    Walking in.

I love this Camp North End location so much! Stoped by after I walked the Weds. night farmers market just to check them out. I had no intention of buying anything because their plaza location is pretty pricey last time I was there. This store has a much different vibe, my kinda vibe. They sell plants but also have other dope items sprinkled within the plant babies, like crystals, sage and they even had palo Santos! Seriously my kinda place. I came across an adorable cactus and had to have her. They were busy so I waited for a few mins to be helped. But I believe Jess was who helped me and she was sweet as pie! I even asked her advice about another plant I had at home and she helped right away. And it was sound advice because that plant baby is doing much better since. I'm definitely a Grow fan now and can't wait to come back and buy more babies!

I decided to give Grow Charlotte a visit after viewing a Charlotte Youtuber's videos. The Youtuber is Ashley Anita. On her visit she got a Jewel orchid and an Obesa. During my visit I was able to get a Ficus Elastica Ruby, Alocasia Bambino and a Terrarium plant that the cashier didn't know the name of. I appreciate that most of the plants have ID cards that provide the plant name and some care info. The space is very small and only a few people can fit inside to browse the selection. The selection is varied for the size of the space. The prices are comparable for the new Charlotte plant market. They have a good selection of gifts and novelty items. I could spend a lot of money here. I can't wait til spring to see what other items they get in. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. We bought a few plants and the owners hand delivered the large plants. I am glad I bought from local shop from people who love plants. Hawaiian Pothos was not in stock but owner went and sourced it for us. Highly recommend!

Grow is an awesome shop!! The staff all seem super knowledgeable of plants. I even witnessed someone bringing a plant back that was a little sick and they had tons of information on exactly what she should do! Great place!

This was my first visit to Camp North End I am certainly not an expert on the market/demographics.

They even cut glass if you need a window pain . It's an older version of my childhood kinda folks. I love it they even wrapped the glass in brown paper bag material sold me everything I needed to put my window in myself and explained to me how to do it the older lady did I was very surprised by her and we talked minutes . The same fella greeted me and called me "boss man" about 30 times as we talked about various ant and beetle killers. Their selection is limited, but seemed to focus more on plumbing and gardening supplies than traditional hardware. Maybe that is the niche they have carved out to survive in. Now, Luke did leave something out. I suspect that he wanted to avoid being indelicate, but I think it bears mentioning. This friendly, helpful clerk patrolling the floors and calling everyone "boss man" looks indigent. He is scrawny, dirty, and missing all of his front teeth. Friendly as hell, but quite a sight. I'm only saying it so you aren't alarmed when he approaches you.

I came here to get my Monstera plant repotted because it got too large for its current pot. They can repot your plant for you, if you bring your own you pay a small fee but it's "free" if you buy a pot from there. Some of the pots (like my own) are pricey however I trusted them more than myself to replant my growing baby. I've taken their DIY Terrarium classes and it's fun. It's a very "this is what it is and where things are have fun" type of vibe. Everything is broken down cost wise on how much each container is and what you can put in them. They have an event calendar to show their classes or themed nights they do every month. The make the terrariums, candles, bonsai layouts, kokedama (moss balls), moss walls, and floral hoops. They're fun, they're interactive, and great for medium-"large" sized groups. It's always nice to have somewhere to go and do something different that you can take home. The staff is always helpful when I need it giving good recommendations, education, and answering my 1042 questions. Will continue going here as long as they're open and I'll continue referring people there to!

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.

Like always, as soon as we get there we head to the restaurant. I always get the same thing, Swedish Meatballs. Can't beat how good they are. My grandkids love them too. My son had a Caesar salad which he said was very good and fresh, and my husband had a chicken thigh with black beans and rice and fried plantains. (We were very surprised to see a meal that you would normally see in a Florida IKEA up here in Charlotte North Carolina. I have to admit it tasted very good.) We hit the bathrooms afterwards, spotlessly clean considering how busy it was, and then we went shopping. I will say that there was quite a few open and empty spaces on the second floor in the furniture department. I'm not sure if they were re-organizing or had literally sold out after the holidays. Good thing though, we found what we were looking for things to the help of workers who know the place better than we do and advised us which shortcuts to use. All the workers we spoke to were super friendly and helpful. The value was good as always, IKEA might be slightly higher priced than other places but I have a few pieces in my house that are almost 30 years old and still in excellent condition. It was easier to get here than we thought and we really enjoyed our day here. We can't wait to go back.
