I was recently pulled over in my mustang coming back from Fast Friday's pretty late at night. I couldn't safely pull over for a bit so I made him follow and signaled that I'd be getting over. The officer walks up (can't recall his name) and asks that damn question that I hate "You know why I'm stopping you?" And so I reply with my typical snarky comment "because I was driving like an asshole..." I got a chuckle, he kinda looked around in the car, and asked about my night... Let me stop the story right there and point out the fact that I am a black guy, covered in tattoos, my car is Procharged with 3:73 gears, it's disgustingly loud, it's obviously seen a street race or two, and my sense of humor isn't always received well... Anyway, I replayed in my words exactly how I was driving... the whole truth... he concurred, because he had been watching :(, and then told me to have a good night and drive safe! I was so damn taken back by how pleasant of an interaction I had shared with this guy that I thanked him and shook his hand. It's truly moments like these that people perform their job so well that you obey the speed limit out of respect for their duty they have to perform. It's his job to keep that section of road safe, and I was making that more difficult, I definitely deserved a ticket or two, and he showed mercy. I really wish I remembered the guys name, and hopefully he reads this. Thanks again!

Dog in a hot car for over an hour, called animal control, police came and did nothing, I repeat nothing. It was over 90 degrees in the car and the dog had no water and two windows slightly cracked. "She's alive, so she's ok" the officer said. So does the dog need to be dead for you to do something? Ridiculous, I am truly so disappointed in this county's policeman ‍

Complete disregard of the speeders on the highway, people running stop signs or even making illegal turns. Great use of time and our tax dollars. Will continue to escalate this issue.

Your family will be lied to, told "this is a running investigation, we will do everything we can, to find the driver who killed you." but surely know, the investigation is closed before it begins. You aren't suicidal? Now you are, with a big stamp labeled SUICIDE - CLOSED CASE, on the very day you died. Your family will call with no answer, desperate for updates, followed with a donut filled "detective" (Im talking about you, Amber) returning your many calls with the following gentle response: "What do you people want? Tell your father that I saw his first call, I don't need anymore! I am on vacation in Hawaii so I'll get back when I get back. Are you over the age of 18?" your little sister will respond with "yes?", "Okay, your brother was hit by an SUV going 90, he was mangled, we cant even ID him, he killed himself, OK? leave me alone." This will only be the first of many calls where your sister will be hung up on. Your sister realized at that moment that the investigation never existed. She gets the police reports from CA to FL, searches coordinates on google earth, less than a mile are 4 buildings the car would have driven by. Your family is told that there was no evidence found at the scene, only your cold lifeless, unidentifiable body. Your body that was called in my other drivers described as what looks to be an animal but the clothes told otherwise. Nobody got there for 2 hours. Call after call and they didn't get there for 2 hours. Back to your sisters investigation. Since when was a bloody bumper not evidence? Police report told me, your sister, more. Broken promises to do "All that we can!". Regarding those four buildings. Your sister emailed and called, inquiring about surveillance. One restaurant got back to me urgently. He had two cams that would have picked up both front and back of the bumper-less and blood spattered white vehicle. Unfortunately the month that had gone by, took the footage with it. He did everything he could to try to recover it, it was gone. Horrified, I asked if any detectives asked for footage to which he answered no. We were both upset. I won't name the restaurant or owner for privacy and protection reasons, but I want to thank that man. The only human I talked to that truly gave my the time of day, to talk to me and who listened to my tearful regrets. Me, your baby sister, will forever bare the guilt of trusting Yuba City HP. Further, I called the department asking to speak with the man in charge. Knowing this place is crooked, I made sure to be on my best behavior, sure to not bruise the ego of these people whom call themselves cops. I was almost mocked on the phone, as if it was hilarious that I wanted to simply talk to the overseer. I talked to someone, not who I called for but what the heck, this is how they run so this is who i gotta talk to, right? I carefully explain the discrepancies in the report, what I have found regarding lack of surveillance concern and I truly wanted to know from ,whoever this guy claimed to be, what the investigation really was. I was told it was closed the very day it happened, January 23rd, 2019. With no evidence of suicide or consideration that my brother took this walk every morning before his dance classes and that the driver murdered my brother and ran, still, suicide. The cop, deputy, whoever he decided he was that day, got tired of my questions - he accused me of recording our phone conversation? proceeded to tell me to never call back, and threatened criminal charges for recording a conversation. I wish I recorded it now. It's easy to not do your job, especially knowing you are protected by sovereign immunity. It is easy to lie to grieving families. It's easy to believe you are high and mighty people, doing good for the world, however one day you will need help and I hope you are faced with someone just like you.
