When I pick her up and bring her home she's exhausted, she gets on the couch and doesn't move for the rest of the night. Even the next morning it's hard getting her out of bed. The ladies that work here are great too. They're accommodating and very friendly. My dog doesn't need grooming but if she did I'd totally trust these guys! Niki (the owner) does a great job grooming from what I've seen. These ladies work hard too, they're there when I drop off and still there when I pick up after working a full 8 hour day and getting a quick workout in. And their prices are good

I took my maltese here for boarding and grooming for almost 16 years (my dog just passed). In this time the cost for a grooming only went up three dollars and some change! I was always happy with his cut and reasonable time it took for him to be groomed. Amy used to groom him, she was the best. My dog always came out with a big smile on his face. The staff are ALL beyond kind and considerate towards my dog and I. I boarded him at least once or twice a year (for 10 days) in the suites with the webcams. You must book early for these on holidays. I loved checking in on him and watching him play in the doggie day care (while I missed him on vacation). The staff are attentive to any medications and/or dietary needs, and will call you if there are any major problems while boarded. This business is so great that there is a strong following of people who keep it really busy, so plan ahead for a grooming and boarding. It will be worth it. I totally recommend Pet Spas and Suites. They are so personable and caring. This isn't run like a corporate pet store where you never see the same people again the next time you come in, the crates are half the size at the corporate chain pet store. I went once and they were rude. I had a friend whom the corp. chain didn't take notes on her dog who had a hip problem (nor did they listen to the owners) and the dog ended up getting hurt- requiring surgery- costing thousands of dollars and pain and suffering to her dog. That would never happen at Pet Spa. It will be sometime before I get another pup but I know where I'll be taking him/her when I do. I will miss the Pet Spa & Suites family until then. Not only does Doggie Style charge a few bucks less than where we were previously bringing our pup, but they also did a better job! Plus you can't beat the convenience of having your groomer come to you. Brittany got to our house right at 2, the van was parked on our street with our dog in it for about an hour, and he came out so clean and fluffy. She took the time to brush him out and clip him rather than shave him down. We will absolutely continue to use their services. The only thing that would improve things would be Saturday appointments (the hours are Monday-Friday), or late evening appointments during the week. It's not a huge inconvenience to take an afternoon off or to work from home every 9 weeks for us, but I can see how it would make it easier for a lot of people.

When I boarded my two little dogs over the weekend I did not expect to be hit with $40 surcharges plus additional sales taxes. That was a surprise. The owner came out and explained that while it wasn't a holiday, it was winter break for schools so I was charged holiday rates for both nights for each dog. She was also defensive. She said her rates "are competitive" with other dog boarding facilities. A check of online websites showed me that her statement is not accurate. Camp Bow Wow's rates are higher. Some kennels charge more to board larger dogs, but at Camp Bow Wow we all pay the same rate even though my dogs are tiny. I've been a loyal customer for years. The staff has done well for my dogs. While I agree that good work should be compensated, but I disagree with the lack of notification. No one likes surprises. If you're planning to charge me holiday rates on non-holidays, you should tell me in advance or put in it writing on your website. That's only fair.

My other Newfoundland again was groomed beautifully. She did not need as much attention, but I was charged the same amount 250 for each dog. Yeah, that's outrageous. Finally, they have so many dogs that they're grooming. It takes them longer because they do not have enough staff. I was disappointed with the outrageous charge of the cost.

She was so nice on the phone and was very informative from the haircut itself to the cost and the directions to the business. Her assistant Christina is very knowledgeable and super friendly. She does have cats but it didn't seem to bother any of my dogs or bother her while she was working. She took her time and you can really tell that she enjoys working with animals. The location is ideal for Niskayuna, Schenectady, Rotterdam, Altamont and Scotia residents as it is on Dodge Street for all grooming needs including cats and dogs.
