Walking in it was booming and was advised we would have to wait 10 15 minutes for a table which we agreed to do so. We were seated at this end with not a lot of room but the sound of the food made up for that. They offer all your classic brunch food alas they did not have a pulled pork dish so I opted for a salmon benedict on pancakes. My friend had bacon and eggs on potato cakes and my partner chose the pantry dish aka sausage beans, bacon , mushrooms, tomatoes and pancakes oh and a egg of his choosing. To drink I settled on a boozy choc orange shake, others had a flat white and strawberry smoothie. All the drinks were perfectly made albeit I dropped cream all over myself.. but wow the food! Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned and just full of flavours.. even the baked beans had smoked paprika a other spices to zing it up. The service was also impeccable without an expectant service charge. Overall we would eat here again. Top notch ingredients and just amazing food..

Being a coffee snob myself, I was blown away by my bonsoy flat white. They also have a variety of delish puddings and cakes, and despite my crippling hangover I can assure you they were phenomenal.

After searching endlessly and fruitlessly for weeks online for someone who could make exactly what I wanted, accept payment internationally, and deliver it to my BF, I messaged Mama Bear's, and the owner is an absolute ANGEL. She worked with me to decide on exactly what to create. Even though the things I asked for aren't typically items that she makes, she told me that she was a "romantic" and would be happy to make a special order for me. She even ended up adding decorations on her own because she wanted to make it extra special! Such a lovely person to work with!!! Her husband hand-delivered the cake & chocolate-covered strawberries to my boyfriend on our anniversary and even passed along a special message. My boyfriend was totally surprised and absolutely impressed with the presentation of the gift itself. He also said that the cake and strawberries were incredibly DELICIOUS!!! He really tried to ration them out to last longer, but they were so good he couldn't help eating them within about a week and a half haha. Mama Bear is the greatest, and if you live in the area, you should DEFINITELY choose her shop! I'd be there for coffee and baked goods daily if I didn't live across the pond! haha.

This little bakery was jammed with all kinds of bread, pastries and cookies. I selected a sticky bun type of thing with raisins and currants as well as a chocolate chip cookie. Both were fantastic. If I could have eaten more, I would have ordered 1 of everything. It all looked very good. The service is excellent, with a bunch of ladies exuding classic English charm. Very pleasant and helpful.

Everything is made fresh every day, and every lunch time there is a queue out of the door. Service is pretty fast as it's over the high, goody-filled counter, but it's always polite. The BLT sandwiches are salty and full of awesome, the fresh cream cakes are hard to resist, and the custard slices are cut far more neatly than mine at home. I'm not particularly fond of the chocolate numbers myself, if I'm tempted, I go for the rhubarb and cherry slices (super moist), and things like the Belgian buns are pretty snazzy too. A couple of things worth noting are- They have a slicing machine- so if there's any loaves you want, but are only capable of cutting diagonal doorsteps at home, they can deal with it. If you want a hot sausage or bacon sandwich for example, you're possibly going to have a little wait as they like to cook things fresh. If you ring in advance, you can avoid standing in the corner by the fridge of drinks for a short while.

The name initially made us wonder what weird and wonderful delights this cafe had to offer, and our choice was confirmed when spotting the empty top seats, looking comfy and almost calling our sore legs to have a rest. With the cold weather still around, we craved the comfort of coffee and chocolate and the ugly bread bakery did not disappoint. Upon entrance we were embraced with the smell of fresh bread, and the interior was quirky yet welcoming. When waiting for our coffee there were a huge range of Italian treats on offer to nibble at. The coffee was strong but softened with the milkiness of a cappuccino, and having a salted caramel brownie made the combination heaven. My friend ordered the hot chocolate and white chocolate brownie, and also seemed like he was caught in the same heaven I was. One consisting of a chocolate overload. I wasn't able to finish the whole brownie, it was definitely a very indulgent delight. The ugly bread bakery is averagely priced to most coffee shops and I have the intention to go again to try the pizza! Definitely recommend!

This is a little gem in resurgent Nottingham city center…read more Simple, classic fresh Italian food (which good all Italian food is). It also has the advantage of being a deli with some of authentic brands you won't find in the supermarket. I'm not sure what the name refers too, as all the sanwiches and pizza's looks amazing I had a virgin beef and mozzarella focaccia toasted and ate in and took in the views of the frantic boxing day shoppers doing their business (they do take away too). The bread was stunning, really fresh and soft and baked with sun dried tomatoes and herbs, the mozzarella creamy and the beef yummy, which was nice after all the white meat eaten over Christmas. There was some yummy looking carrot cake, but I was full after the sandwich so I will have to try that next time.
