So the carrabelle IGA here in town is my absolute go to for Blue Bell ice cream. I probably spend close to a hundred bucks a week on ice cream and what not. Last night I bought a 15 dollar rotisserie chicken, and it was spoiled. I had bought it as they were closing,so I had to wait till the AM to return it. Immediate response I got was attitude, and the comment she made was she "couldnt just return EATEN FOOD like that" as if I had taken more than two tiny bites... I paid 15 dollars for this chicken. So she then begrudgingly said I could go ask the lady in the kitchen if she could make me a new one... Go and explain it to her and that the manager said I could ask her to make me a new one in exchange "Oh no, I can't do that" And I stated oh so I'm just stuck with a spoiled 15 dollar chicken you all sold me Looks me dead in the eye with a flat tone in her voice "YEP" So at that point yeah I'm a little pissed off, wasted 15 dollars and then get attitude for no reason, like im in there trying to get over on them and rip em off or something. So on my way out, in the parking lot I admit I lost my cool a bit, and turned the bag upside down and left the chicken there with them. The manager then comes out and called me a "LITTLE FAGGOT" Unfortunate that you all sell spoiled food to someone and then give them attitude like they're scumbags for trying to have you make it right. read more

The positives, the mushrooms were fresh and not expensive. The negatives.... $7.50 for a small bag of tater tots...I feel so bad for locals who can't afford much, being forced to shop here. I was shopping at this store around 4:30 pm on 11/27/2023...I was in the back of the store, when I heard someone yelling,as I approached the Bakery/Deli I realized that it was a very loud employee talking to another employee, and there was some mild profanity. Some rude man outside smoking with some other guy stopped my husband as we were walking in. He was extremely rude. I thought he was asking if his cap was from service because I understood the work "service". I had my chi in her stroller zipped up, but he caught me them as I've was walking into the store and asked me where my service dogs collar was, then he told me I couldn't go in but in a rude condescending angry-spirited tone. Obviously we will not be going back. I asked if he was the manager as I was going to surely speak to him, but he claimed he was the manager. I certainly hope not for their sake. This is really the only option in the area to grocery shop, which is fine unless you have favorite brands/flavors. I can accept the dank grunge of this place since it is in a sleepy beach town, but the weird signs all over make me not want to eat anything without a manufacturers seal?! read more

Gulfside IGA Plus - Apparently this is a consistent issue?! - Grocery Near Me - Carrabelle, Florida

Came here when I was in town visiting a friend. I was told this was the only grocery store in Carrabelle, FL. I can't image living in a tiny town like this. I'd probably go crazy. Then again I lived in the middle of nowhere in West Texas for four years because of my job. So I think I can manage to survive if I had to live here for whatever odd reason. The store is not too far from the World Smallest Police Station. It is a bit out dated but be thankful you can actually get groceries. I tried their fried chicken from the deli because I was hungry, it was actually quite tasty. Overall, a place you can't avoid because you don't have other choices. read more

Shopping at this local IGA is not a pleasant experience. First, the prices are outrageous! This store knows they are the only game in town and they set their prices accordingly. Their cuts of beef and chicken are outrageously priced and are extremely substandard in terms of quality as is the produce. My biggest gripe, personally, is the attitude of the checkers. These women are all are, shall we say, extremely well fed. I'm not fat-shaming in the least. But, it's a package deal!! These are generally young women who apparently have no pride in themselves and they have the ambition and drive only to be a checker at an obscure grocery store and I have no doubt they will be doing the same thing when they are 50 or 60 years old. They did not welcome me, they did not not make conversation with me and the did not suggest I have a good day when I was leaving. Instead they chose to talk to each other and basically ignored me as a customer. Shameful! The manager/owner of this store should shake things up a bit. There is a gentleman with a light beard and hair who always strikes up a conversation with me and ALWAYS wishes me a good day. If I HAVE to go to this store and he is there, I will wait in a longer line just to deal with him only. I suggest you stock up on essentials in Tallahassee prior to arriving in Carrabelle for any length of time. There is a Costco there and you can find great cuts of beef and chicken at half the price of this IGA and the cuts will be 1000% better. Also, stock up on liquor, beer etc. Don't give this local IGA your hard-earned bucks. read more

I love the Gulfside IGA Plus. Great Customer Service, excellent meat prices. I called and asked if they had Sara Lee delights whole grain 45 calorie bread. I was so excited that they have this bread. It saved me driving 45 minutes into Crawfordville. This grocery store keeps on surprising me. Mike, Steve, Richard and all the employees at this lovely store have great personalities. They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices are comparable to Winn Dixie in Crawfordville. And might I add I do not have to drive 45 minutes. Time, gas and money. You can shop with confidence at this grocery store. Good produce as well!!! Great place to shop and great place to live. read more

There is really no competition out here, so this is your grocery store in Carabelle. Overall, they have the basics of what you would need, with a fair amount of produce. The store was clean, and the staff was helpful. The issue that I find here is pricing. Regular things like a gallon of milk are $2.00 more than your typical grocery store, while many other items were similarly priced. Essentially, they know they are the only game in town, so if you need it, you will pay for it. read more

Compared to everything else within reasonable distance, this place is a dream. Much cleaner and larger than the Piggly Wiggly (which I hate to say because I love a good Piggy Wiggly). Better selections, fresh produce, super clean, and friendly service. Worth the drive from Apalachicola. read more

The worst staff I have ever seen, it is like they are doing you a favor to hop there. The staff is rude and doesn't take any pride in their job. Absolutely awful place, I cringe each time I have to go to the store. Unfortunately no choice if you live in Carrabelle, it is the only grocery store.
