With two large beer kegs in the front window, there's no mistaking this place for your run of the mill sports bar.. if you want to watch sports.. please take yourself elsewhere.. there ain't no tv's up in here~! There's three shuffleboard tables in the back which provides much entertainment for those of us with a competitive streak.. and also a couple of pinball machines for those who prefer more solitary entertainment over a pint or few.. The staff are all super friendly and lovely and their impeccable English makes me think I need to try harder to learn a few more words in some Scandinavian languages... You go here if you like to show that you like rock and if you don't care about showing nothing at all. The latter are not the hipsters ;) It used to be packed, but the hip factor has cooled off. Good! The interior is not. Which is part of the whole atmosphere. And the pictures- epic shots of old rock heroes, make many of us nostalgic and remembering when we were in our 20s. Oh well. We were quite a large group (about 10), which seemed to baffle the waitress, although we had booked the previous day, and service was generally very slow. As the restaurant was changing their menu at the time, there were a few dishes which were not available, and the kitchen also seemed to be short of quite a few ingredients, meaning that not everyone got to order what they liked. This was a shame, as the menu itself was quite exciting - Prammen aims for Norwegian-European gastro pub fare, including the ubiquitous tapas plate and aioli burger, but also oxtail soup (which, unfortunately, was one of the dishes that were not available). Most of our party ordered burgers or tapas plates - i opted for the antipasti plate (I find it fascinating that this turned out to be a samller selection tapas plate - clearly the people at Prammen are of the opinion that Italians eat less than Spaniards...). I was satisfied, but not thrilled with my meal, the highlight of which was a thoroughly decent aioli. The burgers suffered from "height syndrome" - meaning that the meat-to-other ratio seemed far to large for my liking, but if you are a meat slab person, this would probably not trouble you. The burers were served with a skimpy amount of vegetables and an even more diminuitive amount of sauce, but a generous side of chips with ailoi. As for drinks, Prammen has a fairly standard selection of beers at a standard price for Norwegian conditions (meaning a high one...). The restaurant is part of a bar/eatery/concert hub complex, and the atmosphere is generally good. The interior is also quite cool, and it is a pleasant place to have a pint and chat.

My husband I were actually staying at the new Scandic Lillestrom while visiting Norway on our honeymoon. We limited ourselves to only a few dinners out in Norway just because eating out can be so expensive. I will say this place is totally worth the price. The vibe is so cool inside with lab equipment in glass cases, books on curved shelves and beautiful stained glass behind the bar. The outside patio is also very large and they have blankets on the backs of all the chairs incase the Norway night are a tad chilly for you. The bartender was very nice and polite despite our lack of Norwegian and luckily his English was very good. We both ordered burgers, I got the Lamb burger and my husband the Juicy Lucy. They were absolutely delicious! As we were settling up the bartender even gave us a sample of another local beer that they had just out on tap. Overall I was so glad we checked this place out and it was the perfect place and just our style to treat ourselves to a dinner out in Norway.

Even I have to randomly pick something on the menu, I strongly believe it will be delicious anyway. The service was excellent so I'm pretty sure your server would be able to explain the menu for you if you don't understand Norwegian. We ordered a couple of appetizer and they were very good. I tried a chicken dish and a burger my friends ordered (pls don't ask me the name coz I can't even pronoun it) and they were very tasty too.
