This bugs in the 3 plates of rice.
    Nicke A.

The service here is awful than before. Use to come here a lot 5 years ago and they always have no personality. Like woman is a problem to these GT workers. I will not return. Use to love the soups here. Plantain too soft didn't fry well, rice is extremely soft and whatever these bugs are in all 3 plates of rice. The curry goat is spicy and tasty but tuff. We ordered fried chicken night before and it tasted like Bbq chicken. None vaping sign in the restaurant but ppl were vaping behind us. The gal only brought 1 menu for 3 of us. They acting like they can't be bothered. This is not the only place to go. Lots of Guyanese hangout here more, maybe that's why it's still in business. The music is overly loud.

Chicken lo mein. Large portion size. Yumm

I happened upon this restaurant a week ago and deliberately went back yesterday. I went back with a few friends to introduce them to some of the best Guyanese food that I have had in a while. The food quality was great. The temperature was perfect. The taste was amazing. Food was cooked to perfection. Extremely large portions. I will be back again BTW they have karaoke on Monday and Wednesday nights, they also have a one man ban on Thursday nights. I was able to experience both a Wednesday and Thursday night I enjoyed myself both times. Go check them out!

3.5 starts. Escovitched chicken is okay. A little dry but flavorful and spicy. Rice and peas is good. And the fish cake is good as well.

I had the seafood soup (decent) and the goat curry (mindblowing - you will be sucking the marrow out the bones and everything).

Among the many soigné Trini eateries scattered across Queens, this one layers in just the right accoutrements to truly awaken your palate. The Bake and Shark itself is a revelation: flaky, golden, and impossibly crisp, yet light and ethereal with every bite. Sweet bursts of pineapple weave through the savory richness, striking a perfect balance that transports you straight to the shoreline--sun on your skin, salt in the air, and the rhythm of the Caribbean just beyond the waves. My Trini friend was shocked that I;ve never had doubles and so this day was my lucky day. When you reach, the servers take your order along with as many toppings and additions. They also had bake and shark, bake and saltfish, and other items to choose from such as dhal puri roti, pholourie with tamarind sauce, it was my first time so I didn't go too crazy and wanted to appreciate the essence of the doubles. **A MUST VISIT RESTAURANT IN LITTLE GUYANA** **DELICIOUS…read moreFOOD & BAKERY ITEMS** A SPECIAL PART OF QUEENS Spanning about thirty blocks around Liberty Ave in Richmond Hill, is a very interesting neighborhood known as Little Guyana. An area where one of the largest populations of Guyanese immigrants reside in New York, along with others hailing from Trinidad, Jamaica, India, and Asia. As such, it's a bustling Indo-Caribbean mixing pot neighborhood, with - in some areas - a times square vibe. And most importantly, home to multiple restaurants, Carribean bakeries, clothing shops, grocery stores, and even Guyanese style Chinese food restaurants (Yes, that really is a thing!) EXPERIENCE LITTLE GUYANA AT SYBIL'S A fantastic way to start off your exploration of Little Guyana is to visit Sybil's Bakery. Here, Sybil, an expat from Guyana, along with her relatives and children, have been serving Guyanese specialties to the Richmond Hill community for almost 50 years. Offering steam tables filled with fantastic food, Bakery items, and authentic drinks. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT Ask someone from Guyana, and they'll tell you that Sybil's is a top spot to visit in the neighborhood. Because of this, the restaurant can sometimes become very crowded, with a line spilling out the door, and down the sidewalk. So it's best not to visit during peak times if possible. And as it's a small restaurant with no tables, you must enter, grab a ticket from the dispenser, and then wait for your number to be called. And while waiting, it's a great time to check the various offerings in the steam table area, take a peak at all the bakery items and patties, and peruse the large menu above the counter. And to be honest, because of the large number of choices here, you really need to do this, so you'll have somewhat of an idea what to order when you're called. YOU HAVE TO TRY... Just about everything is delicious here, so all the standard Caribbean dishes, such as Jerk Chicken, Stewed Chicken, Fried Chicken, Oxtail, Curries and sides are all great choices. And then another wonderful item to try here, is Guyanese Pepper Pot, a traditional meat stew with a dark spiced gravy. And don't forget to order a tasty Roti to eat along with any saucy dishes you order. In addition, the fantastic Guyana Style Chinese items, such as the Chow Mein (fried noodles) and Fried Rice - which are my favorite- are seasoned exceptionally well with Caribbean spices, making these dishes hit differently, in comparison to other restaurants. Of course there are regular Jamaican style Beef Patties and Chicken Patties being served here, which are very tasty. But the Guyana style Patties, which are round, and packed full with either beef or chicken, & veg are scrumptious and unique. With these, the crust is more similar to that of a chicken pot pie, and the generous filling is fantastic. Meanwhile, because these are so friggin good, you will see people order them here by the dozen, to take home. So don't pass these up. Another popular choice, especially during lunch, are Sybil's famous Fish Sandwiches and Jerk Chicken Sandwiches. These start out with either fried fish or jerk chicken, along with lettuce, tomato, tartar sauce, another slightly sweet special sauce, and then some hot sauce, on a wonderful, mildly sweet and soft Coco Bread. Sybil's makes these sandwiches here, non-stop all day long, and there's a deliciously good reason why! BUT SYBIL'S IS A BAKERY ALSO! A trip to Sybil's for most people usually entails purchasing food, and then also Guyanese style baked goods. Some items of note, are the fresh Tennis Rolls, a dense, slightly sweet roll famous for being eaten with a nice slab of cheese in between, creating the best cheese sandwich ever. And if you enjoy cheese, the Cheese Roll pastry, the Cheese Pie tart and the Cheese Scone are also wonderful. And some examples of the sweeter style baked goods here, are the famous Guyana Pineapple Tarts and Guava Tarts which are a must try. Along with the Carrot Cake, Cassava Cake, Cherry buns, Coconut Drops, Chinese Cakes, Currant Rolls, and Solara, just to name a few. I LOVE THIS PLACE All in all, Sybil's is not a perfect restaurant. There are no tables to eat-in, it's usually crowded, and the ordering process can feel a bit rushed and intimidating your first time here. Moreover, if your looking for the best Trinidad style Doubles and Roti, then - without a doubt - Trinciti, Trini Delight and Singh's Roti Shop are better destinations. (Look for my previous review of Singh's Roti Shop if you have a chance). But let me tell you, if I am anywhere near Little Guyana, and I'm hungry, It's a good chance that I'm stopping at Sybil's for some of my favorite food and some magical baked items to take home. Because I really love this place, and if you get to know this unique restaurant like I do, I bet you may fall in love also.

It's a fairly large restaurant. We ordered cocktails, few tapas and the steak. I would've ordered another entree but they were out of dish after dish that I would've tried.. well it turned out to be enough food since the omelette dish was so dense and I filled up on bread. The best dish was the shrimp with garlic tapa which I usually wouldn't bother ordering but I've already tried most of the menu. Lots of garlic. Really tasty ..dipped the oil with the bread. We were sitting there for a while, waiting for our drinks and other food but nothing came out so I wanted more bread since I was starving. My first meal that day. One the guys brought more bread for us quickly. The steak and omelette finally came. I would never order the omelette dish but L wanted to try it and it was tapas Tuesday so there was a slight discount. Very bland. Not enough egg, too much potato, very dry so we spooned a lil of the garlic oil from the shrimp dish and it helped a lot. I had a lil but L ate the rest. Salad was good but it was overdressed. The steak was a lil bit bloody in the middle even though we ordered it medium so it wasn't as good as we had it before. We still didn't get our cocktails because the bartender lady kept making margaritas which were only $5 that day instead of our $17 drinks. Someone came past 7:30pm and our waitress said he was gonna make our drinks. The drinks were pretty good but we already finished our food. Usually I would have ordered one of each cocktail at Sala but I was full and had other places to go. The slow service and the unavailability of certain dishes has impacted my recommendation to others but I still like the drinks here and we did enjoy the gambas tapa dish a lot..
