Arabian nights anymore. When we pulled up at 12am the parking lot was filled and that's when I remembered the new management. I heard good things so I was excited to see the new change. They have a security person outside to check ids and pay a cover fee which I believe was 5 per person. Went in expecting it to look the same. Nope, the music was loud, bass was high every where was crowded it was like a small club up in there. It wasn't too bad but I was expecting chill area where you can sit and talk smoke a little. I heard on the weekdays it's like that but don't expect for it to be this way on the weekends. It was kinda nice for me though because my friend isn't a big club person I am she's a hookah fan I'm ehhh so it worked out because we got the best of both worlds. Horrible went to a show there and the sound system in the place was horrible. It looked as if the performers had no clue what they walked into.. The house Dj was late so they had to do sound check late.. The venue owner booked two events the same night was rushing the performers. Hookah was way to expensive for the flavor selection they had. go to juggling gypsy at least you will have good sound enjoy the hookah and the shows there has great sound! place needs to shut down! read more

Worst hookah ever . BYOB only to me, bad DJ , they charge for everything even for seats.

Well to start... Everything is waay overpriced for the quality of the shisha and the quality of the hookah. 8.95 per person, for crappy hookah. They charge $10 for a pineapple base, let's be honest.. $10 for a pineapple?! Oh and if you want ice in your hookah they charge $3.. We drove all the way from Jacksonville to come here, and 30 minutes after getting our hookah (which had to be fixed multiple times because it wasn't hitting) they told us that we needed to pay a $5 (per person)cover because there is a DJ. I wouldn't have minded the cover if our hookah was actually working the first 30 minutes we were there.. The shisha had very little flavor and not much smoke. The bathrooms are dirty and dingy, and they didn't even have a real mirror. The staff doesn't seem to know what they're doing either. They need to do something to improve this place.
