That said, I was disappointed by the lack of upfront communication around rates and time. No estimate was provided, the hourly rate had changed without notice, and the final invoice reflected 4.5 hours for a scope that many experienced Yanmar owners would expect to take less time. The billing explanation came after the fact and relied on shop-rate comparisons that didn't feel applicable to a mobile job in Mobile. I paid the invoice, but transparency and expectation-setting could be much better. If you use this service, I'd strongly recommend confirming the hourly rate and estimated time before work begins.

I ended up getting my bottom filled and faired the second time. Donnie and Tom do a great job. I was really impressed with the first repair, as Tom managed to match my weird gel coat color well enough that I need to point out the repair to others for them even to notice. I think that if you are a one design racer and live withing a 6 hour drive, there is no doubt who you need to take your boat to for hull repair. Many members of our sailing club come here for their boat repair needs, and there is no doubt that boats are faster after visiting Donnie and Tom.

The service team was quick to respond and ordered my part. Communication was good as they kept me informed of when the part would arrive and when my boat would be ready. I paid for the services and parts, picked up my boat, and brought it home. Thats when the problems started. Without getting into the details, there was some type of error with the service performed which exacerbated my problem. I had to bring it back to Sunrise to have them resolve this new issue. Unfortunately, the part was on backorder however they kept me in the loop on the progress. I just picked it back up today and though I haven't run it yet, I appreciate the strong communication and commitment to getting it right for me. Thank you Daphne service team.
