On Wednesday, March 5th, I had a horrible experience at the 398 E. Galbraith Road in Cincinnati. I arrived very early for my Greyhound bus. The female security guard told me that I needed to wait outside. Within the hour, I called Greyhound Corporate office. The representative told me that I wasn't able to enter the bus station until an hour before bus departure. Fine, I waited outside for over 3 hours in the cold and rain. I was present from 12 noon until 5 pm. However, I needed to use the restroom. The woman who was managing the 398 E. Galbraith bus depot was mopping on one side of the depot SCREAMED on top of her lungs that I can't use the restroom. Earlier, this manager or cleaning woman knew that I had a ticket reservation. Also, I had my ticket in my hand. Why are paying Greyhound passengers unable to use the restroom. The bus depot was EMPTY. The Greyhound employee was LOUD, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and LACKED COMPASSIONATE. I would like to know when I travel again, I will NEVER have a negative experience like that again. This female Greyhound employee needs to received in-depth customer service training for weeks, extra supervision to monitor her interaction with paying customers and earn certifications in business ethics. Please hold the female manager/cleaner/ unprofessional Greyhound representative accountable. read more

the woman security guard was very rude. after our bus broke down and a coolant leak damaged all of our luggage and we had to wait in the cold for 6 hours for another bus! We arrive to this station to be greeted by and unruly bad mannered security guard. I will never ride with grey hound again. One of my bags were stolen and other 3 luggage damaged by coolant. The international customer service line was a disaster and no help at all. I want my money back and damages accounted for. I will never ride with your service ever again! read more

This station is mid-sized and not pretty looking however the employees at the customer service counter, bag claim counters and baggage handler are helpful and friendly. The baggage handler especially stood out with how personable and knowledgeable he was. He was great! 4 stars for the overall cleanliness of the station 5 stars for the staff (which is really what matters) I was unable to find a proper feedback form on the Greyhound Bus website. Every time that I travel to Cincinnati, this Greyhound bus station is always packed with people and buses going in and out.

Dropped the stepson off here after a visit so he could return home. Parking was simple, found a place out front easily. I had actually never been in a bus terminal and was pleasantly surprised. It was clean and there were food options (prices exorbitant, I imagine, but don't know). The employee who assisted us with his check in was pleasant and efficient. read more

Public transport in USA needs improvement and Greyhound has the golden opportunity to do that. Unfortunately, it has failed its customers and its customers and the government has failed the company. I am always happy to see that they are keeping up with the competition by providing on-board wifi and power supply etc. But the organization of the stations and the way they handle their customers is still a huge problem. Ticket prices are very discriminatory. If you don't have a computer and printer at home, you will end up paying more the other people. I think it is very important that Greyhound is there to take us places, especially when we can't drive but it can be much better. read more

This is what a monopoly looks like. Poor communication, inefficient processes, no apparent regard for the customers that keep greyhound in business. No wonder the buses are half full. We showed up 20 minutes before, as requested, and the screen was showing a one hour delay. The agent at the desk assured us the bus would only be 15 minutes late, and that the screen was wrong, so we sat and waited, then stood in the line and waited. We eventually left 50 minutes late. The bus station was full of interesting characters, which helped pass the time. Less fun was seeing how many people were utterly confused by their "system" of waiting in a long line to "check in", waiting in another line to board, waiting in another line to reboard. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is that the price is right- it's super cheap! Otherwise, I hope to never ride a Greyhound bus again. Walking into any Greyhound station, it takes a strong stomach to actually go through with the bus ride. I can't quite describe it, but there's a characteristic smell that really puts me off. The stations are small, but some of them are pretty confusing. You have to go to the information desk to ask what door your bus is leaving out of when you get to the station, and when they call out the buses on the overhead, it's often muffled and hard to understand. I've found that a lot of times people just kind of wander over where a line might be forming and guess at whether they're at the right spot. The staff is sometimes nice, sometimes kind of rude- you never know what you're going to get. The buses are sometimes clean, but by the time I was on my last bus I had designated an outfit to be my "Greyhound" outfit, so as to not contaminate my other clothes with whatever scum is on those bus seats. Most of the buses had suspicious sticky stuff all over the floors as well. Also, I hate to judge the clientele, but the best advice I got before getting on a Greyhound was to keep to myself. Don't get me wrong, I met some very nice normal people at Greyhound, but there's definitely a good proportion of seedy people- on one bus there was a girl who had to switch seats because the guy across the aisle had his hand down his pants and was masturbating on the bus. There was another guy who brought a dog on the bus and loudly informed the bus that his dog was skiddish and would get "the shits". Overall, I was happy and relieved to get off of my last Greyhound bus, and I would never recommend anyone to subject themselves to travel on one; even though it's cheap, save yourself the headache and skeeve factor and try another way. PS last piece of advice- if you find yourself without other options and needing to take one of these busses avoid the bathroom on the bus at all costs. If you're travelled to India or another similar place, you're probably familiar with the hole in the ground style toilet that is used in those parts of the world. Awful. Awful. Awful. Just went on vacation that I thoroughly planned out that included transportation of Greyhound. Booked a trip and got there about 1 hour before scheduled time to leave (1pm).. We were still sitting in the station at 2:15pm waiting. Turns out THEY NEVER BOOKED A DRIVER TO DRIVE THE BUS! Had to cancel that the greyhound transportation and dash to the airport and get some last minute plane tickets so we wouldn't miss the cruise we had been anxiously waiting all year for. Greyhound not even scheduling a driver for a trip they have available caused so much stress it was unbelievable. My goodness! This is Cincinnati's Greyhound station, just outside downtown. And it's...okay. Not great, but not horrible or "meh". Right off the bat, I had a problem. I had to carry a large, heavy (at the time) duffel bag and had a smaller bag on the back of my chair. The door is heavy. How do I get my chair, and that duffel bag, through that door? I wrangled it open and got through, but Greyhound, some free advice: You should install an automatic door. Would make things a HELL of a lot easier for me. Check-in is pretty easy with the great staff. Got my bags checked and then grabbed some food. Here was my second issue. The sign on the counter said "Open at 10 AM". However, I saw people buying things as early as 9:40 AM. Confusing. I did get some food, a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and a bottle of water (and some cookies that I guess were left from Christmas[?!?]) for about $5.50. Not horrible. Getting on the bus was not too complicated, but if you're disabled, BE SURE YOU BOOK ANY ASSISTANCE YOU NEED. That's in all CAPS for a reason. If you forget, you may be screwed. Luckily, I remembered that. (However, on a previous trip between here and Dayton, despite me remembering it, that didn't work out. Be ready.) Same situation applied getting home, minus the food stop. But seriously, Greyhound, your bathrooms not being open for EITHER part of the trip? I would call it strike 3, but instead I'll call it 2 as it was an accessibility thing. For the most past this is a reliable way to travel but last night... the bus didn't leave until 3 hours later than scheduled. (No reason as to why!!) Because of that, the connecting bus in Columbus was missed. And then... my friend's niece made the drive from Pittsburgh to Columbus to pick up her 68 year old aunt! The next bus wouldn't be leaving for Pittsburgh till the following day. Why?? does this company have no back up plan for employees who don't show up?? why is no reason given? Very disappointed . 110% agree with the people that want to give this place a zero star rating. I've boarded a bus from this station 3 times and all times have been mediocre at best. My bus is almost never on time which I feel like is unacceptable. What's the point of a schedule if you're not going to adhere to it? Also the most recent trip I ended up wasting my money because it wasn't until an hour after my departure time it was brought to my attention by a fellow customer (not your staff) that my bus was just not going to come at the time nor would alternate arrangements be made. I was unable to use my Greyhound ticket from Columbus to Dayton,Ohio in August,because all Florida residents were quarantined,due to Covid 19.Greyhound sent me a $11.05 voucher to purchase a Greyhound ticket at a future date.Greyhound as of today will not honor the $11.05 that they e-mailed.I have called Customer Service repeatedly and they have been uncooperative.I have contacted Supervisor,Jashua Gilbaud and he has been uncooperative.Ms Caratao has also been uncooperative I also tried contacting Greyhound CEO,David Leach at their Cincinnati headquarters to no avail..I will avoid buying bus tickets from Greyhound,if they have competition on their routes. read more

It's safer than most big city stations especially the one my son just came from in D.C. There were a couple hookers hanging, that had been just kicked out of the Casino. Fortunately my son had run out of money before I arrived to pick him up. And, no, I didn't loan him any. That said, Greyhound has about as bad reliability as any service in America. If you have to connect they will blow the connection and leave you sitting for 4 hours. If direct, figure on being 2 hours late. read more

I've been on Greyhound a bunch of times when I was graduate school, traveling between Cincinnati and Columbus. This is my first time riding the "dog bus" in 3 years, this time to Chicago, which I generally travel to via Megabus, which they have great low rates, and convenient curbside locations (which I think is more convenient than Greyhound, especially when you're getting to downtown via a Metro bus). But, sometimes, the Megabus has become real popular that their $1 fare is a rarity, and paying $35 is much more common. This time, I saw a $12 fare online for their Express service: the Cincinnati-Chicago route only stops in Indianapolis and Lafayette (near Purdue) before the final stop at the Chicago terminal, so comparable to Megabus in this regard. One nice thing about the Express service is that people are called up in boarding group numbers, so no long line to board the bus, though the Express waiting area was a bit cramped. I did have to check my luggage at the counter for a tag, but at the same time, it makes it easier for the bus-side staff to load and unload/categorize baggage. And, another thing Greyhound does have an advantage on over Megabus is having an enclosed facility with restrooms, food service, and seating - even as dirty, mediocre they may be. Greyhound has been replacing/modernizing its fleet; I boarded one of their older but remodeled buses, with leather-esque seats, power outlets and wi-fi (it worked but was SLOW.) The bus seemed otherwise worn and a little dirty, and the bathroom was NASTY. I wanted to use the facility inside the Indianapolis station during the 20 minute layover there, but he told me to use the on-bus bathroom. Oh well... So overall, I do still recommend Megabus as my top choice for inter-city bus travel, especially to Chicago, but I think Greyhound is doing a good job catching up, and they're not a bad alternative. read more

I, too, had booked a trip from Cincinnati to Chicago. When I tried to review my booking before processing, there were no links to ensure all was as I desired. So, I clicked pay. Immediately I saw that I was given the downtown Chicago station rather than the Amtrak one I desired. I called within a minute and the agent and supervisors would not switch it even though they were the exact same price. They stated I'd have to pay an additional $20 to make the change. The supervisor from the outsourced Philippines told me just get a bus to get you to where you want to go once in Chicago. This is a scheme to get people to pay more. The supervisor told me that they do have issues at time with their booking system and I happened to book when this occurred. Horrible customer relations. I ate the costa and arranged to go on another coach system. Greyhound is the worst! When I called and asked about social distancing on bus they would not give me a straight answer. I have never had a worse customer service experience than I did with Cincinnati Greyhound. the women behind the counter refused to help me while on the phone with the friend purchasing my ticket, when they had told me five minutes prior that I would have to call them to get the confirmation number. She left the building to go outside and take a five minute personal cell phone call, and when I told her i had a question she literally ignored me and wouldn't even make eye contact. Never will I use Greyhound Lines again. I was forced to this last trip due to delays with Amtrak. Not only did they remove my bag from the bus they refused to even try to help me retrieve it. All phones numbers went directly to overseas customer service reps and even when I did get a person on the phone I was referred to again to another line and department. It seems almost convienient that all customer service numbers are automated and no one on the phone will accept responsibility for the error or take any steps to try to correct it for me. They deserve no stars so this one is just being generous. They have no business being in the business of customer service if they insist on having a complete disregard for it. Even their corporate number is automated. That speaks for itself. Take your money to another transportation line. They do not deserve your well earned cash. read more

As a typical college looking without a car, Greyhound seemed like a good way to get home for breaks and holidays, boy was I wrong. The countless times I've been overbooked or they didn't have a driver for the bus, makes me wish Megabus went to my city. What really killed it for me was my last trip home. A women was waiting in line with me had three small children and several large suitcases. She politely flagged down a staff member for a luggage cart and was rudely asked is she was a preferred member. When she said no, the staff member said the carts were for preferred members only and told her to "Carry your own damn bags". To say this to a mother traveling with small kids is inexcusable. Too many horror stories to justify traveling through this station again. read more

If I could give Greyhound less than a one star, I would. I've used them for over a span of seven years now and the improvements have been minimal and only applicable to the semi improvements in technology. If anything, the past year the service has dipped even lower and hasn't improved at all over all these years (in terms such as operating on time; being the slightest accurate with projected break times; messiness of the station; cleanliness inside the bus and more). After coming back from a wonderful bus system in South Korea and being knowledgeable of what standards can realistically be met, we should not have to deal with such low standards by such a company. I will not be supporting them anymore; I'll be buying a car and trying out the megabus from now on. Save yourself multiple bad trips and don't support this service. read more

If possible I would give zero stars. Riding a greyhound bus was the worst experience of my live. The employees are rude and act as if each question is a waste of their time. At one point we stopped in the middle of the night because the driver "no longer wanted to continue driving". The manager of that station told us a new driver was on the way and would be in shortly, after waiting an hour we were told that driver could not make it and that a new driver would be coming with a new bus. Ten minutes later the manager and another employee got into a pickup truck and left with no word to those of us waiting unattended in this station in the middle of the night. Eventually an employee there began unloading our bags onto a large dolly and we assumed it was because the new bus was on it's way. After unloading half of our luggage the employee LEFT ALL OF OUR BAGS UNATTENDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARKING LOT. Keep in mind not one of us were familiar with the area, it's 1 o- clock in the morning at this point and the manager and employees are now no where to be found. Another 45 minutes go by as most of us sit outside guarding our luggage because that's up to us apparently and a new driver finally gets there, no new bus mind you. The random employee comes back and loads our luggage back onto the bus, we finally leave after 2 hours of waiting. This was only 1 of many awful experiences I had on my trip from Tucumcari NM coming back home to Cincinnati. If at any point I asked an employee a questions or raised concerns for the complete lack of management or direction I was scolded as if my questions were stupid and wasting the seemingly idle employees time. I almost missed my bus several times due to miss information and only by asking each line and demanding a strait answer from anyone could I ever find the right terminal. To top all of this off my bag was lost in transite. Once we arrived in Cincinnati and I thought the nightmare was over I went looking for my bag, the nearly useless attended half looked for it explaining to me that it was likely the bag "took a different route than my bus did, as they frequently rearrange luggage." Why on earth would the luggage not remain on whatever bus I am on!? I was told that the luggage would definitely be in the next day, it was not, nor the next. Four days later my luggage finally turned up. I went into the station after not a single phone number worked, I called multiple stations trying to get a functioning number and was met with little to no help and the same wasting my time attitude I've become accustom to from grey hound. Once at the station the front desk attendent told me that without the correct receipt I could not confirm that it was in fact my luggage, the same receipt I was forced to hand over to board my final bus!. Only after demanding that my luggage be returned to me was I allowed to go retrieve it. I've given up the idea that any portion of my ticket cost will be returned to me or that this experience will be anything more that a glimpse into hell. What I can hope to do is warn future travelers away from using grey hound. These are not people that work at grey hound, they are dead shells with nothing left to offer the world but frustration and aggravation. This is not a company just a collection of dead phone numbers and a summary of poor management and horrible customer service. I can only hope that this practice of poor business management and abuse ends with the entire company collapsing into it's own filth.
