Luke came out on a Sunday and gave me an estimate. Two other companies came out and gave higher estimates. Three other companies didn't bother to call me back. I accepted Luke's estimate and he and his team came out and took care of this tree in about three hours. The work site was cleaned like he said and the entire experience was a pleasure.

They have been recommended to us by a couple of our neighbors in the area. Luke Seamster quoted a fair price and did a great job for us. He is friendly, professional and easy to talk to. We actually ended up cutting 3 trees in the end because of the damage observed once the work started (two of them have been growing into each other). We were very worried about an old red oak in particular, which grew leaning towards our shed, and there was only a narrow path available to drop it without damaging property or other trees we cared for, but was in a different direction. Luke and his team put it down safely, exactly where they planned, so -great score on skill and experience! They worked fast, clean, listened to our requests and gave us good advice on how to save some other trees and on possible future concerns. In the end, we've been happy with the work done and we'll use their service again.

I was impressed by how quickly the crew took down the tree. Dustin climbed and dropped branches right where they were supposed to fall. I will be calling Mabe's for any tree services in the future.

I needed a dead oak removed and attempted to gather a few quotes. Other tree services were either…read moretoo expensive (as in four figures for a single tree) or not responsive to inquiries, so I went with Mabes. Owner Dustin Mabe was easy to reach, and he and his crew took fewer than two hours to down and remove the tree and clean up. Their pricing, efficiency, and quality of work were impressive, and I will probably turn to them again if any of our other trees seem in danger of toppling. I say "probably" rather than "definitely" because of Dustin's sense of timing. When I first called him for a quote, we agreed upon a certain time for him to do a quick appraisal, but he showed up at least a half-hour earlier than expected. Then, when I called the next week to schedule the removal, he said he would check his schedule and get back to me the next day with his availability. Instead, he called me early the next morning to say that he'd had a cancellation and wanted to do the removal an hour or two later. This ended up working out OK in the long run, but it would not have under normal (non-quarantine) circumstances, and it's something for those without a lot of scheduling flexibility to beware of. You'll also want to confirm whatever quote that was given to you as it will not be e-mailed to you (though proof of insurance will). In short, Mabes does great work at an unbeatable price albeit with a few eyebrow-raising practices.

These guys were absolutely incredible! They removed 7 trees total--including 3 dead trees from my…read moreneighbor's side--and 4 massive water oaks, along with holly bushes that had been there since 1973 (planted by my parents). It was a big job, and they handled it flawlessly from start to finish. From the first call to schedule the quote all the way through completion, their communication was top-notch. Dani, one of the owners, was amazing--attentive, responsive, and truly invested in making sure everything was done right. Every member of the crew was kind, professional, and clearly took pride in their work. To add some context, the neighbor whose property borders mine had given full, "cut whatever you want" / carte blanche permission earlier in the week--even sending a bulldozer GIF for emphasis--so everyone moved forward in good faith. Unfortunately, that changed mid-project, and both the company and I received a number of repeated and, at times, excessive phone calls raising concerns. What impressed me most is how this team handled that situation. Despite the shift and claims about minor gutter damage, they remained calm, respectful, and professional the entire time. They are fully licensed, stood behind their work, and navigated everything with integrity--even when the situation became unnecessarily difficult. They completed the job beautifully, cleaned up thoroughly, and made what could have been a stressful experience so much easier. Huge thanks to Dani and the whole team--I would hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without hesitation!

Very disappointing experience after previously being a satisfied customer…read more I have used this tree company in the past and was very pleased with their work--particularly the care they took to clean up my property afterward. Because of that positive experience, I chose to use them again. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. I contracted the company to remove a specific tree and provided very clear instructions, both in the contract and in a large envelope taped to my front door and specifically addressed to the tree service. One of the instructions was to cut the tree at approximately 4 feet. Instead, the tree was cut all the way down to the roots. The damage and lack of cleanup went far beyond that: * My fence was damaged, including cracked/damaged posts and boards. * My neighbor's wire fence was completely crushed. * There were chunks taken out of my driveway. * Other trees were damaged, with chunks taken out of them. * Bushes were stomped on and broken, with some broken branches simply stuck back into the bushes. * A phone line was torn down from a pole. * Large limbs were left lying in the yard. * Broke my pathway pavers. * I ultimately had to clean up approximately seven 55-gallon garbage bags of sawdust, leaves, and branch debris myself. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I went out of my way to provide clear written instructions because I expected the same level of care I had received from this company previously. After contacting the company about the problems, their immediate concern seemed to be making sure they got paid. Ironically, if the crew had simply read the large note taped to the front door, they would have seen that the check was already waiting for them under the doormat. I am now being told that someone will come out to "fix" things. But I have serious questions about what exactly can be fixed. Are they going to repair or repave the damaged portions of my driveway? Replace the cracked fence posts and boards? Repair my neighbor's completely crushed fence? Repair the damaged trees and bushes? Restore the phone line? This is not simply a matter of cleaning up a few branches. There is property damage resulting from the work, along with failure to follow very specific instructions. I am especially disappointed because I had previously recommended and trusted this company based on my first experience. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would have a very difficult time recommending them to anyone else. I hope the company takes responsibility for the damage and makes a genuine effort to resolve the situation--not simply "fix" what is convenient to fix.
