Sarah is a patient, sweet teacher who is so talented that I doubt there's any level of pianist she can't teach. The space itself is bright and welcoming, with one big open room with a piano, in addition to several smaller rooms down the hallway. They offer lessons in voice, tons of strings (guitar, violin, mandolin, and more), brass, and pretty much every other instrument you could think of. Everyone I've met has been as gracious as Sarah, and you can tell they are all total pros. They also have a refreshing focus on kiddos, with $5 drop-in music classes a few times a week for babies as young as a few months old and lessons tailored toward the young musicians among us. Plus, you can stop and reward yourself with coffee + tasty bread treats at Aki's before or after, just because you've been such an awesome student. I'm a mom, so the time I have to practice is pretty limited. That never matters, though, because we always work on whatever I'm comfortable with. Sarah is amazing and makes me want to be able to play everything from classical to jazz to good ol' rock 'n roll. If you want a fun, engaging, relaxing music education, Sarah Jane's is definitely the way to go!

At first, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the group sessions at Twin Cities School of Guitar. After being there for about five months, though, I can honestly say that I love the group format. I used to dread going to guitar lessons because I felt a lot of pressure having an instructor focused solely on me throughout the entire lesson. I didn't enjoy the experience, and as a result, I didn't practice very much. Now, I actually look forward to my lessons because they're fun, engaging, and much less intimidating. I find myself picking up my guitar and practicing regularly--so much that even my wife has commented on how much more I'm playing. I've learned more in the past five months at Twin Cities School of Guitar than I did during years of one-on-one lessons elsewhere. The instruction is practical, encouraging, and structured in a way that makes learning enjoyable. In addition to the regular lessons, Ryan offers Masterclass sessions that go in-depth on specific topics, and they're included in the membership. We recently completed a two-hour Masterclass focused entirely on Fingerstyle, and I learned more in that session than I had in all of my previous lessons at other places. I've seen significant improvement in so many areas, including my strumming, fretboard knowledge, rhythm, chords, songs, and overall understanding of music theory. Most importantly, I feel much more comfortable and confident playing the guitar. If you're on the fence about joining Twin Cities School of Guitar, I highly recommend giving it a try. He is also amazingly flexible in terms of music and guitar style (i.e. Rock, Folk, Heavy Metal, Flamenco, etc). He's very patient and encouraging as a teacher, but also not afraid to point out/correct what you are doing wrong, to help you become a better player. Finally, Paul has a really good sense of humor which makes it even more fun and enjoyable to learn guitar from him. Highly recommended.

I was not welcome and should leave because he was not going to look up. I asked if they did guitar lessons and again the guy hesitates and does not look up . He says "No not really." But they do over 375 a week on a good week of lessons I was informed. That was nice to know as I was looking for a market that needed a friendly music environment and this sure seems like one! Maybe it was a bad day but the 375 students were not there only me so I feel this rating is appropriate especially seeing it looks common in other rating.
