You might not think about hitting the casino for a tasty bite to eat but Genting Casino, in the…read moreheart of Chinatown, combines a night of gambling fun with a menu of authentic Chinese cuisine. The casino's restaurant is situated just at the side of the gaming area past the bar and offers a substantial choice including three courses for just £9.99 per person (available Thursday-Saturday from 6pm-1am). From Sunday to Wednesday (7pm-2am) you can choose from the impressive 97 dish menu with plates costing from £5.50 to £12. Hot Pot dishes (my favourite) are available along with seafood, duck & chicken dishes, soups, noodle & rice dishes and a choice of 24 'special' dishes meaning there is plenty of choice that is all prepared fresh. Once we had enjoyed our meal we popped to the gaming tables. Hardly high-rollers (although if you are they are happy to take your money) we had a flutter and quickly lost our cash on the roulette table. Big jackpots and 'Lucky' slot machines promise big payouts for fortune-blessed winners - we apparently were not blessed on that particular night. If you are new to the tables or games don't be shy just ask the croupier what to do - they'll point you in the right direction and appear happy to help out - and again help you spend your hard earned cash. If the tables aren't for you then live electronic roulette terminals at 10p minimum and with two systems to choose from, all linked to the 'live' tables, is a great introduction to the popular game and probably mean you won't get too carried away.

This is probably why I wasn't really interested in going to Boradway Casino, this and the fact that I've worked in a casino so I felt I knew what to expect. The casino itself is spacious but could do with a bit of brightening up. The gaming tables are huddled together in one area, a large elegant looking restaurant is situated next to the bar area and there are plenty of fruit machines and touchbets to play on. Towards the casino entrance there is a comfy seating area surrounded by TV screens showing music channels and Sky Sports. I popped in with some friends after work for a quick drink and a cheeky bet. We agreed we would try to double our money and if that didn't work we'd make a speedy exit avoiding the ATM. When we arrived it was quiet and the atmosphere was dull but as the afternoon became early evening the place came to life. The staff became chattier, the valet had been over several times to take drinks orders and more people had joined us on the tables. Unfortunately we didn't win but we had a good time playing. My luck hasn't changed so I'm not sure I'll be going back to gamble, but I may pop in for a bite to eat as the menu has a lot to offer and it wasn't too pricey.

Little did I know this place unfolds a full stacked posh bar- 'Fusion' and a restaurant 'Linen'. The decor and ambience grips you and transports you the moment you enter, the very Vegas look and feel to the place makes it very attractive and appealing to the eye and mind. You obviously need to I.D yourself (over 18's only) but the good thing is it registers you once and provides you with a card (very high-end must say!) and saves you the trouble of I.D-ing yourself every time you enter. It has poker tables to blackjack to roulette to slots along with complimentary drinks and sandwiches!!! (For students this is heaven!) The bar is situated at the back and has a very posh yet relaxed look with the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat on! The bartender is very friendly and caters even to customized shots on very girly requests! (Women can have the edge in this one!) Though, a little tight on the pocket, it's worth it owing to the atmosphere and quality. The restaurant offers very modern British dining and comes with exciting wide range of wine selection from its own cellar. The special thing would be booking the chef's table which gives a view into the private kitchen showing a live performance of the art of cooking whilst enjoying your meal! Very unusual according to me! On weekends Fusion Bar is up for some class Dj's and live music giving it a perfect weekend tinge. So if you're confused about where to have that very classy evening followed by drinks and fun, try the Linen and then Fusion whilst winning some hands in poker!

First of all, entry is from what I can already tell an exclusive "Members only" policy. However luckily, you sign up on first entry for free. They take some of your personal information and create you an account, but from there it's all free roam . Past the lobby and it's Chinese themed restaurant is the "Poker" area, filled with poker tables and plays who I presume are professional. So...I avoided that. Head up two sets of escalators, and you're lead into a huge open-plan room littered with Roulette, fruit machines and various other card games. And what most people come to 235 for...The bar! GOD does it look modern and beautiful!! Set between two sets of stairs under the "Linen" restaurant. For people who already know me I'm a cocktail guy, so my first purchase had to be bond themed ;) Dry martini, shaken not stirred with a lime taste.....I don't think bond had limes :S. and then an Apple mojito. Very well made. But back to the point. Both DELICIOUS!! Well worth the VERY costly £8 ish...Kind of....(Kyoto are nicer and better) But yes, overall a great place to hang-out if you exclude the cost of drinks. I mean, come on! I saw a bottle of wine for £300.00+!! Crazy. Great Casino/Bar and very modern if you like that sort of thing :) Also... The toilets are rather clean and awesome :)
