I will always be grateful for the outstanding musical education they are getting!

A musical education is hard to come by these days. Gone are the times when the little old lady down…read morethe road gave piano lessons to neighborhood kids, either because fewer and fewer kids can be pulled from their video games or little old ladies have no interest in trying to teach music to children who would rather pretend to play music. And, as local school districts search for more ways to cut their budgets, music programs are often targeted resulting in water-downed programs that at best can only whet the appetites of future musicians. It's a wonder that music hasn't become a lost art. Thankfully, there are still places like Suffield Music to pick up the baton thrown away by public education and little old ladies down the road. Suffield Music offers a wide variety of incredibly affordable personal music lessons ranging from guitar to piano to violin to everything. I really can't think of an instrument I haven't seen taught there. The owner Josh is so plugged into the local music scene that if a student was interested in learning a unique instrument like the sitar, he could find a teacher. When my son's proficiency at the guitar exceeded my elementary knowledge of a dozen or so chords, I called Suffield Music and they paired him with an instructor that matched his musical interests. The instructor, who himself was not only a Berklee College of Music grad but a veteran of many bands, plugged into my son's musical interests and taught him how to connect his passions to his instrument, and the results were nothing short of inspiring. When my daughter, whose musical tastes centered around the work of a country-turned-pop artist, she was paired with a different instructor who taught her how to hold an audience with just her guitar and her voice. About a year later, she got up on stage in front of the entire middle school a performed a solo acoustic version of Niall Horan's "This Town" to, no exaggeration, thunderous applause. So, it goes without saying, I got my money's worth for my kids' music lessons. When my wife bought me a very expensive Fender Telecaster for my birthday, I resolved to raise my grunge-era guitar skills to a new level. And, I knew where to go. I was paired with an instructor who was nothing short of a musical savant. He took me, upon request, from the 12-bar blues to songs with wild alternative tunings. He taught me how to build and release audience tension along with some basic tips about handling a very cool instrument. I've played solo gigs numerous times, including twice at my town's annual fair, and reached a level where both my instructor and the owner said I should consider playing professionally at local bars and microbreweries. I guess I graduated. Look, music is not for everyone. It takes work, patience and perseverance. It is not for the dreamer who doesn't want to put in the effort. From a musical education, you get what you put into it. If your child or you, for that matter, truly want to know how to play an instrument at the highest of levels, give Suffield Music a shot. The experience, if you let it, will be truly transformative.

Great experience purchasing my next piano thru Caruso Piano Gallery in New London, CT I could not…read morefind what I was looking for locally, so I began my online research and found it at Caruso. For the first time in my life I would consider purchasing a refurbished 1974 Yamaha 48" U1 Black Satin piano 1900 miles away. WOW. I wasn't sure I could do this, but proceeded after reading many great reviews and the four star reconditioning service with 21 point certification offered by Caruso. This included full cabinet restoration as well in black satin. And, after visiting with Richard Caruso thru phone calls and emails, I was sent a video demonstration made by one of their pianist of two I could choose from. I also chose the Piano Life Saver (humidity control) system to be installed by Caruso as well. So, my choice was made, the LS system installed and piano prepped for shipping. Thus, we started the process of long-haul from New London, CT to Denver, CO. After a delay in trucking service availability from New London to its first destination in Kentucky, the Caruso company decided to deliver a load there themselves. Once in Kentucky, my piano was in storage for a short while before it began its journey to Denver. Once in Denver, Caruso suggested delivery to my city of Colorado Springs using Keyboard Carriers. Working with Brittany Caruso, the whole process was flawless. My piano arrived at Keyboard Carriers in perfect condition and after a short wait they were able to deliver to my home. This was an experience that I would do again and I highly recommend working with the Caruso family. Thank you, CPG! My journey began on June 6, 2022 with delivery to my home on August 2, 2022 (not bad at all for a Summer delivery with long-haul shortages) Photos of my new beauty are below.

So it becomes even more…read moreimportant that the store that you make this buying decision meets all of your needs- an adequate inventory of a variety of pianos, knowledgeable and professional sales staff, and a reputation for years of quality sales and service. Caruso's Piano Gallery meets all of the above criteria! Caruso's has a nice inventory of pianos, both uprights and grands. And most major brands are represented- Steinway, Yamaha, Bosendorfer, Baldwin, etc. They have both new and pre-owned models. The showroom is nicely laid out, and encourages you to sit down and try the pianos out. The sales people are attentive but not intrusive- if you ask for assistance they are more than happy to help, but if you wish to be left alone to experiment, they are just as glad to do that also. They are knowledgeable on the idiosyncrasies of the piano brands, but encourage you to decide which piano suits your taste the best. Pricing is competitive- in fact, it appears that their prices are better than some other stores. They offer financing and flexible payment options. Local delivery is included in the price, and delivery can be scheduled for as little as a few days out. I highly recommend Caruso's if you are looking for a piano. You can be assured that you will receive great service, as well as a great piano!

Extremely punctual and up front about what he was doing and the prices. Easy to work with and very pleasant. The website makes it easy to book appointments and sends appointment reminders. Almost bringing my wife and I back to the day we purchased the piano last year. As we only knew our piano was partially rebuilt 10 years ago, I also took the time to get Ben's opinion and he seemed really knowledgeable and appreciated the resources the previous owner put into the instrument. Price - Do I wish I could get more bang for my buck? Yes, but that's with everything I buy. After checking with a couple of places I settled with Ben because of the positive reviews along with his price point. Punctuality - I loved his no window appointment. Ben showed up exactly when I booked the appointment. Professionalism - Overall, I got a great understanding of our Steinert and where we want it to be in terms of play-ability in the near future. It was a pleasure to speak with Ben speak with and wished I had more money to have him "go thru" the piano. I did not feel pressured into any additional services which felt great. I honestly can't wait until the next appointment so he can further improve the condition of the piano.

Francesco took a lot of time (over several visits) to educate us about the brands he carried in the store, what makes a high quality instrument, what to look for. He never pressured us or steered us towards a higher priced/higher quality instrument and he agreed with us that we should start slowly and then, if we needed to, trade up for a higher quality piano later. In fact, he made the decision very easy for us. We purchased a good middle-level piano, and when my son needs more instrument, Francesco will buy back our current piano for what we paid for it, and help us trade up for a higher quality instrument. How could we go wrong?! Also, two free tunings with the new piano, which is a great deal. He came and delivered it to us, advised us on the care of the instrument, and has always been very available to us. He wants to be sure you are really happy with your purchase. He really knows his stuff and is a pleasure to work with. Please give this business a call if you are in the market for a piano, or are in need of a tuning. Our piano teacher has two gorgeous grand pianos in her home and she said she ONLY trusts Francesco to tune them. She said his tunings are extremely reasonably priced and he does an EXCELLENT job.
