On April 27th, we pulled into the Urgent Care portion of Magruder Hospital. My husband was driving…read moreand when we stopped, he was having an issue in the car. I ran into the Urgent Care and the Urgent Care doctor came running out to the car with me to administer CPR while my husband was still in the driver's seat. My husband was then extracted from the vehicle and transported into Magruder Hospital where they continued to work on him. The Urgent Care Doctor stayed with my husband continuing CPR and going back and forth to the Urgent Care and Hospital tending to all patients. My husband was then life flighted to another hospital where the doctors praised Magruder Hospital for their care as the results were a miracle to even have my husband alive today. This was all because the Doctor believed it was urgent and due to the immediate care my husband received, he has not only survived, but survived a tragic situation. A day later I received two phone calls from the doctor wanting to know how my husband was doing and I praised him as my husband would not be here today or be in the condition he is had the response not been what it was. I understand Magruder Hospital is not a trauma center, however if I had to get my husband to another hospital 30 miles from our home, he would not be here today. Magruder was excellent in recognizing what were our needs and analyzed what trauma center was the best stop to continue the treatment necessary for a better outcome. Now that I have raved about the doctor, I was also impressed with the complete staff for their compassion, concern and kindness starting with the registration, nurses, special techs, and all involved in our traumatic experience comforting me while they all were focused and working on my husband. Anyone can speak differently about any hospital but today I will forever believe that Magruder Hospital and the Urgent Care Center all have the heart and sincere concern for the best possible outcome for patients. Thank you for being in our backyard to understand that minutes do count.

I am a twenty year old with Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have flare-ups often..and when that happens,…read morethe only solution is to go to the ER and get something to ease the pain down so that I'm not sobbing uncontrollably. Trigeminal Neuralgia is a chronic pain condition affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face. There can be two types; Type 1 which is quick jolts of severe pain which then stops. Type 2, which I have, is when the jolts and severe pain are relentless for hours even days. My girlfriend took me about a month ago to get something for the pain. When we were finally seen by the ER doctor (an elderly man...I can not remember his name for the life of me.) he tried to tell me that Trigeminal Neuralgia is a tick-tock sort of disease, which i couldn't possibly have because of how long it lasts. Already I knew he had NO IDEA what he was talking about. Sure, type 1 would fall into what he'd said, but he clearly didn't know much about the other type(s). He then went ahead and checked the inside of my mouth...making sure none of my teeth were abscessed or infected. This man tried to tell me that my back tooth is shattered and infected. I'd been to TWO dentists before being diagnosed by a NEUROLOGIST, which they told me my teeth are perfectly fine. After having the ER doctor tell me this, I had some hope that it was my teeth after all - T.N. has no cure, so if it were my teeth, this pain would finally end.... I got to a dentist here in Port Clinton, to see if there is anything wrong... there is not ONE thing wrong with my mouth. I had a flare up yesterday and decided to drive 30 minutes to Sandusky's Firelands ER than go to Magruder. I refuse to go back there. They aren't educated it seems and are a bunch of quacks. Thanks for nothing, Magruder!
