Jason was incredibly patient and helpful - I felt like I could fully trust him. He would follow up with me on weekends and on weeknights since my schedule was incredibly crazy during the regular workday. I cannot even tell you how much I appreciated that. When it was time for my fiance and me to buy our home this last February, we went back to Jason. Again, the process was pleasant, seamless and as hassle-free as it could be. Tara at MSA helped us find and compile all the proper documentation. Jason helped us get an incredibly low rate this time around and I know that if we ever buy again, we'll go back to MSA. Thanks, Jason + team!

Due to pressures of time, we were stuck with the guy who we happened to run into at an open house. I suppose it was a bad sign that he immediately reminded me of Gil from The Simpsons. From the first meeting (when we'd told him that we were looking for properties in the $300-350k range, and he presented us with the option of buying a $800k property and splitting it with friends), to the day of the closing (when he proceeded to lose his temper on the phone --- on three separate calls --- to Joy, the seller and the lawyer representing the mortgage company), he was a king klutz who gave the impression that he'd never sold a house before, despite having 10 years of realtor experience. He was unable to answer basic questions that we, as first-time housebuyers, had. He seemed bamboozled by the process of filling out forms like the Offer and Purchase & Sales Agreement. During the home inspection, he appeared more concerned with downplaying defects to save his commission than actually making sure the house was something we wanted to buy. Talking to him made me wish that telephones came with some way to bitchslap the person at the other end of the line. Having to deal with Tom Bransten was the most stressful part of buying the house. Thankfully, we never have to speak to the man again. You are encouraged to avoid him too.

He seriously worked way harder to help me find and land my home than I EVER hoped or expected, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. From the start, Jason listened to what I was looking for and never made me feel like it was unattainable or I was looking for too much. We saw plenty of places that were beautiful but 'just not the one' - once I said that to him, it was immediately on to the next and he never pressured me to cave on any of my criteria (no matter how ridiculous or detailed it was). I really felt like that was unique about Jason in the Boston real estate world - he is sincere, and I always felt like his goals & my goals were 100% aligned (from finding every criteria I wanted, not over-paying, & taking the time I needed to search). His knowledge of the neighborhoods I was looking in (South End, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, North End) was superb & his research into what we should offer was in-depth and thoughtful. When running the comps, he really went above and beyond & included homes that took more 'creative thinking' than I think most agents would put in the effort to find. It was actually a little scary how many of the homes we looked at ended up selling for prices dead-on with the what Jason expected...

When I asked about the rentals, the people at the front desk were very short, and get me a card and directed me to call the agent for further assistance. When I said I would possibly be buying, I was redirected to the card. When I mentioned that I was a property owner, and possibly going to refinance, it was all nice-y nice-y, smiles and happiness galore. The loan agent was very helpful, and took a few minutes out of his day to go over some scenarios and loan types, and I may possibly contact him to help us out with the loan. He's got his own company, and although he's housed in the office, I believe he probably would work with an agent of my choice -- it's all about commission, right? But as far as using one of the real estate agents (and I did have a card put in my hand by an agent -- as I was leaving --who was being very rude at the the beginning of my visit), I won't be going with this branch. All I gotta say is customer service goes a lot further with me than a company name, and the people who were unhelpful at the beginning ruined the chances of this office earning my money.
