We parked as they were getting in their car to leave. They were so sweet. They got out of the car and opened up the store so we could look around. There was so much cute and delicious looking goodies. We ended up buying some cherry chocolate chip cookies, Jamaican banana bread, rhubarb jam, honey cream and some cherry drinks. Between the cuteness of the stand the incredibly friendliness of the owners and the yumminess of all we bought I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area, even if you're just passing by.

This is my very favorite farm stand in the entire state! Located north of Manistee south of…read moreTraverse City, and east of Onekama, it's a long-standing, generational favorite small business. Founded in 1895, this family farm offers seasonal produce (including pick your own), Christmas trees, and more. What I love is the excellence of the produce (rhubarb! asparagus! and strawberries...JUST this week for me!), the friendliness of the owners, and the reasonable prices. Check their site or facebook page for what is in season when. You'll be glad you did!

The fact that teeny Onekama has a farmers market is a wonder in itself. There may usually only be…read more3 stalls, but they offer up a sampling of some of the region's best produce, maple syrup, and home-produced baked goods. One stand generally specializes in seasonal fruits, vegetables and baked goods. This past Friday they had sweet cherries, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a variety of pies and cakes, as well single serving cookies and muffins. The maple syrup table has all manner of syrup in different sized glass bottles, as well as things like maple sugar, candies, and granola. Other tables might offer homemade bread, fresh cut flowers, farm eggs, and hand-knit woolen apparel. With so much temptation, it's very easy to blow through $20-30 here, so bring cash. The market is up and running every Friday during the summer, from 1pm-4 (or 4:30?), in the parking lot next to the thrift store. Even if it's raining, they're generally still in operation.

Very large market to check out, beautiful fruit and vegetables to temp you. Deli, bakery, jellies, they had it all. What got our attention was the homemade goodies displayed and I cannot pass up cookies and pie's! Even though it was 4:00PM, they still had ample choices to choose from. We purchased a package with 8 Ginger Snap cookies and also purchased a Cherry Pie. The pie was 20.00 and it was pretty heavy, hmm, loaded with lots of cherries you think ??? Cookies were 5.70. Ladies were very sweet and appreciative of our purchase. We both had a cookie for the drive home, husband loves these cookies and they were fresh, moist and darn tasty. Had a slice of pie after dinner and I must give credit, when credit is due, it was delicious, worth the 20.00. At the country market's, that's pretty much the going rate, give or take 1.00. Check out this market, lots of good stuff. Debbie Riverview/ Mich.
