They started the escavation and then half way through started trying to extort more money out of me. It was at that point that I made a decision to rid them from my property and accept the loss and damages. With my house now exposed to the elements and in imminent danger of collasping. I needed to find a reputable company fast. I called Structional Engineering and Design and spoke with Michael. He came out the same day to survey the area that had been partially dug out by the scammers. Due to the urgency, Michael got me on his schedule and started the work the following week. When you are going through a devastating and life-changing time. You need a compassionate and meticulous group of individuals working for you to restore your home. You can rely on Michael for prompt assistance. Michael and his team worked from early morning into the nighttime hours completing the escavation and underpinning. It was a big job and a lot of hard work. All of the guys were professional, hardworking and did a wonderful job restoring my deck after the escavation. After a water main leak, our drain tile failed and our finished basement was ruined. Our house was sitting on inches of water under the foundation slab, which had no way to drain because of our dense clay dirt. On the outside, Tiger C excavated all the way down to the slab, put in a new drain tile, water-proofed the walls, re-worked our guttering, and buried it all back. This was all done without permanently removing our porch, deck, or HVAC. On the inside, they cut a trench in the concrete basement slab and installed a six inch drain line from the center of the house to the exterior. Once opened, hundreds of gallons of water gushed out for several hours. Tiger C was very hard-working, friendly, and courteous. They were conscientious of our property and our needs. Further, they warranted their work, giving us the confidence to rebuild the interior. I could not give Tiger C a stronger recommendation.

If not there their issue under the warranty, there's a hefty charge. We had a $27k contract for JES to stabilize the foundation of our garage in Charlottesville and to…read moreaddress water that would seep into the basement during heavy rain events. The main work was done very well and professionally. The contract, however, also called for drilling a long hole into the end of a wall through multiple cinderblocks to drain the water intrusion that was getting specifically into the basement's stairwell wall. There was no other access point to the bottom cinderblocks of the stairway wall. It was a clever solution written into the contract, and the provision specifically stated that JES would bring a 36-48-inch masonry drill bit in order to drill a hole long enough to accomplish the goal. After the team completed the main work, we pointed out the need to finish the job by drilling this hole, but they did not have such a long bit with them. We then reached out many, many times over many months to get this hole drilled. Most often we were met with silence, but when we ultimately have gotten a response, the person would say, "Sorry, we will get that done." Twice, JES workers have actually shown up -- but without a long drill bit. They would then look at the situation and understand why the long drill bit was needed, say they would arrange for it to happen, and then radio silence. After we posted a longer version of the story as a review, apparently higher-up JES management people got involved and pretty quickly sent someone out with the right drill and bit to finish the contracted work. Presumably, some HR training has happened also and given that the job is now complete with the vast majority of it having been done well and in a timely manner -- I've now upwardly revised my rating.

The DZ technicians saved me from things like cracking/falling interior walls, 5 serious cracks in the house's foundation needing a vapor barrior, laying a waterproof floor and upgrading the old sump pump. This week Drew, the whiz DZ Team rep, came to perform a thorough annual checkup on all the work DZ had previously done, took various moisture level readings etc. and answered all my questions clearly.
