We talked to Erica about a property on the island everyday for a week…read more You keep coming up with different excuses and having to reschedule showing us the property. When we asked about putting in the application she told us we were not allowed until we view the property we even asked about putting down the deposit to secure the house before seeing it along with the applications and said we cannot do that either until we see the house. Friday she told us that we can see the house 10:00 a.m. on June 30th. This morning she now informs us that she has three other applications and is not going to show us the house. Then this Erica chick whoever is representing y'all decided to get Mouthy with my wife on the phone. I'll be sure to relay the kind of business practices that are going on at kesling to the rest of the people I know here on the island. Y'all have a good day and we're going to use Caldwell banker or The rental Management company on the island might have to pay a little more but at least we won't get shitty service

However, after only a short time, I discovered Kessling was even worse. I had simply asked to have a quick property inspection to assess the condition of the house specifically the fence my renters were asking to have replaced. It took them months to complete this and then he didn't inspect the condition of the air filter, which is something I specifically asked him to do. On top of that, he "referred" me to a contractor do repairs but refused to follow up with the guy when my renters complained and sent pictures of the job not being completed. That was apparently "my problem". And, if that's the case, why even have a property manager if they do nothing more than collect rent? I can do that myself without being there in person. On top of that, they refuse to embrace technology which alone isn't a dealbreaker but makes them very hard to work with. My renters were not happy to be having to drop off a physical check at their office all the time nor was I satisfied with handwritten (barely legible) statements with next to no details on them.

I contacted Amy Willis and Associates at the end of the week and heard back from them on Monday; great sign. However, Bert seemed like he needed some more training on the phone and Marla was friendly until I mentioned we had dogs. She assumed they were bully mixes (we have no idea since they're rescued animals) and she called them "an aggressive breed." As seen below, they wouldn't harm a fly. It's so disgusting that insurance companies and real estate agencies bend to the stigma of "aggressive breeds." The dogs aren't aggressive, the people are. Maybe they should be more concerned with WHO they have in their home. We are a guaranteed 3 year lease with plenty of income and take great care of the homes we are in. I'm disappointed in the ignorance I experienced with this company.

I spoke with someone over the phone about initial info and to set up a viewing. I felt comfortable enough proceeding with the process for the application so we spent an evening providing them with the information for our credit report and background check. All was good. Fast forward to the day of the viewing... I received several urgent messages requiring that I fill out a "pet screening' right away because so many people applied for the house and they needed the info right now. Oh, and by the way, we're canceling your viewing. No explanation. We just can't show you the house today. So, I frantically fill out the application that's longer than the application for humans living in the house only to be hit with a payment screen for this application. A fee that had not been disclosed to me at all by anyone in this entire process. I called the office to discuss this and the woman on the phone was rude, dismissive and said she was happy to remove me as an applicant for the house (surprise) and hung up on me. No apology for a canceled viewing, hidden fees or terrible customer service. Maybe this rental company company has terrible customer service skills, maybe they aren't keen on renting houses to Hispanic wives and blonde husbands. Who knows? Clearly they don't have a problem with deceptive business practices. We lost out on money we could have used to apply for a house where our business is welcome by them. So, RENTERS BEWARE.

We were told that the rental property (Cruiser Street, Corpus Christi, TX) had complete renovations 100% finished on the inside and only the siding on the outside needed to be done. ON THE DAY WE WERE SUPPOSED TO MOVE IN, as you can see from the pictures, there are: gaps in the floor, quarter round is missing, baseboards need painted, light switch face plates are cracked, light switches themselves are sunken in, the yard needs cleaned, etc., and, oh, yeah, THERE'S LITERAL HUMAN FECES ALL OVER THE TOILETS!!! When asked about having everything fixed/cleaned so we could move, Tim Voorkamp, the property owner & manager replied, "We've done everything to the property that we want done" and offered us nothing more. All this, on top of an RIDICULOUS $500 non-refundable pet deposit per pet! Additionally, the communication between the support staff (Twyla) and management (Tim) is terrible, at best. Tim is just as rude and short on the phone as he is in person (actually worse in person). Twyla, while not always helpful, is at least nice on the phone. This organization is NOT Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited, for obvious reasons. You've been warned.
