We are extremely pleased with how beautifully this walkway turned out on our Dover, Delaware…read moreproperty. Stephen responded quickly and professionally to our inquiry, quoted a reasonable price - which fell in the middle of two other quotes. He and his crew went above and beyond expectations, including leveling off the sides with topsoil and patching up parts of another pathway. We were fully expecting to have to repair our electric dog fence upon completion, but they worked very carefully to preserve it - and took good care with our landscaping. He showed up when he said he would and finished when he said he would. We have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors.

It is hard to find a good brick mason: someone who understands the physics of how brick and mortar…read moreworks. I know just enough about it to understand how it can all go wrong, and I've felt taken advantage of by contractors before, and so when I got to the point where I felt I could no longer tolerate the deterioration I was observing in my garage, I went to look for a mason. I asked around a lot. The boutique guys, preservationists, and artisans mostly didn't get back to me. One failed to inspire confidence. Another guy stood me up. Another wouldn't go into the city. One never got me a quote. Another guy was very nice and knowledgeable but quoted me a price so high that it had me looking at DIYing it. The search was not pleasant. Brick brothers was different. Stephen understood my concerns about the materials and the work that was needed, he showed an understanding of the principles of brick and mortar masonry on par with the fancier guys, and he quoted me a price I could actually afford. My only critique would be that the written quote lacked detail, but we adequately covered the scope of work verbally. It took two Saturdays, and I'd rough guess 48 man-hours. I'm so glad I didn't have to go the DIY route. Now the way brick goes it's probably at least 5 years before one can be certain that the work is right, but based on my conversations with Stephen and my own observations of his work, I'm confident that I'll see no spalling on the repaired areas. And having seen a few rains since the work was done, I can already report that I'm no longer seeing water infiltration in the repaired areas. So for brick repair needs, Stephen of Brick Brothers hits that rare intersection of competence and price which makes his work a great value. I would absolutely recommend him for any brick masonry needs.

I hired Liberty Concrete and Home Enhancements LLC to pour a concrete slab for a project, and it…read morewas one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a contractor. Not only did they fail to follow the agreed-upon dimensions, but the slab ended up being out of square, uneven, and clearly not level. This caused major issues for the next phase of the project. On top of the poor workmanship, Liberty Concrete and home Enhancements LLC was incredibly unprofessional. Robert Hammond (one of the owners) used vulgar language and even resorted to name-calling when I notified him that Sussex County failed the footing inspection. Robert's lack of respect and professionalism made the situation even more frustrating. I would not recommend Liberty Concrete and Home Enhancements LLC to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled contractor. If you're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and treats their clients with respect, LOOK ELSEWHERE! The experience of dealing with Robert and this company has been a complete disappointment. Fortunately, another company was able to work around their screw ups. Now to further fix Liberty's screw up we will be hiring a Landscaper to "hide" the poor curb appeal caused by this company! Do yourself a huge favor when looking for a contractor do your homework and LOOK at ALL reviews before you hire. In response to your comments on this. Perhaps before you call anyone a liar why don't we take a look at the text between us with you admitting to your fault, the proposed completed structure as submitted to Sussex County, and also the failed first footing inspection which you claim didn't happen. As far as the name calling the text clearly show who actually was the name caller and shows how you twist things. There were no lies on any forum (actually 4 not 7 including the BBB). Robert, this has gone on far to long, maybe instead of wasting your energy in trying to discord our honest review about the work you have done for us, you should move on. We have owned our mistake of not doing a vigorous search to review your business before hiring you. Going forward we certainly will not hire any contractor without first doing an extensive search of reviews. If you want to post pics of work another contractor done to fix your screwups then by all means go for it. As for the paperwork, each document is fact including your failed footer inspection you claimed didn't happen. This particular document was taken from the Sussex County website. Now are you going to claim the county is lying as well? I am not going to continue back and forth with you and will not engage in your childish tantrums. The public can come to their own conclusion. My review is honest and backed up with documents. You seem to have a problem owning your mistakes.
