I will happily change this to a 5 star review once they allow different payment options than once a month / in full. It's common knowledge that splitting up mortgage payments into twice monthly allows one to pay off a mortgage quicker, as it hits more of the principle and ends up being 13 months of payments by the end of the year. Also and simply - it eases the burden of the first of the month my allowing it to be spread out through the paychecks. Guild refuse. Apparently, according to customer service reps, the stakeholders / investors (read : bosses) refuse even though it's been requested by many in the company and customers request it all the time. There is no reason for this other than greed. The folks at the top want to make more money at the expense of those who have a loan w them. I call bullsh*t. We don't need more greed in the world right now, we need people who willingly do the right thing because it's helpful and kind. Guild - do the right thing. Quit being greedy. Be cool. Today we missed our 5th closing date because of Guild Mortgage. We sold our house to well qualified buyers who are using Guild Mortgage. Guild Mortgage has come up with excuse after excuse for delaying the closing. It's now been more than 3 months since we accepted the offer on our house. Today was our 5th scheduled closing date, and we were assured by the regional manager at Guild that there was no reason we would miss this one, yet here we are. As far as I'm concerned, if you have a pre-approval letter from Guild, it is not worth the paper it is written on. I will never again sell a house to someone using Guild Mortgage, and I'm sure it goes without saying, I will never use them to finance a home. read more

Dude...wHaT JUST happened?!?!?....Pfew.... as anyone who has purchased a home, and those who haven't but will, you know to buckle up for this house buying ride. A friend ,who's a local realtor, referred me to Paula to help as I was purchasing directly from the seller no realtor and NO idea what to do on my end...Kelli was my main contact and not only did she promptly answer my 1 bizzilion (give or take a million) questions she was super awesome and friendly about it from start to finish.....ugh I'm glad that's over but also patting myself on the back that I made a good choice in choosing to go with this Guild office. I've received an answer for my BBB complaint from the corporate office for Guild Mortgage and the answer did not even address my complaint. They dismissively offered a 10 dollar rebate for some random fee they think was not disclosed. My complaint has little to do with the actual money in this deal of which we would owe a similar amount regardless of the situation. It's about the company being deliberately obtuse about information that they were in possession of when they had us sign paperwork. They masked that information in the full face of my questions surrounding the situation. They may be lies by omission, but it's still lying. Their obtuseness caused undue stress on the deal, caused undue stress on us and really accomplished nothing. If the answer to my questions were that the closing would be delayed due to the reason it was delayed, I would have happily signed the paperwork on the day that the property was ready to be transferred. That was not the situation. The situation was that they knew and did not inform us; they in fact, rushed us to signing as quickly as possible under the guise of a deadline for closing despite the situation having much more time left. This company is dismissive of its customers and knows it can get away with treating people like numbers. They do not work honestly and they do not own their mistakes. At this point I am past mollification and past apology. I will continue to file complaints and will never use Guild Mortgage or any of its affiliates for any financing transactions that I may need in the future. read more

I am purchasing a house with a different lender but due to my work schedule I had to do the First Time Home Buyer Class with Guild Mortgage. I scheduled to take the one up in the Longview Office, It is a split day course where you take first half on Tuesday in the evening and a second part on Wednesday in the evening as well. I had to take off of work on Wednesday to do the second part. First part went well and the guy who taught us from guild mortgage seemed nice and was knowledgeable. The next day however they called and cancelled the class due to weather. A week went buy and I received no calls. I called the office and explained that I need to finish the class and they said they would call me back with a time. A couple of days later They called me back and told me that they are not doing a second class. He told me that I could "do it online" and that was my only choice. I bet if He was my Lender they would have never done this and would have finished the course. Clearly they only care if they are making money and did not care if I finished the course or not. I had to pay 50 dollars and take the course online (online is not free) Because I was closing on a house and needed it done. I missed work and had to re take the class online because Guild Mortgage was not willing to finish the second half. Coming from the Customer Service industry it is truly annoying when met with such service. Hopefully they treat other people better. I would look elsewhere for your mortgage needs. Everyone else in the class was working with him for a loan and I have a feeling they were taken care of. Way too aggressive with phone marketing, and then continued an ACH withdrawal after our sale closed. We owned our home through Guild. From the day we listed, I was screening my calls to avoid their marketers trying to get me to borrow with them again. Then when we closed, they took out an ACH payment afterward. They said it was in the fine print, pretty bad customer service. They acknowledged they knew the payoff was coming, since the title company had contacted them, but it was my obligation to cancel the ACH. And I have to wait two weeks to get it back. It's less about the money (which is lucky for me) than about how little they seem to care. read more

I have used many lenders for both buying homes and refinancing until I met the people at Guild Mortgage, they are in a completely different league! Paula Nirschl helped me with my refi and made me wish I had come across Guild years ago, her knowledge of options for me and educating me on these options and why some were better for me than others was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of money. The rates I received were far better than any I had come across and the turnaround was so quick and easy. Paula and her staff made it seem effortless which was nice as I am very busy and work in sales and didn't have a lot of extra time. I don't write reviews very often, but this is one deserves to be written. Deanna McClelland has just closed the loan on my 3rd house in the last 3 years. Deanna has done all of the loans for me. I am not wealthy by any means, this took incredible creativity to pull all 3 loans off. She is a miracle worker, she finds solutions when others can't. She has a great team that supports her and confidently delivers on her promises. I have and will continue to refer business to her for years to come. I highly recommend Guild Mortgage to anyone shopping for a home loan! As for the person who has been ranting about bad service from Guild. Really? as if one bad post was not enough? she has now put herself in the category of those who seem to enjoy writing bad reviews and obviously have nothing better to do with their time. Unfortunately there are people out there that enjoy to criticize others, and it discredits their reviews once they are discovered. At this point she has drawn more attention to her character than to the actual review. Makes me wonder what her real motivation is.
