Small Business-Huge heart
The level of compassion and kindness we experienced at Gruene Dragon is very rare and deviates from what most encounter on a regular basis.
On the Friday before Labor Day, we were scheduled to leave for New Braunfels for the long weekend. My guy has been having some sciatic nerve issues but had been seeing a chiropractor so we were optimistic that he'd recover miraculously and we'd be able to let the fun commence. By the time we made the 4 hour drive, he was in such misery, he was unable to sit upright. He was only able to lay flat in the car or stand up (still experiencing discomfort, but less excruciating). We started discussing options once we got to NB. The options included CBD balm/oil, an emergency room visit, copious amounts of margaritas or even acupuncture. At this point, we are at Black's BBQ and saw that Gruene Dragon was next to it but the website said they were closed but we thought we'd try.
We approach the business and I pull on the handle and it is indeed locked. When I was going back to my car a kind lady came to the door asking if I was looking for her. I explained that we were hoping to walk in and get a treatment. She told me that she was there waiting on someone and that unfortunately, she was closed on Friday. I thanked her and walked next door to the Vape Shop to see if they had CBD products that were not for vaping. The gentleman explained that they were out at the moment and made a recommendation. When I was walking back to my car, the lady I'd encountered behind the locked door came out and with mercy in her eyes said she wanted to go ahead and treat him. We told her she didn't have to but she insisted since he was in pain.
She took him in the room, performed the treatment (while also tending to her appointment that was scheduled and she was there for). She was so kind and explained the process to him thoroughly and then she'd come out and explain to me what she was doing and what the next steps were.
Not only did she take us when she was closed, she also gave us a very expensive apparatus to take with us (an infrared light) and told me to just call her on Monday on our way out. She gave me her cell number to reach her. Kim Jacobs may actually be a saint on earth...I was amazed by the way she treated us when she didn't know us from any (literal) random strangers off the street. When I called her the next day to tell her that we were going to go ahead and head home so he could just be miserable there, she offered to give him a different courtesy treatment to try to help. We declined this because he just wanted to get home (4 hours away). Even though the treatment didn't work for him (it's not a testament to the work, he would need more treatments for any tangible healing)-I would recommend anyone in this area to go see Kim at Gruene Dragon. Thank you for your kindness, we will never forget it!! read more
