We arrived here and chose a seat outside. After waiting for half an hour, we started talking about how we had not seen any menu's and the staff had completely ignored us. Upon mentioning this as a staff member walked past, she did not look impressed at having to serve us to start with and when we simply commented that it had taken them long enough to attend to us, the staff member got in my partner's fathers face, telling him some sob story about how her braces hurt and she didn't want to be there etc etc. Then claimed she had assumed the other staff member had already attended to us. Assumed, not asked. Our food did not come out as fast as usual either, and we were all severely unimpressed with the service. Note: If you see the blonde lady with braces, it's best not to associate with her at all or she will get in your face for voicing your opinion on the lack of service. We have not and will not be returning here. I have never had such appalling service.

Being licensed, they put a modern twist on the traditional fish and chip shop and also have a more family friendly eating in experience. In fact they pride themselves on having 'alfresco dining'. The food is much better than others in the area. I am a bit partial to crumbed fish and theirs is delicious. They also have platters, burgers, salads, seafood sticks, calamari and of course chips. You can get 6 pieces of fish and chips for under $30 which is pretty good value in my book. Overall, the dine in experience is miles better than most fish and chip places and the food is on par.

At $40 for 2 people, this was really great value - good quality freshly crumbed prawns, scallops, calamari, fish and beer battered chips with your choice of salad. It was plenty of food! We also had a dozen oysters which were fresh and succulent. We're generally not fans of fried food so we found this a bit heavy - we would have preferred to have our seafood grilled but sadly this is not an option for seafood platters.

I am not sure if this is the usual practice but I waited a while for someone to come and take my order before realising that perhaps this was what was expected of me, so either that is the norm or the service was a bit slow that day. When I did place my order the girl informed me that she had forgotten to mention the special; the 200g rump steak with salad and chips was available for just $10. My decision making process and gourmet options went down the drain as I decided I couldn't go past such a bargain. It was very enjoyable sitting, enjoying my food as the wind howled outside and the clouds threatened to pour down. Prices were more than reasonable not only at this location but also the cafe and wine centre.The staff also in this area were also very good and extremely knowledgeable in their wine explanations as well as showing a happy disposition in sharing with guests of the centre as well as visitors. Music at this venue on Saturday 14th February was also of a genuine high character. The not expected gift given as it was my partners birthday was also a plus surprise for her and was a great added touch of the Sirromet Winery and Accommodation centre.Overall a fantastic experience and I totally recommend visiting and a stay here to others. They will not be disappointed.

I was keen to see if Melin measured up though and I have to say, they delivered. Melin is a Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant. They have a huge selection on the menu. I usually see this as a bad sign but in this case, it all seems good. The menu is split into Vietnamese and Chinese with lots of seafood options, healthy salads, and vegetarian dishes plus all the usually favourites like honey chicken and sweet and sour pork. Meals are cooked fresh with 100% pure vegetable and olive oil.
