My favorite shirt in my entire life which I paid over $250 for last December was (I thought) destroyed somehow between then and June of this year. I called the clothing store to get another one and they had closed. I emailed the manufacturer (who happened to be in London) with a picture of the hole in a very visible part of the long sleeve and they said that they had not used that pattern of material in over a year and basically that I was on my own and offered no help. Both my wife and I thought that it was toast and I should cut the sleeves off and wear the shirt like the comedian Larry The Cable Guy does. We were both devastated and very upset. Before I took that drastic step I stopped in to Grondin's Cleaners to ask if it could be fixed. The desk clerk immediately reacted the same way that my wife and I did, "toast." Luckily the person who must be the Waterville guru of shirt mending was behind the wall separating the reception desk and his office and she summons him to the front whereupon he spent a few minutes with me thought he could give it a try. After I picked it up and tried it on and showed it to my wife , she could not find it. He did an outstanding job and I might add the company does a great job on dry cleaning too. read more
