During our wedding reception we played our "Love Story" that Ryan put together. It featured still images from both of our childhoods as well as still images of us together. The way that he edited the introduction made our still images come to life with the format and music. Our "Love Story" was individual interviews from myself and my then fiance. The interview topics covered how we first met, when we knew this was the person for me, our engagement story and final words. We filmed our interviews separate, so neither one of us knew what the other had said. Ryan put these interviews together and edited the footage in a way where our story was really told. We also had footage of us filmed at Balboa Park, Habor Island and Paradise Point. Not only did he feature footage that was shot weeks before the wedding, he edited in footage FROM THE WEDDING CEREMONY! Yes, he turned around an edit and showed Joe and I at the ceremony during our reception. That is something that not many wedding videographers have the knowledge or capability to do. Watching our wedding video during the reception was such a highlight of the event, not only for ourselves but for our guests. This video is no regular slideshow, Ryan uses top of the line video and editing technology. Our guests were COMPLETELY blown away that our ceremony was edited into the video shortly after. I realize a month after my wedding how important this interview and footage will be later in life. This is something that I will be able to show my children and grandchildren with pride. As someone who's familiar with filmmaking, I'm impressed by the videographer's ability to quickly capture candid moments and to adapt to a very fast pace and changing environment. Whenever I feel there was a special moment happening, I turn to see that the camera already capturing the highlights. Vince has the ability to follow his instinct and capture precious moments in an instant. After the video was released, I was utter impressed with the creative compilation. I mean, I was there with the bride and groom the whole day and so I am very well informed of my surrounding and what my environment looked like. From the get-go Amy was professional, organized, accomodating, and a delight to work with. She made our first experience effortless and very comfortable. I get really nervous and shy when taking professional shots. This was a challenge, but Amy really made the experience relaxing, fun, and enjoyable. She gave us ideas of where to have the photo shoot and we eventually decided on a picnic theme at a local park in Del Mar. She also informed us ahead of time of the attire and colors to wear. Since it was outdoors and springtime, we decided to have a pop of color. I wore a tangerine dress and my bf wore a more neutral white collard shirt and jeans. Whenever I had any questions and/or concerns she was quick to respond and was always open to hear my suggestions. With all the information that she provided, I felt more and more excited and confident about the photo shoot. The day of the shoot was a 'magical' experience. We met at a specific time and she provided a lot of the props: flowers, luggages, coke bottles, picnic blanket, etc. I also was able to contribute a picnic basket. She also had an assistant who helped with the lighting. He was also a delight to work with and very easygoing. Amy has a very creative mind and she knew right off the bat what she wanted out of the photo shoot. I loved her photographic style. It's not over the top or harsh, but the complete opposite. He pictures are very subtle and natural. It also has an old school timeless/vintage look and the quality is raw and true to life. Her pictures tell a story, which I appreciate. Two hours of shooting flew by and I was more than happy and confident with the shots taken. I really felt that she captured the beauty and essence of our relationship through her lenses. We needed photos snapped to be displayed at our engagement party and reached out to Amy for help. She was so gracious and welcoming to our ideas. She met us at Balboa Park on an early Sunday morning before the crowds came. Amy was so easy to work with as she made both my fiance and myself feel comfortable during the whole shoot (despite it being the first time both of us were doing a photo shoot). She knew exactly where to go for the best shots and just allowed us to act natural through out the whole shoot. I asked her how she knew where the best shots were and she told me she showed up about 2 hours earlier to scope out the location (extra points there). Despite her mentioning that she already shot there previously, she still came early to scope out the location again. She even brought props for us to use that we were not expecting which made it even more fun and allowed us to be comfortable. From a guy's standpoint, standing there and posing is not something we do naturally. Amy had ways to allow myself to relax and capture moments and not pictures.
