I've been building guitars for around 8 years now, so I know my business. My first impression when I dropped it off, was they weren't happy it was a warranty repair, although they are a Gibson Authorized Dealer and Warranty Center. I explained the problem and asked for the tech to call me, a week went by with nothing. When I asked on progress they didn't have a clue they even had it and this is not a big box store. A week later I called again, "oh, it's ready". When I went to pick it up it wasn't fixed, their story was absurd about it's the nature of the pickups (it's not) and they ended it with, it must be a B stock. It isn't. My thoughts are, they just wouldn't honor the warranty and waited for me to come pick it up. I would never entrust Lafayette Music with any of my gear. The attached picture is why I know they never looked at. That would have been their first clue.

One Star - Predatory Business Practices…read more We rented a saxophone from Lafayette Music Company last summer. The return deadline was June 1st (which fell on a Sunday). We tried to return it five days later and were told, "Too late - it's yours now." No warning, no reminder, and no option to pay a late fee. Just a hardline stance: either pay Tower Loan $1,200 or continue monthly payments at 28% interest. They didn't send any return reminders, and they don't give you an electronic copy of the contract. It feels like they're hoping you miss the deadline so they can lock you into a high-interest loan. We tried to negotiate in good faith and were told flat-out, "It's your problem now." Absolutely unacceptable. I won't do business with them again and will be warning others to steer clear.

I'm pleased to see a lot of indie selections in Cajun country; Beach House, Mac Demarco, Wild Nothing, amongst others. There's also some cheaper pre owned vinyl that aren't horribly overpriced, which is nice to see. Great shop to browse around and check for hidden gems.
