Inquired via email about flood insurance. Exchanged emails with Janice. First, she quoted me incorrectly, despite my having provided very clear instructions and description of the residence and situation. Asked some basic questions about what was covered, and she ignored me for weeks. I had to follow up a couple of times, and she never could answer the most basic questions about clarifying the coverage language. (e.g. "what is the difference between 'lowest floor only above ground level and above' and 'above ground level more than one full floor'"?) [As if that's supposed to be clear to the average person?] At that point Janice just ignored me for good. I recommend finding an agency with staff that's more diligent and willing to help. read more

STAY AWAY I have been doing business with this office since the begninning of the year and I just cancelled all policies today. I was on automatic payments and they failed to take my months payment. Then, they told my Fiance that it was OUR fault for not making a "manual payment" even though we were never informed by the team member that we had to make the payment this way. After requesting they do this... STILL nothing happens. After calling a third time, I was informed they billed me two months for only my auto and they did not take anything on my motorcycle... Totally unacceptable. No one at this office knows what they are doing. If i had not called, my policies would have terminated and i would have not known. I ride a motorcycle so i take this very seriously. If you are thinking of going with Allstate... STAY AWAY from this agent. Plenty of better offices with a team of people that knows what they are doing. read more

When I saw the negative reviews, I was stunned. My father originally signed up with this agency and Greg DeCarlo's father, then after both fathers passed away, Greg and I worked on multiple existing policies on my parents' properties. After my mother passed, they were EXTREMELY helpful to me. I had a million questions and needs. A LIVE PERSON always answered the phone and 99% of the time, they were able to provide what I needed. If they did not have an immediate answer, I usually got a same day call back explaining why they could or could not reply, but I was never left hanging. Plus, I tend to be a pretty demanding client, with some complicated issues, but was always treated kindly, respectfully and professionally. Finally, when I met with the owner on additional issues, I found him to be knowledgable and affable in all respects. I would HIGHLY recommend this firm, without hesitation and have gone back to them for additional policies over the years. P.S. I forgot to add that there I filed two claims and on the second one, the process was even easier! Although the first time wasn't bad either - they just improved on it!Anyway, it was a pleasure to deal with everyone, from the owner, the staff to the adjust/claims side. Spent days looking for affordable auto insurance for my new car. I went through at Least 16 other insurance providers and spent several dozen hours on the phone trying to get quotes. Finally, I spent 10 MINUTES on the phone with an Allstate agent, who worked the numbers in a Completely Different way than everyone else did, getting me every possible discount, savings, and shortcuts possible that no one else could find for me when trying to get quotes from other insurance companies. He worked out a final quote for me that was nearly HALF of the amount all the other insurance providers had quoted me. Allstate saved me literally THOUSANDS of dollars this year, and I will always be grateful to them. I plan on remaining with Allstate for the remainder of my life. If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolute horrendous service and you won't find out until you need assistance. I was a customer for four years until today. The one day I needed help. United lost my bag so I called the number on the app to start a claim. After spending 40 minutes on the phone they could not find my information and said that I did not have a policy with them. After doing some digging by finding Greg's number in the yearly holiday message I then called his office. Never have I spoken with more rude and unprofessional representatives. The supervisor before even hearing my full concern asked for me to take my business elsewhere. After all was said and done it turns out that Greg and his incompetent team made a mistake that made my policy invisible to the nationwide office. I would suggest you take your business elsewhere as well if you know what's good for you. read more

I called Allstate's main number , filed a complaint and switched over to a different agent , Paul park . If I could give them NEGATIVE stars I would. This is the most incompetent office ever. Before your renewal premium Allstate sends you a mileage verification form. You're supposed to fill out this form to make sure you are being charged the correct amount based on your mileage. In my case my mileage dramatically decreased, so I gladly sent in the form knowing that my premium would decrease. Turns out that the folks at De Carlo NEVER sent in my form to the correct department at Allstate, so when I got my new premium it had dramatically increased. If Allstate doesn't receive the mileage form they assume that your mileage has significantly increased and thus your premium goes up. I called De Carlo and spoke with a woman named Tonie, who then goes looking around the office and finds the mileage form I mailed them 4 months earlier sitting on a desk. Are you kidding me! Tonie assures me that she will send me a new form for me to fill out and then the mileage will be decreased to what I actually use. I then get a new bill in the mail and the premium has once again increased. I call up De Carlo and they tell me not to worry about it that the mileage form is still in underwriting and it will all resolve itself. Due to their previous ineptitude I wasn't buying it so I call the Allstate billing dept. They tell me that my bill increased even more because De Carlo adjusted my property liability damage from $20k to $100k, I NEVER requested or approved this change. Billing also notifies me that my mileage request was denied because De Carlo improperly filled out the form. De Carlo DIDN'T tell me any of this, i had to find everything out from the billing dept. Needless to say I've already requested a change of agents and I'm in the process of speaking with the corporate resolution team. If I'm not allowed to switch agents I will 100% be leaving Allstate and finding another company to do business with. Also, Gregory De Carlo has NEVER EVER been in the office, called me back, or taken any calls. read more

I have been buying my insurance through Greg DeCarlo for *years*--without price-shopping elsewhere, though it logically makes sense to do so--because the personal service here is fantastic. When I've had questions--not about a claim, but before it gets to that point--I'm able to reach Greg personally by email if need be, and I also find that the people in his office know a great deal and respond very quickly. (I've moved and had to buy multiple policies, sometimes quickly, and I once needed, and received, frank advice about whether or not to file a claim in the case of a minor accident.) They've also been prompt about *refunding* money that was due me. As for claims, I filed one, a big one, and while it was not the world's most pleasant experience (I had to submit photos online rather than have my car personally looked at), the claim was paid in full minus my deductible--about $13K, if I remember correctly. Yes, my rates about doubled after that. And then they went back to normal without my even inquiring. I know I should probably do a price comparison but I really like having the access and the good personal service. read more

Tried to change to another Allstate agent about two or three years ago and talked with other Allstate agencies in my area, but was told since greg de Carlo ( who is NEVER in his office' btw) bought the book from the previous owner, I could not change. The worst service ever. Never calls back (nothing new here!!)Had to call them three or four times to add more insurance coverage. When renewal time came, one of the secretaries called me and asked if I needed any questions answered and I said yes I would like to discuss my coverage with Greg or Sam. NEVER called back. In the meantime, I forgot to keep calling them and I was burgled to the tune of about 8k in fine jewelry. I only had 1k in coverage. I am so angry at this agency, I am spitting bullets! I was satisfied with the service i received from De Carlo Insurance. I was primarily looking for life insurance options and Greg helped me to understand all the potential options. I have my auto and car insurance through USAA (born in to this insurance via military father) so was not interested in changing that because the rates are too good for any of the big insurance companies to match. But I did not find as much variety in the life insurance options with USAA so I went to DeCarlo Allstate (based upon a recommendation from a friend) to explore. Life insurance options can be very complex depending upon your lifestyle, and age in life. Greg really helped me to understand what would work best for my personal situation. He didn't try to push me one direction or the other but laid out the various options with all the pros and cons and took the time to explain how the policies work. Ultimately he set me up with something that worked for my needs and have had no issues since. Also, regarding people saying Greg or his staff is not around, that is not accurate in my case. He is not always in the office as I understand he has to go meet with clients face to face, but he always returned my call within a day and someone always answered the phone and took my message. In my business if your sitting in the office all day, then your not understanding what your customers want in the first place. read more
