Filthy, decrepit, depressing bus terminal. One would think either the City of Rochester or Trailways/Greyhound would like to give it a make over. It seems like from the 50's it is untouched. Some vending machines to provide some food for the travelers. Creepy place. read more

The ride was smooth tho the bathroom inside the bus really stinks needs extra cleaning. So far it was a safe ride

First of all, Greyhound buses no longer stop here. Attention Greyhound passengers: boarding & drop off are now on E. Broad at Chestnut on a sidewalk with no benches, restrooms, or protection from the elements. Second, the station is not open 24/7. More like 7-3 and tough luck if you're boarding an evening bus. You wait outside a locked station with no seating or restrooms, which is always a pleasure when your bus is running late. As mine usually were. Third, directly north adjacent to this hostile excuse for a bus station is a gleaming new Amtrak station. At least you can use the bathroom there. Rochester could have had a great multi-modal station serving both bus & rail passengers for the benefit of all. But no. Maintaining a facility that broadcasts loud and clear how much contempt we have for bus travel is more important. read more

In the past couple years, the limited their times departing from various cities which is horrible and no flexibility and they were way overpriced, making a route round-trip almost as much is going to New Jersey versus only 80 miles from where I needed to go. It is a rip off. read more

On 4/17, I received text saying bus was 45 minutes late but got to station anyhow early. At about 725, bus arrived and parked on side street behind station where driver got out and urinated, smoked and then left. He never checked for any passengers and I had no idea it was my bus which proceeded to leave at 735 instead of 755 causing me to miss it. This is no way to treat customers and I demand a full refund of $68. I find this as very poor customer service and need help. Tyler R. read more

I can't wait for this place to get a makeover. It's dingy and sad, especially in comparison to the gorgeous Amtrak station across the street. The attendant was very friendly and helpful, at least! A suitable number of departures for the hub that is Rochester and accessible to RTS (local public transportation) lines nearby. read more

Greyhound is awful!! They left my son at a bus stop in the middle of the winter in the middle of the night. They arrived at the bus stop late and the other bus left already and they just left him. I had to pay $197 to an Uber to take him the rest of the way and they offered me a $20 voucher. I would miss seeing my son for a vacation before I send him or any of my other children on a greyhound ever again. They have waisted hours of my time telling me it's not their problem because other bus lines were hired by them to transport him home. They were incompetent and put my son in great danger and are unwilling to take responsibility for their own actions. DON'T put your kids on Greyhound buses. read more

Its a 3rd class bus, WIFI NEVER works. Travelled twice and had a very bad experience both the times. Driver was not at all customer friendly , i asked her -"Mam where is the dropping point in Rochester"? and she said " I DON'T KNOW" ...she is driving and she don't know the dropping point? are you kidding me? I went to go to a destination that used to cost $22 round rip. I looked online to see what the price would be. $40 (a huge jump from what it used to be). So I figure I would pay it and deal with it. However when I arrived they said that it would be $50+. I refused. read more

Greyhound bus driver was incredibly rude and told me I was late when I still had 5 minutes to departure time, told me I was holding up the bus and tried to have me moved to the next bus, which was sometimes 4 or 5 hours later, in the middle of the night. read more

It's not a large station compared to larger cities, as the building can potentially get packed. I think Rochester is building a new bus station, but I haven't heard much about. My bus did come on time, but we left a bit late for whatever reason. As for the current station, it's nothing fancy. They have vending machines and a bathroom which I assume is like any other public bathroom. However this station is located at the heart of the city, so it can get a little creepy. We got back on the bus and continued to our destination on same bus. - They charge $20 per ticket for exchanges. And you have to go to the station in person, and they only accept cash. - They don't respond to customer service inquiries. - Always late. - Always crowded--rarely get to sit with travel companion. - They don't follow their own boarding policies (ignore boarding numbers for line; ignore priority seating.) - They don't let you know what's going on; and most of the time they don't know what's going on either. - Don't travel Greyhound. read more

Bought a ticket to return to NYC from Rochester. On the night of departure, a very bad blizzard was going on and I could not reach the station ( I was in a nearby city, 1h away). Spoke to two different employees on live chat, called the station and the costumer service, they all told me I could not exchange my ticket unless I went to the station which well... I couldn't go. The woman who spoke to me on the live chat, Lady - that's her name - simply told me 'Yes, yes you can go to the station' and as for customer service, their answer was 'but there's a blizzard going on, still, I can't exchange your ticket'. And that's the story about how I lost my ticket and realized how Greyhound, despite being twice as much as Megabus, offers even worse service. read more
