We were very pleased with both the value and the overall experience. The entire team provided excellent service and made our stay memorable. A special thank-you to Ada for the warm check-in, Daud for assisting us with check-out, and Noah for being helpful when I called with a couple of questions. The breakfast staff and valet team were also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, and professional. We were delighted to receive an upgrade to a King Suite on the top floor. The suite was immaculate, spacious, and very quiet. We especially loved the beautiful marble bathroom, vanity table, spacious closet, and incredibly comfortable king bed. The living room was also very comfortable, with a large sectional sofa and beautiful accent pillows. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with Balmain shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soaps. The fragrance was absolutely divine and added a lovely luxurious touch to the experience. Although our reservation was for two nights beginning August 8, we decided to check out the following evening. This worked out perfectly for us, as we were able to leave at a time that was convenient for us and avoid the heavier traffic on our drive home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book here again for another staycation. Highly recommended!

While we understood that additional arrangements would come at a cost, we were disappointed that there wasn't even a simple "happy birthday" at check-in or a small note in the room. Since the possibility of a special experience was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, it was disappointing that nothing was acknowledged. The location was excellent, with restaurants and parks within easy walking distance. However, the room and amenities had several issues. The air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool, the shower did not drain properly and left us standing in about an inch of water, and the pillows were either extremely flat or uncomfortably firm. The hotel also automatically charged a daily credit, but the options for using it were limited. If you don't drink or order from the lobby bar, there didn't seem to be much available beyond room service, which came from a fairly expensive menu. Even a bottle of water or a small snack would have made the credit more useful. The location was great, but given the lack of attention to our special occasion and the maintenance and amenity issues, we would likely consider another hotel if we return to the area.

Stayed at Loews Philadelphia Hotel using my Chase Sapphire Reserve The Edit hotel benefit, and…read moreoverall we had a really nice stay. The location was super convenient for exploring the city, especially since we were spending time exploring Chinatown and downtown Philadelphia, looking for Philly Mini Prints, haha We stayed on the 32nd floor, and the city view was beautiful. I had read reviews mentioning slow or broken elevators, so I was a little worried, but thankfully we didn't have any elevator issues during our stay. The Chase benefits made the stay even better. We received two drinks at Bank & Bourbon Bar, valued at $30, which we could use on any night of our stay. We also received a $100 property credit, which we used toward valet parking, plus daily complimentary breakfast for two ($75 total allowance per day). The receptionist recommended the breakfast buffet, but we had in-room dining both mornings, and I'm SO glad we did! Better quality and portion. I strongly recommend the in-room breakfast. The one thing we didn't appreciate was the AC making a strange, loud noise. It sounded almost like someone was repeatedly banging on our door, which was startling when it happened unexpectedly. Hopefully, this was just an issue with our particular AC unit. Despite this, we really enjoyed our staycation and loved the experience.

The building is the former Philadelphia Saving Fund Society (PSFS) headquarters, designed by architects George Howe and William Lescaze and completed in 1932 during the Great Depression at a cost of about $8 million. It is widely regarded as the first major International Style (modern) skyscraper in the United States and one of the most important American buildings of the early 20th century. It features a distinctive T-shaped tower for maximizing light and space, innovative elements like early central air-conditioning ("weather in a box"), and high-quality materials including stainless steel, marble, terrazzo, and exotic woods. The iconic red neon PSFS sign on the roof remains a defining part of the Philadelphia skyline (visible from up to 20 miles away) and was an early example of integrated architectural advertising. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and is a National Historic Landmark. After the bank closed in 1992, it was converted into a hotel by Loews Hotels (announced in 1997 with Philadelphia Mayor Ed Rendell's involvement), with renovations preserving original features; it opened as Loews Philadelphia Hotel in April 2000. The original banking hall is now an event space, and the 33rd floor (once reserved for top bank executives) has been renovated for meetings with skyline views. It stands roughly 33-36 stories (around 491 feet to the roof, taller with the former antenna). It's nice and old I would say, right. Lots of old memorabilia all over the place. My stay was riddled with elevator issues. Bad. 20 min waits in some cases. I went up and down flights of stairs trying to cheat the elevators. People were so desperate to get on an elevator that they were taking them up, just to go down. There were only two out of the six that went above the 19th floor that were operable. Room was fine. Bed was comfy. I was on the 20th floor, so yay that I had a bad view and had to ride the shitty elevator system. Would not pay for this if they do not fix the elevators. It's insane! '26 - 114

We were well aware that the hotel is minimalistic and doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles; however, we felt like the minimum things a hotel should provide were not provided to us. The air conditioner wasn't working when we got back to our hotel room after a night out in the city. We had set it to 68 and when we returned, the thermometer was still reading 77. We called down to the front desk for assistance and was told that she would check if engineering was available, yet we never heard back from anyone the entire night. When we checked in, we were told that there is someone available 24/7 for any assistance and we learned that this was not the case. Also at check out, we were never asked how our stay was, and our air conditioning issue was never even mentioned which shows that our issue/complaint fell on deaf ears. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay, especially for the price point. The hotel didn't seem like it was ready for opening week and should not be charging the prices it's charging for the level of service provided. For just a little bit more, we could've stayed somewhere nicer. We will definitely not be staying here again.

TL;DR: Great space, but probably wouldn't stay here again mainly due to noise…read more I first heard of this place via Google AI before checking Google, Yelp, and Reddit reviews. Not as much feedback as larger hotel chains, but everything I found was pretty positive. For the dates I was booking I had 2 ground-floor options available, one facing Front St., and another facing the rear. I chose the rear to reduce street noise. First impression of this place was amazing. The space felt more like a tastefully decorated studio apartment than a hotel. The appliances are modern, bathroom spacious, and everything seemingly clean. However, there were 2 immediate issues that put me off a bit: Firstly, I booked an extra day due to arriving on a red-eye with the hopes that the room would be good-to-go in order to catch up on some rest. However, I noticed right away that the HVAC was turned off and it was a fairly cold morning. I turned on the heat, but after waiting 2 hours there was no noticeable change in temperature. I will say the hotel was very responsive to my text messages, and were able to fix the issue remotely once I did reach out. Secondly, none of the outlets in the unit worked. I'm unsure if was related to the HVAC problem, but I was eventually able to locate the circuit breaker and noticed the circuits for the outlets were either tripped or turned off. Between the HVAC and electrical issues- any hope I had on catching up on rest was destroyed. The final issue that sealed the deal for me not returning was the noise. In fairness, our unit(#2) is adjacent to not only the main entrance, but also the rear faces a common space. There is a little patio/garden area that at first glance seems like it might be private, but due to a lack of a gate/door- I presume it is a common space. Look, I lived in NYC for a decade and am no stranger to noise, but this was beyond tolerable. During both nights we stayed, but especially the first night where we were already sleep deprived, noise was a huge issue for my partner and I. Between the hours of 1am to 3:30am 2 drunk guys entered and exited at least a dozen times. I don't know if they were on a coked up, late-night scavenger hunt or what, but what I do know is one was named Will from hearing it repeatedly. At 2:30am they decided it was a good time to stand outside our window rambling about nothing. We were able to fall asleep around 4am to be woken up promptly at 6am with music blasting and someone shouting. I don't know if the morning noise was from a nearby business or another guest, but the end result was no more than 2 hours of sleep before a wedding. I texted the hotel and they again responded very promptly saying they'd look into it, but I never received any follow up. EDIT: No such follow up was promised to me, but would have been helpful. All in all, the space itself is fantastic and hotel very responsive, but due to a few misses in attention to detail and the noise, I would not return to this location. Also, look- I understand that noise from other guests is beyond the immediate control of the hotel staff. The staff was responsive, friendly, and helpful. The review reflects only my willingness to recommend another person stay here based on my experience, and not at all on the staff. EDIT: In response to the reply from the hotel: I just checked my phone and email and can confirm that I did not receive any such follow up. Perhaps it was to the wrong number? Either way I did appreciate the quick responses. I also changed from 2 star to 3. 2 is too harsh given the crux of my complaint was beyond the hotel's control- and given the staff's friendliness.

You enter the hotel and room via a code. Instructions were very clear, I had no issue. The room I stayed in consisted of a bed, full stove and refrigerator, a small sitting table with two chairs, an oversized chair by the bed, a large closet, a booklet full of local recommendations and full bathroom. The kitchen was stocked with oil and vinegar, a bag of pre-ground coffee from Elixr Coffee Roasters, a Chemex and kettle to make a pour over and some canned drinks (which I didn't touch so I can't vouch for them). The bathroom featured body wash and shampoo from a local soap place. During the stay, emailed instructions arrived about how to properly use the climate features in the room. On the day of checkout, another email arrived detailing how to take care of my garbage and what I needed to know to properly check out. The location is awesome. It is right around the corner from the Underground Arts venue. Elixr Coffee is nearby. It is just a short walk to Reading Terminal Market, Chinatown, Broad Street and the Center of the City. It was absolutely packed when we went. Every gallery on First Friday tends to have its own style and the artists they feature reflect that. This one leaned more toward pop art. Bright colors, bold graphics, and pieces that mix humor with commentary. Some of the works had pretty sharp messages that feel very tied to the current cultural moment. Because it was so crowded, my friend and I didn't stay too long. There were also quite a few tables with leftover food and half finished beers sitting out that hadn't been cleaned up yet, which made the space feel a little messy. It might just be because the turnout was bigger than expected. Still, it was cool to see the hotel participate and turn the space into a gallery for the night. Worth popping into if you're already doing the First Friday rounds.

During my research, they had decent reviews on my company website 3.6/5. When I first arrived, I was a little hesitant because my Uber driver dropped me off in what looked like an alley. The entrance isn't very obvious, and the building resembles an industrial office more than a hotel. However, I appreciated that the hotel requires a keypad for entry after certain hours, which added an extra sense of security. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. The common areas, kitchen, bathrooms, and closets were all clean and well maintained. The door uses a key less lock. There are also lockers in the hallway - I am assuming if someone arrives earlier than check in, they can utilize those lockers for their luggage. The elevator is older and moves very slowly, but the staircase is easily accessible. They have a roof top and gym, but I didn't get the chance to check it out after a long days at the conference. Some criticism - Upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the second floor. At first glance, everything appeared clean, but when I pulled back the blanket, I noticed a strong perfume scent and found short hairs scattered across the bed sheets. I went to the front desk to request fresh linens and brought the used sheets with me. Unfortunately, they didn't have an extra fitted sheet available, so they provided several flat sheets instead, and I improvised for the night since it was so late and I was weary from flying all day. The following morning, housekeeping came and replaced all of the bedding. I assume the hotel was fully booked since I wasn't offered a different room. The floors themselves and the rug was not very clean. The bottom of my shoes were extremely dusty. Other than that initial issue, my stay was comfortable, and the hotel's convenient location and friendly staff made it a good choice for attending a conference. Maybe I'll opt to stay at a Bonvoy partner next time since I'm more familiar with them and I won't have too many surprises.
