I have worked with Tanya Price on a number of occasions and she is a true professional. She takes the time to ensure that her clients understand the process of closing on a mortgage and is always willing to explain things until the client is comfortable. Patient, kind and understanding- Tanya is exactly the type of person you want working on your behalf. read more

Misty and Shelly were a pleasure to work with. My wife and I were referred to Guild Morgan Hill by the CalFHA program since this was our first home purchase. The process was smooth and easy. All our questions were answered in a timely manner and any confusion was clarified. We couldn't have been happier working with Misty and Shelly. They were a great team and super helpful. They explained the steps and process and assisted us in the paperwork and negotiation process. Misty was super fast during the negotiation time. We were able to counteroffer within an hour or so. Through their fast turn around at Guild we closed on time and got our keys within the projected time frame! Thank you Misty and Shelly!! read more

I was introduced to Guild mortgage by my realtor. Janine and Gelda first impression was not great at all. I thought I was only dealing with Janine but some how it was more with Gelda. It was like broken telephone game. When I asked to Janine to call me no response but instead condescending emails from Gelda. I worked with other mortgage companies before but this one, I would think they have a better communication skill. In the end I didn't do business with them. They ranned my co borrower's credit when I asked would it be beneficial or not and of course it did not and lowered her credit score! That wasn't cool. I went with Patelco and Michelle there did a phenomenal job! I hope Gelda will never be a manager at Guild. I'm surprised how Janine is a manager the way she communicated with me. 95% emails and 5% in call. I had only 2 phone calls from her. read more

Great company but making a payment online is a NIGHTMARE. Why they simply cannot have a clear big MAKE A PAYMENT tab to facilitate makes for an incredible waste of time going round and round and round... then they didn't recognize my email or password... and they were indeed CORRECT..... Pleeeze. So I called it in and they charged a 7.00 fee. Fuel to the fire. Now I am on eternal hold to deal with this mess. read more

Made an appointment and took time off work to meet at 10 am on a Thursday and no one showed. Got an email at 9:50 am saying they would be late. Waited another 30 minutes and no one showed up. To me that says you don't care about my business. So I went to wells Fargo read more

Our Guild Mortgage team had been working to help us qualify for our loans for several months while our home was being built. Jayson Stebbins was our loan officer, but our primary points of contact were his incredible team of Janice Smith, Dayrell Howland and Bonny Aguilar. These ladies are incredible! Since early May of 2017, Janice and Dayrell have helped to provide us with unparalleled support. They are incredibly attentive and patient. They clearly explained every loan option we qualified for and always answered our same questions without a hint of impatience or irritation. They were very diligent in requesting all of our necessary documentation giving us ample notice to gather all the current financials they requested and they always followed through in processing the requests. We never felt like they were addressing action items at the last minute. Even though we waited for the new construction to be completed, Janice checked in with us once a week to provide us with updates and tasks we needed to complete. We worked with Dayrell the most and she was incredibly responsive to all of our voicemail and email inquiries throughout the months she worked on our loans. Bonny was diligent at tying up loose ends at the end of our process to make sure our package was ready to go. When the time came to qualify for the loans, all we had to do was provide updated information and our loans were funded within a reasonable timeframe. Our home buying experience was a success because of our Guild team! Regardless of the Guild Mortgage loan officer you select to assist you, ask who their support team is! If it is Janice, Dayrell and Bonny, you will be in incredible and very capable hands! Our family grateful to no end for their hard work and support! If you need a home loan or need to refi, you need to go with Guild Mortgage in Morgan Hill! read more

After not being given the time of day by another lender, I was referred to Jeni. She and her team have gone above and beyond what I had expected a lender would do to help my family get pre approved for a loan. We really felt like she was looking out for our best interest and she worked so fast and efficiently to get us the approval that we needed. I really appreciate the service I received from Jeni & Shelly. They rock! read more

Janene has done multiple loans for myself and our family. Janene is responsive and timely. Her many years of loan experience shows with her expertise and diligence. I highly recommend her and her team. read more

When I needed help getting approved for a loan, I went straight to Jayson. He helped me out with my first loan and I knew that I could trust him. I was initially unsure whether I was trying to get approved to buy a home or refinance my current home to buy the other owner so I sent him several different directions. He took the time to help me evaluate the options for every scenario I threw his way. He then seriously went out of his way to help me through a high stress and high maintenance refinance with kindness and tons of patience. There is literally no one else I would ever recommend for anyone looking to buy or refinance. He and his team care deeply about their clients. When people think of the mortgage industry, altruism isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind. However, Jayson and his team exemplify it. I will forever be grateful to them for their help. Plus, they give their clients baked goods upon approval. Who doesn't love baked goods? read more

Shirley Dennis is a likable person. But from the result perspective, I cannot but have to give her and her team 1 star. The reasons are: 1. My loan was extended three times. I had to pay a huge amount of extension fees if I want to get the loan. Every time the loan was extended, they told me it will be closed by the due date, setting the wrong expectation for me. In the end, I just can't trust whatever they told me. 2. My credit was hard pulled 7 times in 6 weeks, causing my credit to drop from 780+ to ~720 which is a result of their weak loan strategies and misleading information. This was a surprise to me. Although I signed the contract for them to pull my credit, I never expect 7 times in 6 weeks. If I'm the loan agent, I would definitely follow up and give my clients heads-up because I know this will piss them off. They clearly don't put their customers first and don't care about their credit score at all. I feel they're just doing business as usual. If they close the loan as we agreed upon in time, sure that's fine. But when things don't go well, I don't see their commitment and putting extra effort to get things done. Worst loan agent I ever worked with so far. read more

I am the Listing Agent on a transaction of whom the buyer is being funded by Guild Mortgage. I won't name the specific person out of this office I'm working. Just don't drop the ball anymore! I am having a terrible experience so far. We are now 8 days outside of the scheduled COE and I am still being quoted another whole week! The loan officer has not been forwarding the correct parties in a timely manner as to the status on the file, to satisfy outstanding conditions. We are all busy, but get it together. I can understand 2 or 3 days even. But 2 whole weeks or more? And then to top it off, the loan officer has been selective in responding to inquiries on the file. The Buyers Agent seems to have partnered with a loan officer that's too disorganized, or too busy to offer good service. Listing Agents beware. If closing on time is what you are after, make sure you vet the loan officer from this company to let them know you are going to be mindful of their work, as that might of helped in my case. Make sure you babysit the status updates as well. I would have given a 1 star rating but added another simply because the folks answering the phones have been good and seemed to care about what's going on. read more

Misty, Karisa and Bonny went above and beyond to help us through our first home buying process. Even though the experience was quite overwhelming, The Team made sure we were on point. They were very efficient and thorough, especially with our documents and deadlines. They were very patient and answered every question promptly, even though the questions may not have made sense because we were new to the game. But they made sure we understood everything. They worked very well with our real estate agent. They came through as champs helping us close just before our appraisal expired. It was beating the buzzer close. Even after we closed they have still been very helpful answering more questions from us to aid us in our transition. We greatly appreciate your service and thank you for the surprise "toast" we received. Very grateful, Wayland and Kristina read more

This review is for one specific person who works at Guild, Misty. I was a first time home buyer and super confused about the home buying process. I spoke with Misty and she explained to me the process. When I emailed her for follow up questions, she would reply with "I've already told you/ explained this to you." Like my questions were such a burden to her. And when I would get answers from her, they would be super vague and short. Very frustrating. Misty definitely needs to work on her people skills. If you are going to use Guild Mortgage, talk to Lori. She was super nice and helpful and has much more patience. read more

Jayson and his team were one of the worst branches I have ever worked with. There were countless errors on my closing documents that I had to pointed out and they were never corrected. Jayson is not an active member at this branch. Every call I had with him, he was unprepared. When I would email him questions, he would have his team "address them". Jayson lacks professionalism and it is very apparent. His team is completely in over their heads . Their skillset is not a match for a manager who is not actively involved in the business. Jayson made my purchasing experience horrible! read more

Jayson Stebbins and his team at Guild Mortgage helped me obtain a home loan this past April/May. Guild was without a doubt professional, knowledgable and friendly. After a rocky experience with another lender, I had the good fortune to meet Jayson and quickly switched over to working with Guild. Jayson and his staff were on top of communication - always responding to my calls and emails promptly - answering questions even before I asked. They offered competitive rates and personal attention, worked with me to manage my unique situation and helped me fight for closing costs from the seller. Great interest rate, great service, on-time closing -- A+ for Guild! If you only knew the heartache and frustration that I went through with the previous lender, you'd understand that Jayson at Guild was an absolute blessing! read more

Jayson Stebbins and his team at Guild were smart, friendly, helpful, and patient (when required). They had an encyclopedic knowledge of available products and rules/conditions governing those products, which allowed for a quick and effective evaluation of the product(s) that would best suit my needs. When you work with such a competent bunch of professionals, it makes the mortgage process much less painful and easier for the layperson to understand. The application was straight-forward, the post-app process (e.g., appraisal, inspection, etc.), and closing was quick and simple. I would recommend Jayson, his team, and Guild Mortgage to anyone considering a home purchase or refinancing. read more

Guild provides good customer service, has a convenient physical location, willing to discuss various possibilities to select the best rate, and offers a wide variety competitive rates. Only suggestion would be to make the physical office more handicapped accessible. From the parking lot through the offices, a lot of walking is expected of clients. Perhaps they could review the flow of customers within the office and develop more efficient paths. This is especially true if a visit needs to be made to Chicago Title in the next suite. read more

Thank you Guild Mortgage for helping us through our refinance. Jayson Stebbins was able to get find the right plan that we needed to update our mortgage. If you like to receive vague, short, one line emails after taking an hour to fill out an application use these guys. I send an email asking 6 questions, receive one line, answering one of the questions, and this goes on.... and on.... while you waist a week of your time. I'll go back to my contact in Hayward, she knew how to do her job and could tell me more than a google mortgage calculator. Before you email anyone from Guild.....just go to google and you will be better informed on your options. read more

no problems on the loan side. I wish they had some weekend hours for us m-f workers.

We have had quite an ordeal finding the perfect house. We are first time home buyers, and had been looking for over a year, and have had some rough times with previous lenders (not getting back to us for periods of time, making simple mistakes...don't want that when we are dealing with so much $$...). We wanted to use a specific down-payment assistance program in Morgan Hill, so we went on the City of Morgan Hill's website. We found a list of lenders that used this program that we wanted, and emailed about 10 all at once. MSC was the first to get back to us, very informative in their email, and asked to set up an appointment. We were referred to Julius, and have worked with him since early June. Julius was VERY quick to respond to emails, very knowledgable in his field, and was able to work with our schedule (we were having to meet around 8:30pm at times because of our work scheudles). Julius had MANY connections within the city of Morgan Hill, which seemed to help with the whole process. He was able to contact people quickly, communicate well with banks we were dealing with on the seller's side, and keep us informed the whole time. We ended up getting into a short sale house, which just closed 3 days before Christmas!!!! Using a direct lender like MSC Advantage is slightly more expensive than using a bank, but at the point we reached, we felt it was worth it to get someone who really knew what they were talking about, as well as keep us informed to be sure we knew what was going on throughout the whole process. The entire time, we felt like we were Julius's only clients (I know he had more...) because we felt so taken care of. Thank you Julius and the whole team at MSC Advantage! When we were trying to find a lender, I went on yelp, and had no success. I am creating an account just so I can help inform others when going through such an important process!!!!
