History
Established in 1995.
Greggton Antique Mall opened when Gene and Danny Martin converted their office supply business. Over the years, they built an antique business that is unique and fun to visit. In 2015, after 20 years, the Martins used a leaky roof and a tired air conditioner as an opportunity to sell the business they had built. The new owners took the reins in October of 2015, but after many much needed repairs, unforeseen circumstances forced them to sell as well. In January of 2016, the current owners took on the challenge and honor of operating the mall. With a new roof, new air conditioning, and new electrical panels, the two 70 year-old buildings, home to the antique mall for over 20 years, are better than ever. Those two buildings, one, originally Art-Deco styled home to the First State Bank of Greggton, was opened in 1946. The other, opened in 1947, was the first home of Edlemann's Furniture, which is still in business across the street.
Meet the Business Owner: Terry H. and Gus M.
The new owners are not new to the mall, they had been shopping and visiting there since 2000, so in 2014 when the opportunity to get a space presented itself, they took it. Both are avid antique hunters, visiting shops and attending garage sales across Texas and the country for almost 30 years. When another opportunity came up just last year, this one, to keep the mall open, they took it and haven't look back, much. What they enjoy most, is meeting people, they did this when they visited the many antique shops and garage sales in the past, and now, as visitors and shoppers come to their antique mall.
