Once we had enjoyed our meal we popped to the gaming tables. Hardly high-rollers (although if you are they are happy to take your money) we had a flutter and quickly lost our cash on the roulette table. Big jackpots and 'Lucky' slot machines promise big payouts for fortune-blessed winners - we apparently were not blessed on that particular night. If you are new to the tables or games don't be shy just ask the croupier what to do - they'll point you in the right direction and appear happy to help out - and again help you spend your hard earned cash. This is probably why I wasn't really interested in going to Boradway Casino, this and the fact that I've worked in a casino so I felt I knew what to expect. The casino itself is spacious but could do with a bit of brightening up. The gaming tables are huddled together in one area, a large elegant looking restaurant is situated next to the bar area and there are plenty of fruit machines and touchbets to play on. Towards the casino entrance there is a comfy seating area surrounded by TV screens showing music channels and Sky Sports. I popped in with some friends after work for a quick drink and a cheeky bet. We agreed we would try to double our money and if that didn't work we'd make a speedy exit avoiding the ATM. When we arrived it was quiet and the atmosphere was dull but as the afternoon became early evening the place came to life. The staff became chattier, the valet had been over several times to take drinks orders and more people had joined us on the tables. Unfortunately we didn't win but we had a good time playing. A group of us went down to play in a tournement and shared a car - a word of warning - if you get knocked out and you're waiting for someone else there is absolutely nothing else to do, so take a good book! The other issue here is that the rake on cash games is really high which put us off staying longer. Over all its a great idea but it's in a very strange location, so if your not playing poker there is just nothing else to do. If it were in a city centre I'm sure it would do better. It seemed busy enough when we were there, but I wonder how many people will make a return trip?

I would suggest you take some ID with you because you might just be asked to produce some before you are allowed to enter. Only Over 18's can come in here. I have been asked to produce ID before. I'm not a major gambler but the few guys I went with are in to it BIG time! I watched in ore as bets were laid and hundreds of pounds won (and lost) in one night. I came away thanking my saviour for not having a gambling addiction as this place would be my mecca. Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, Slots, it's all here all tempting you in to play. The layout is great and once through the doors you could easily be in the worlds gambling capital Las Vegas. The croupiers are efficient, friendly and very professional. There's a relaxing bar to drown your losing sorrows and food is served, I had a very nice steak and chips for £8.45.
