You know when it's time for a new car. Sometimes you just swear you won't spend another dime on the…read moreold one. Sometimes your needs change. But the fear of being overwhelmed by pushy car dealers and being pressured into something your not sure if you wanted or can even afford keeps you holding on to that clunker. I knew it was time. My midlife crisis sports car no longer fit my needs or my comfort. I looked around at several models, makes and dealers. The Escape seemed exactly what I wanted. I used a phone app and was overwhelmed by 37 phone calls within 2 hours. But this dealer was closest and had great reviews. I met Rich and he did a great job- I chose an Escape, but spied a dealers demo model on the lot- 2000 miles but a great bargain. It did take a while back at finance, as expected, but I know Rich made a great effort to make it a good deal. I got $1000 off from a First Responder coupon, another $1000 in dealer coupons, about $4000 off retail because it was a demo, and my trade in paid off even. That's the kind of effort you rarely see from sales staff. Although I walked in nervous and ready to get scammed, it's a week later and I still love my car and know it got a legitimate deal. They earned these five stars.

I don't think I can even explain the amount of frustration that Lafayette Ford has caused. They…read morehad my truck for 67 days and never diagnosed the cause of a parasitic draw. I contacted the Ford customer service center to resolve my issue and the service managers solution was to have us come pickup the vehicle. The manager wouldn't speak to me or return a call even with Ford calling them directly. I wouldn't be so upset except, instead of being honest "we didn't fix it" they put on the paperwork that it mysteriously disappeared on its own (not exactly in those words). So it has been in my possession for 30 hours sitting in the driveway and it's being towed again because the draw drained the battery. (hopefully it's not going to another worthless mechanic) On a side note the sales department tried to be helpful. Julie the loaner coordinator was very friendly throughout the whole process. She tried very hard to accommodate and keep us informed. Mark, the service advisor, tried his best but he was the middle man between an incompetent tech and unsatisfactory management. They were trying to blame the power drainage on our Apple tag keychain or accusing us of a 3rd party application. 2022 Ford F250 Lariat diesel with nothing aftermarket. Completely unacceptable

I was not present when the car was delivered. Upon my inspection of the car I liked it as well. I immediately noticed we were only given one key fob. I called the dealer and inquired about the second key fob. I was told he would check with the owner and get back with me. After several days I had to reach back out to dealer. I was told they would not be providing another key fob. They only received one when they bought the car. It was not disclosed to me they only had one key fob during negotiations or upon delivery. The car comes with 2 from the factory. I checked pricing and was quoted $500 from Nissan and "around" $300 from an independent locksmith. I felt the price was very high and expected two key fobs from the dealer upon purchase. I spent quite a bit of money on this vehicle and wouldn't expect less. It feels very unreasonable to me to have only one key fob with such an expensive vehicle. The owners only solution was for me to buy the program and bring it to them to make me key fob. Ridiculous and BAD BUSINESS. Buyer beware and ask lots of questions even if you think it's common sense.
