I am trying to fill out my life insurance questionnaire through Guardian. It's been the worst experience ever. They cannot find my information that my employer gave to them. Second, I have to give them my information as if I am signing up for a new policy. Third, they are making it nearly impossible to fill out the form. Terrible dental insurance coverage if you use out of network. I even called prior to my procedure to make sure what would be covered and they lied. After my procedure they were denying the claim. Didn't even cover a third of it. Such a joke. And the representatives you talk to, barely speak English, the one girl hung up on me. Absolutely no help at all, coverage sucks. Short term disability claim was denied with no explanation, despite submitting multiple physician notes. I received no explanation for the claim denial. Well, although I did everything right, they stopped my insurance benefits before I returned to work. It was very stressful because I had bills to pay. I contacted, called emailed. They are a fraud. The worst experience of my life not to mention the large amount of money that I lost by one of their "advisors" (and I use that term loosely) flat out lied to me and manipulated me into buying whole life insurance. He showed me on the graph where at 7 years the money I paid monthly would be "all my money" and I could turn around and withdraw it. I was very specific that thats why it sounded good and why I bought the policy. Only to find out that the money I was withdrawing was actually a LOAN!! With interest. I contacted Guardian and they did nothing about it. They talked to Cantey and believed his lies and never even reached out to me for my side of the story. Very bad experience. Denied my build up claim and crown claim. They refused to identify their "reviewing dentist" that made the decision it wasn't needed. Called customer service and rep hung up on me when I questioned process. I've had an accident policy with them through my employer for over a year. Filed a claim when my daughter broke her toe, and it's been a losing battle trying to get this paid. Despite the fact that they have x-rays, treatment reports, etc. from her ER visit, they now want the exact same thing from the doctor she saw for follow-up treatment. Even though the claim form gives all providers permission to send them this information, they want us to do their legwork. My daughter is currently on the other side of the country and can't do this. I guess the joke will be on them next year, when my company changes carriers (I'm the one who makes that decision) and they lose all those premiums. I had my fingers smashed and broken, filed for my short term disability was told someone would be reaching out however I had to call back 4xs before I got to speak with someone who could make a decision on my claim. Which was longer then the 10 days they claim it would take to process I was approved however they still haven't paid me. I informed them I have a cancelation notice that I have to have my money gave them the deposit info for bank, however they put in the wrong checking account numbers. They made me wait longer than the 10 days got approved supposedly sent money but the number were wrong all their mistakes yet I still have to wait. Called 6 times each time a different excuse ask for management can't speak to any, cause none is available. I was told a manager would call me back each time I called but I still never got a call back from anyone yet This is been going on since June . Now I have lost services cause I couldn't pay because they keep giving excuses as to why I haven't gotten my money.. It's digital banking so there should be no hindrance at all. Customer service experience is nonexistent. I sent no less than 10 emails over a three week timeframe regarding my current insurance policies. I got an email back saying will contact you within two days. Two days never came. The last email was a phone number for me to call the customerto a call center. Their website is garbage, their customer service 800# leads you to people who seem very minimally trained. Enrolled in text updates - don't receive those. Everything is a "48 hour turnaround time". This is a negative 5 star dental insurance company. They refuse to pay for any of my dental work. Including a crown that came off and a cracked tooth. They never fail to take money out of my paycheck. They owe $900 & are refusing to pay. There is no point to having dental insurance that will absolutely screw over the person who pays them. I want a full refund of every single cent I've had to pay. P.S. I'm on the PPO plan. I'm not taking HMO. This is how they treat the folks paying them the most. P.P.S. Received a letter from guardian saying my wife will start getting $150 a week starting May 1rst 2025, that's less than 30% of my wife's salary, also she is receiving chemotherapy and hasn't being able to work since March 7th and hasn't received one penny from them yet, when she contacted them requesting information was told the claim is still under review by a manager, all is fine while they are getting our money, once we need help, then we will see who these companies really are. read more

Do not let an advisor talk you into a whole life plan with Guardian -- even if your advisor is an 'independent advisor', you will later find out that they have stake in the company (like I discovered about Luis Corrales of Corrales & Co, or Devon Cury of yourfgp.com). Apparently they didn't care that I'm a healthy, young, non-profit professional with a volatile career, who should not be paying for life insurance with a high monthly payment, knowing i have gaps in non-profit contracts. I was sold on the idea that I'd be covered as an independent woman if i became disabled and couldn't work (turned out not to be true.) I was sold on the idea that it would grow over time to create a retirement account (which takes decades and i could have earned way more in an S&P500). I made the mistake to blindly trust people, my fault. I lost $26k in 8 years, then when I stopped payments and spent six months figuring out if I should surrender it or not, Guardian stole another $2k from me because of some clause deep in the contract that a loan agency will cover your payments when you don't pay, and you will owe interest. The advisors and the Guardian staff knew that i wanted to stop payments, yet they did not warn me about this loan situation. This company stole a year's salary from me, at a time when my finances are tighter than ever, especially as my humanitarian career (for which i'm in debt because of my masters programme) is slowly dissolving because of a new wave of greedy world leaders. read more

Sent in supporting documents like they asked me to and still wasnt able to get my Direct Deposit setup. Open a new checking account and gave them that information they still wasn't able to to verify my account for direct deposit. THE BIGGEST SCAM! I have been dealing with Guardian for short term disability since Dec 2. this company is the worst company I've ever worked with. Every submission takes two days to show in their system and then they have ten days to make a decision. I'm now going on day 16 and after calling daily am now told it's with a nurse for review and that can take another 5. You will be promised call back after call back. but I've yet to receive one. you can NOT talk to your case manager. if you have the option to go anywhere else for insurance go there. read more

I have had a horrible experience with Guardian as an accident insurance. When submitting a claim online, you can only upload 3 documents. Other supporting documents must be emailed. They say they never received the emailed documents. Additionally, they never notified me a claim number had been assigned. I logged into their site looking for the claim number and learned the claim had been processed and denied stating I did not have coverage; they even entered the DOS as the date the claim was filed instead of the actual date the accident occurred. My employer and I went back and forth with them to verify that I did have the coverage, and so here we are with Guardian saying they now need a letter from my employer and waiting 48 hrs for documents emailed a 2nd time to be received. Can you guess whether I will elect to pay into accident coverage in the future from Guardian? Unbelievable! read more

It has been weeks and no call back or email sent. Every time I call CS line I'm either met with an attitude, hung up on "accidentally", or lied to by the representative. They pretend to put my request through and tell me to wait 24-48hrs. When nothing happens within that timeframe I have to callback and they act surprised. I am an administrator for employee benefits and they are denying a claim for an employee for not being enrolled through COBRA. We have provided them proof the enrollment was transmitted to them from ADP and are happy to pay the retro premiums, but they won't budge. I have have done business through them multiple times as a benefit administrator and after this, I won't use them ever again. There are other companies that once we showed they received the file they would have fixed this, but Guardian won't. They go in the same bucket as UHC. read more

Guardian will not reimburse me for a crown and it's been 3 1/2 months of phone calls and continued denials. Three times Guardian said that my dentist did not submit X-rays or narrative about the need for a crown. When I gave them the attachment # as received from Guardian by my dentist, then they said that the x-ray wasn't clear enough and the narrative wasn't clear enough. So they lied to me on three occasions. What a shoddy business practice. I'm now waiting for a supervisor to call me back in 1-2 business days. The crown fixed my pain that I experienced with the tooth...and the procedure claim is being denied? Do they think that I wanted a crown and the nerve-wracking grinding down of the original tooth? I still haven't been paid anything. I am a single mom up to young kids. I've been chasing them down trying to figure out what they needed to process my claim. I've gotten the runaround from non-United States located customer service department I've been told multiple times that I would receive a call from my case manager when I have not. They do not treat you like a client or human. Every conversation feels robotic scripted. Nor do they understand that you're a a person struggling with mental issues or that you're depending income to support your family and pay for your financial obligations. They really need a treat somebody that's seeking help and support during this time with mental health issues serious because it could be a very big liability. They feel like they have no hope or no where to turn. So, I needed to call them. They have a voice response system that doesn't understand the word "life", so I had to go through disability and have them transfer me. Received a letter from Guardian, dated early April 2023, stating that my Whole Life policy premium would need to be paid IN FULL this year because there were insufficient dividends earned this year to cover my premium. Then received the premium notice, dated last week, for the full $1,000+ premium. What?! No dividend at all? Just called Guardian and eventually learned that there was a dividend earned on my policy and that the dividend was less than $99 short of my annual premium. If I did not call, then I would have paid 10X more than I should! OOPSY. Wonder what Guardian will do with all the extra cash that they get from people who didn't / don't bother to follow-up? Had short and long term disability through my company and I went out on short term and when ended waited 2 months with no income still under doctor's care and the case manager was out on leave and her assistant didn't handle anything and then the case manager came back from her leave and pit in her notice of quitting and all of her cases including mine was not taken care of at all and 2 months of no income waiting on my long term disability they denied me while still under doctor's care. Wake up people and read their policies because they DO NOT cover pre existing medical issues and they don't monitor their employees to make sure they are doing their jobs and screw you over in the end.
