Since I've been trying to limit trips out of the home, I've found that its fresh vegetables I run out of most quickly. So getting a weekly box has been perfect. I also ordered a month's supply of frozen meat and it's a huge amount, with beef, pork, and chicken. I actually started using Our Harvest Cooperative maybe 3 years ago but stopped for a time because pick up wasn't fitting in my schedule. I'm really glad to be back at it. The vegetables are always fresh, with a thoughtful variety too - rotating zucchini and tomatoes right now so we don't get bored of just one thing. They also give us basil, chives, parsley, so that also helps with recipes and staying out of the store. Lastly, I wanted to give a shout out to the staff and volunteers with Our Harvest - one more than one occasion they've reached out to me to make something more convenient for me if there was a hiccup. I have also visited the farm and I was given a tour and felt like they were excited I was there, rather than a nuisance. I definitely recommend this community supported agriculture, or CSA organization.

I have been to many local markets, but Hawks Run still thoroughly exceeded my previous expectations!! It feels like a vintage grocery store, but with all the modern products you could hope for in the 2020s. Even in February, there is fresh local produce and very high quality foods and natural products. The owner told me that many people shop here for the gluten free options, and I can see why!! There was a thrilling amount of gluten free bakery items (I sampled the chocolate chip cookie that tastes so good you couldn't have guessed it was gluten free, YUM!) Outside, there is lovely seating options and plenty of room for kids to play. Lots of nice lighting for when it gets dark. It seems like a wonderful place to gather in warm weather! I truly cannot wait to return, both in the cold months and once it is summer!! They were parked at the far end of the lot near the stairs (which are awesome!). I had my food to go and tried the avocado grilled cheese and the Pickle Rick. I much preferred the Pickle Rick. It brings back so many thoughts of summer! In my adult life, I have still continued to visit often, as I am on the bike trail several times throughout the week. For instance, I was on a 14 mile run in the hot sunshine and noticed that the ice shack was now open! I had to stop and get a snack, as I was so thirsty! The ice definitely cooled me down and helped give me some energy to finish my run. I have been checking out the natural flavors. These are flavors that are natural fruit juices. My favorite is the Hawaiian sunset! Even if you don't want to go all natural, there is an entire list to choose from. It would be a great mission to choose a new flavor each week over the summer (an all-time favorite is black cherry!!). They also have shaved ice available over ice cream. If you get the orange shaved ice on top of vanilla ice cream, it tastes just like a creamsicle. Grab some shaved ice and start walking down the bike trail. You see lots of people doing this during the summer, and it's the perfect summer activity and treat!
