Thank you, Pointe Academy for giving us a little peace of mind during the busy work week! His teacher, Ms Ashley really accelerated his learning with colors, crafts, numbers and vocabulary. The school is very economical for what they offer and my son enjoyed his time here. My main suggestion for the facility would be to add an auto locking door for security, or to lock the doors after drop off time. Still, they do have front staff checking parents and students coming and goings . Phelma and Marla are the two directors who took a big interest in our son and we greatly appreciate all they did for our family. I would not hesitate to bring my next child here until they are eligible for preschool.

The people who bought them are located in Garland and are no where to be found or reached. They kept the teachers thankfully cause they are amazing, but switched up a lot of rules and things that were very inconsiderate and inconsistent to the families they have had there for years. As much as we hated to do it we pulled our kid out after many dealings with them. These teachers here are the best but the company that runs it has made it drown quickly. I know they lost more kids than just ours in the following weeks after corporate started changing rules.

I will start off by saying I am a first responder so I am extremely picky and very protective when it comes to my children. If I didn't have total confidence in ALFK Academy I would not be leaving this review or entrusting them with my child's care and education. When we moved to the area a year and a half ago we needed to find child care/early education for our youngest. We searched around the Sherman/Denison area and zeroed in on ALFK Academy after checking with other centers because of their focus on teaching children in a Christ centered atmosphere. The class sizes are great and allow for more one-on-one time if needed. The entire staff is wonderful and communicate with us on a daily basis whether at drop off or pick up, or via phone if there is a need to do so. My son is excited every morning to go to school and see his teachers and friends. Sometimes he can be quite a handful, but the staff know exactly how to bring him down a level in a calm and caring manner and have done a wonderful job in helping us prepare him for kindergarten. In fact, he is at a higher level now than our other children were at the same time in their lives, and I have no doubt it is due to the curriculum and teachers he has at ALFK Academy. I really could go on and on regarding the positives of ALFK Academy, but I worry this could become so long many won't read the entire review and just keep scrolling, so I will close by saying.... If you are looking for a Christ centered education and child care that is very affordable in these often difficult economic times, a place that takes wonderful care of your child, has top notch audio/visual security and secure check-in/check-out, and a wonderful staff that TRULY cares about each child under their care then stop in or give them a call.

Then yesterday the owner tried to hand cuff me for coming to get my children's supplies for this school year after them being kicked out for "spitting and hitting". Saying they can't spit because of COVID , y'all do temp checks right? Matter fact I thought it was a hoax! They just didn't wanna watch my interracial children, how are you suppose to be a pastor or daycare owner wearing political hats to the daycare. The owner has also got rid of all the Hispanic and black workers and the children as well. They need help coming up with better lies! Then they told my husband " we aren't a daycare but a early development center and we don't just watch your kids" well explain further? Because they shouldn't take toddlers or infants in. They have been going for a year since 10/9/19 they are just 2-3 year old and they doing were fine. But all of a sudden with this new teacher 3 weeks ago , they are too bad and can't attend. The pictures clearly show who was getting hurt. These are just some of the incidents that happened to my children. Also one time my son was was constipated and they thought he was screaming and wouldn't sit down because he didn't want to listen. But he was constipated and hurting because they never gave him enough liquids through out the day. The teacher Shianne , isn't a teacher if she can't handle toddlers. Like really my children are 3 years old, if you didn't scream in my daughters face to pick up a spoon. She wouldn't have hit you! They went for a year and never hit anyone but now 3 weeks ago they get a new teacher and all of sudden my kids are too bad when they learned everything fucked up at that daycare! Then they say my daughter is autistic or has adhd, I took her to her pediatrician for evaluation and dr.graham said she was fine. And then proceeded to ask me what is happening at daycare and what are they doing to her?! Also it doesn't look good to have RV parked in front of the daycare, especially with everything happening to children and grown men running around the daycare. They not teachers, why they there?! Screw a lighthouse for kids it should be called a hole in the wall for kids. A Lighthouse for Kids in Sherman TX

CAUTION DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE AND DO NOT WORK HERE!…read more The owners and the manager do not care about you or your children! They are ripping you off. Take it from someone who worked here! It is unsanitary! Kids were playing with a dead rat outside! and instead of the teacher washing their hands, they used wipes. When brought up to the manager she laughed and said she'd take care of it later. It is still outside for children to pick up! It never got handled. The children's toys are NEVER CLEANED! They use expired milk to give your kids!! The manager lets her children run around the school doing whatever they want! The pay for teachers is very low and even lower for the floaters. The manager watches the cameras on her free time judging every single teacher and gossiping. I was told I would be a floater and I got floater pay. Not teacher pay. Yet was expected to be a teacher and exhaust myself trying to keep eyes on all students cause the primary teachers don't do their job when the floater comes in to help. It's not helping! You are expected to do their job entirely for not the same pay! I left when I was told I would be filling in for a teacher that called out sick in the toddler room because that is not my job description and out of my pay grade! (Which I was very honest and as nice about the situation as possible and communicated to them.) They make you sign a form stating if you do not put in a 2 weeks notice you will get pay reduced for the last pay period. That makes sense! Right? Well I finished my pay period out. Signed for it and everything. Pay period was from 3/10-3/23 . I left and gave notice I wasn't coming back on the 25th. To which the manager and the owner decided to make up the pay period by adding 2 extra days to my paycheck to make it my first and last and told me I will only be receiving minimum wage (for the entire 3 weeks I worked) when I wasn't getting enough pay to begin with for everything they were making me do! They are doing illegal things and make you sign documents that contradict themselves! It's very sketchy and they are doing a lot of illegal acts. If you have any more questions or would like screenshots and proof of this please reach out and I will gladly give them! I only say this because this is Jessica Queen(The hiring Manager/Soon to be Head director) and Bindu Jaganatan (Owner/ Head Director)'s game. This is how they make money. They rip off their workers and call them "bodies" (check camera and audio she says it in the front office) to fill in where they need help and then push them to quit and cut their pay in half. It's disgusting and pathetic. Your employees and these children deserve so much better. I care about these kids, and I care about any future employees. Trust me when I say there is way better options and you will be better off never stepping foot in this facility. I wish I never did! Stay safe. Jessica and Bindu.. Please do better. If not for yourselves , do it for these poor children that want to be here even less than the staff you treat like slaves. I wish you luck on your endeavors.
